To the people calling this video as an "effort", i would tell them that this is not just an effort, its perfection.
Truly and totally agreed! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 ‘effort’ is insulting to say. This is an amazing teaching that is truly helping this westerner broaden their vocal abilities.
If not, one of the best channels.
I can say, many of other "teachers" of music are pathetic in explanations. Most of them focused on training the people and unable to mention about the simple science behind it. In that process, students will take years just to comprehend the idea of music on their own. Thank you for your innovative way.
I spent so much time and money for those teachers
This is what my thinking, we only know the value when we gone through the process, many teachers say that you will learn through practice but I need explanations, like mam explains
Mam I actually don't have proper training in carnatic music but when the last tune was played I found out the swara before it appeared on screen. May be the power of music
bro you might have "perfect pitch"
@@MotivationalDevil-y6k perfect pitch is useless(in making music) he prob naturally has musical ears
OMG! THIS HELPED ME SOOO MUCH! I’m a 15 year old and I’m training in Carnatic classical music. I’ve always had a little issue with identifying notes in a song and identifying ragas too! With this video, I’ve understood how to go about it. Your video has initiated my journey in ear learning. Thank you so much. Keep helping us all aspiring, young singers out! Take care and stay safe!
When did you start learning music??
How much time you taken
Mam does the training module work on different scale. I have joined an earlier module basic Carnatic all the excesses are in G# while my Shruthi is G. If I take up the ear training module. Will it suit my Shruthi. Thank you
Such a useful exercise. Identifying notes is usually a ignored topic and taken for granted. But for some, it's too difficult to recognize them. Your classes are worth every second that we watch. Thanks a lot.
Till now no one told Sa is refference in any videos I come across. Awesome start. Well-done Madam. Take a bow.

I'm not indian, but this is great. Can this help with western music?
7 major notes she is talking starting at 1:19 are
sa, re, ga, ma, pa, dha, ni, and back to sa (in Hindu music) = C, D, E, F, G, A, B and back to C (Major notes in Western music).
@@pavanr2708 In this course she said sa = G# (5.5), then I assume the 7 notes she talks belongs to (unknown for me) scale not attached to Occidental notes
@@jphvnet Hi, hope you are doing fine. The 'C major' note in western music, is authentically the 'Sa major'
note in Indian music.
You're right in saying she used Sa for G#. What she did was use 'Sa' as a syllable and not as a musical note.
Here in India different scales/swaras for vocal training are taught using 'sa, re, ga, ma, pa, dha, ni, sa' syllables,
I guess to help the learner differentiate and sing tones of notes in a scale using the same series of syllables
since they are not yet aware of what name each note actually is that they sing/reproduce, nor can they
sing/reproduce the sound/tone of a note when asked by saying it's name.
Going by the fact that many people with or without training are able to sing a scale correctly based
on the tone of a sound as a first note of that scale even without the ability to identify what notes they
actually are theoritically, which we know is also harder or impossible to learn for most people.
So it's like giving lyrics to swaras/scales using the syllables. For instance we all know the tune of 'Happy birthday to you' song. So since we know it, we know when we or others sing the tune even without the lyrics by just
using the syllable 'la' so that it goes lala la la laaa laaaaaa........ lala la la laaa laaaaaa........
I don't know if scales are vocally taught in western music, but they are played on instruments, so I doubt
if there's a need to reproduce vocally (unless may be training to become singers).
So, that's the reason for using the same syllables for scales/swaras for learners by singing/tuning vocally
to learn singing or to learn playing an instrument.
So for learning purpose 'Sa' is used to represent any note as the first one in a particular scale/swaras. But
authentically & theoritically the tone of 'Sa major' is absolute just like 'C major'.
Mam thank you for your valuable instructions 🙏
So precise and excellent...Mam
Thank you Di.. So Great Work.. God bless you. Keep onnnn
