- Another quick lesson video, this time about the DRS and the ERS: 2 new elements in racing (and sim-racing) which not all simracers can use properly...

When I played my first F1 game, I asked the community how and when to use ERS or DRS - the answer was something like "everybody knows, and if you don't, you're in the wrong place anyway". Then I didn't feel like trying it for years.
Really nicely explained - I think it's great how you do it 🙂
Most communities can be a bitch at times, it sucks... But don't let them discourage you about any game (or anything else), there will always be a person willing to help.
Man that community is very toxic, better leave it and find another one
hey viper i'm a really huge fan, just thinking to myself that you should join the nordschleife challenge on iracing that'll be very fun to watch
Hi Viper. Have been watching you for around 4 years now. Have a small request :D
I don’t know what it is, but your explanations are miles better than any on UA-cam. So can you please make a video about Brake Bias? I don’t quite understand it. Thank you
Got this from the internet: Brake bias (or brake balance) is essentially the ratio of the braking force that is received by the front and rear wheels. It is often quoted as a ratio of percentages, such as 60/40. In this case, 60% of the effective braking power is sent to the front wheels, while 40% is sent to the rear.
@@ieatchickens Of course he knows this. But your info is not helping for example how much BB do I use for a track like silverstone, RBR and how much from 50% to 58% would affect the tire wear and how much can I put it forward without locking the front or the rear.
Mate so my tip is that put the Brake Bias towards the rear as much as you can with out locking the tail. It would help a lot for the turning in of a corner yes you would have to brake a few meters forward but it would be harder to lock up and would help the front tire to stay alive for longer time.
@@niuniuhhh ok
You make great sim racing videos and are very helpful, thank you bro.
Well put video as always. I couldnt understand why people kept overtaking me in the straights. I thought I did everything right. Turns out I forgot to use DRS 😂 Oops. Another note, is that I believe at least according to official F1 rules, is that you are not allowed to use DRS if you are on a wet compound tyre for the reason you explained. Its just too unsafe.
My trusty 2002 Turbo in Project Cars 2 and I are beyond your fancy aero shenanigans. The only tool I need is the boost gauge, so I know when the car will try to kill me with its 173 hp!
Do you have plans to make a series about debriefing the racing aspects in the racing anime 'Initial D'?
I think there is no need. The whole initial D is just unrealistic.
I seen somewhere system called MGUK or similiar, is this just other name of ERS or there are differences?
ERS (Electric recovery system) is composed by MGUK (motor generator unit kinetic) which resembles the KERS system and MGUH (motor generator unit heat). This is what viper spoke about; ERS, it transformes braking energy and engine's spare heat into electricity. Also they are called "motor generator" because the same machine can be used to obtain electricity (from braking or heat) or to use energy into movement.
I hope I have helped :)
@@sergiovalenzuela319 thank you
Nice explanation as always but actually I dont like modern F1 in sim racing because its a complicated story. ERS,DRS, rules like two tire compounts rule etc.
En resumen, yo uso el ERS para reemplazar el DRS en el caso de que no tenga a nadie en frente y siempre busco un balance para no perder la energía en una vuelta
What is the game where it appears de DTM car
raceroom racing experience I believe. :)
Nice (new subscriber)
Is that assetto corsa that looks that good?
THE JPG😭
i needed this, thank you so much!!... if you guys like this you might like my good buddies new song ua-cam.com/video/_ul5hwehcTo/v-deo.html some good racing nostalgia for any NFS fans
This gt7
hello viper ... i love your videos ... but i was wondering if u can make a video on tuning i cant ever understand it ... like if i change this variable it does this ... ex . ex . plz ty
Yeah I'd love this!

happy to see clips from Raceroom
This explanation is very thorough as usual 👍
My general rule for ERS Overtake Mode is:
If I don't need to use (Driving normally), I'll save it
If I need to use for:
Fastest Lap Attempt: Traction Zones Matters
Defend/Attack: The 2nd half of long straights/flatout zones is ideal
Damn.. definitely going to just refund the game then. turning both ers and drs on and off constantly per lap sounds super annoying. I'll stick with assetto corsa racing gt3 I guess
DRS and ERS are the real Life boost.
What simulator are you using for this video?
Opinión
Now I know why sometimes my car has AA battery thing, like it was not an RC car? Ofc it's the NOS but with less bottle and more electric thingy! lol
7:30 what game is?
I think GT Sport. It’s a Playstation exclusive.
It's Raceroom Racing Experience
Ah yes just in time to teach jimmy,Ermin, and Jardier how it work
Well explained👍🏻
Swap the words “better” and “exploit” in the title. That will make it better
Just forgot the physics huh?
Hey mate. I wanted to let you know that in f1 on qualifying they can use the drs only on the drs zones as well. The last time drivers could activated anywhere they wanted was in 2012 and the free practise sessions
“Better exploit”
DRS means "Don't Race System", because that's what it introduced in Formula 1.
