Excellent Channel and excellent way of introducing classical music to the viewers. I have been trained in Hindustani classical for few years. In fact, this has been acting like one stop solution for many of my questions about classical music. Your practice tips are wonderful. I have suggested your channel to many. All the very best !
Please teach us more exercises for. Brighas. And fast assaivuhal. I get mesmerized and wonder how singers like Dr yesudas and kalyana Raman sir sing assaivuhal so fast with lightening speed!! Please help me with this regard madam . I will be grateful
I'm a western musicians (keyboardist) can you explain the karnatic scales like this? So that we can add some karnatic flavor and licks in Western music
Thank you madam.Your effort to explain the notes is praiseworthy by english version.Still your mentality shows that you are captive of Britishers or we Indians have forgotten our Hindi language or your lecture is only for English students.
@@praveenkamwal9609first decide whether you're willing to learn Carnatic or Hindustani music . Then look for a good Guru who takes weekly or daily classes. You can opt for group classes or private classes.
Madam...Your videos are superb and your way of teaching is so learner-friendly...itching to learn from you...but still hesitating to take the jump...:-(
Please provide the equivalent notes in western. I’m trying to understand what the 1 and 2 notations mean. Does 1 refer to the regular white keys and 2 refer to the flat/sharp black keys in a piano?
The concept of Sa is relative, so any note on the keyboard can be considered Sa and accordingly the remaining 12 notes will get their position. But for your easy understanding I will share the western equivalents considering C as Sa. So if Sa is C, then the other notes will be Ri1-C# Ri2-D Ga1-D# Ga2-E Ma1-F Ma2-F# Pa-G Da1-G# Da2-A Ni1-A# Ni2-B You can now try the exercise of keeping some other note as Sa and accordingly transpose the other notes.
Ur videos are very much informative..for app I checked its subscription for one course at a time ..if any combo subscription it wl be cheaper for learner.. pls look into this matter mam

In order to be able to understand the difference you need to train your ears... Listen to more songs and observe and train your ears so that you can identify the difference between the notes. Hope this helps!
These notes are part of the 16 Swara system of Carnatic music. They are not separate swarasthanas but alternative names for existing swarasthanas based on the context of the raga. Check out this video for more clarity on this topic - ua-cam.com/video/oOqqVMD6fC8/v-deo.htmlsi=4azIehL728tSyEr1

Try to play a note in piano or harmonium and try to recognise it. Eventually you will get better.
There are thirteen notes, not twelve. Are we supposed to drop the top Sa while counting? Why?
