    Hi viperconcept. You forgot to mention another reason for braking with the left foot. Turbo cars keep the boost if you press the brake pedal and accelerator while braking. That allows for faster acceleration after braking.

      Bot Dum i like it too. On gt6 i chase 1000 hp gt-r and supra but my 700hp rx7 is lighter. Everyone is overtaking you on the straights but in the corners (especially after the karussell) its fun to overtake them like a hot knife in butter. Lighter is better!

    I have to say, your content is really high quality. You are clearly a very skilled driver and are able to teach those skills in a very understandable way. I really like your channel and it really deserves more attention than it gets. The only thing that bothers me is your presentation - especially having to read your tips. In my optionion using text as the way to reach for your audience is not contemporary anymore. You may have your reasons but every new video I so much hope you finally speak to us. This would make this channel so much better!

    You can apply the brake hard at higher speeds, basic physics. You need to release some brake pressure at lower speeds because the kinetic energy is less. Therefore, at lower speeds you apply the brake firmly(slow but fast).

    Thank you for this. I've just started sim racing with a wheel and pedal setup and though I can left foot break I wasn't finding it to be efficient or faster even though everyone is making such a big deal about how I need to do it all the time but in my experience it's no better. It should be used however for scrubbing speed, Keeping boost up on turbo cars and Rally racing but honestly in regular racing if you're left foot braking a lot it more than likely means your not braking enough into the first entry part of the corner. It's a good thing to be able to do it guy's but it's not something you should do al the time.

    So, I drive an MX5 MK1 track, autosolo and drift driving , manual transmission obviously... Real life too... The car has quite neutral setup, which means on tight corners you can use some left foot braking to make it turn sharper...and I find that skill quite useful in all situations, although as you said rally makes most sense.

      Don't heel and toe like this though. Keep a more regulated brake pressure on the toe when blipping the throttle with the heel. That bouncing of the brake like a light switch is bad for balance of the car.

    I will say for braking slow cars first you must brake slowly to transfer the weight to the front wheels, once the weight is there you must push if you want full, this will lock the wheels if you turn the steering.

      Khoopa best advice I can give a gamepad player, from being a gamepad player for about 10 years, if possible save somr money and grab a racing wheel something like a g920 or g29 they are relatively cheap and make the games 100% more immersive and whilst at first it may be a learning curve you will find that with the wheel you can become very consistent

      im using the 360 controller on pc, with project cars. i followed some random tutorial on the internet on how to setup my controller settings, but thats pretty much it. every car handles differently, so you will have to learn. i recommend scalling down the steering ratio on every car, it gives that extra cornering ability to compensate the fact you cant rotate your joystick like you would a wheel.

    Hello, viperconcept. I just found your chanel like less than a week ago, and I must say that you are a perfect driver! Maybe this will be a long comment, but I would ask you something (since you play both, Project CARS and Assetto Corsa):
    Which game should I buy? Project CARS or Assetto Corsa? Which game is better in some things, which game is worse in some things, which game has more players and which game has higher "fun factor"?
    My very first "sim-like" racing game was Shift 2: Unleashed (and I know that guys who made Project CARS also made NFS: Shift and Shift 2), even tho physics were not really accurate, but after buying a wheel and pedals, I had the greatest fun in the game. The game was really, really hard to master, but it was very satisfying and I felt like I was driving real cars.
    I can afford only 1 from these 2 "sim-like" racing games, so I would be really glad if you would help me to decide which one should I buy.
    And sorry for this long comment.

    • @viperconcept
      @viperconcept  7 років тому +1

      Very simple:
      If you prefer graphics over physics take project Cars.
      If you think physics are more important than graphics buy Assetto Corsa. ^^

    OTTIMA guida, proprio ultimamente mi stavo chiedendo come frenare meglio e ottimizzare i punti di stacco. Grazie mille ;)
    Comunque la frenata col sinistro, secondo me, può tornare molto utile, se coordinata bene nei corner medio-lunghi per ottimizzare la ripartizione di peso, anche con vetture a trazione posteriore.

    good question,but I have another for you.
    (if you played race room you'll know...)about the wtcc cars,they're all front wheel drive,but when i start braking,gently,the car looses the rear...don't know if i'm playing with the joystick or not,but everytime,every corner,,the car looses the rear

    • @viperconcept
      @viperconcept  7 років тому

      - Hard front anti-roll bar, soft rear anti-roll bar
      - full rear downforce
      - stiff front spings/dampers, soft rear spings/dampers
      - don't downshift too early
      - put softer tyres on the rear.
      - switch the brake bias more on the front
      All these things should add a great amount of understeer. If the car still oversteers or loses the rear while braking even after those changes, that means there's something wrong with your driving style with this class of cars.
      Just remember: when a FF car loses the rear or oversteers too much, just press the throttle to increase the understeer and regain the control of the car.

    hi viperconcept, I want to know your wheel setting in assetto corsa, I have G27 but I want to adjust the advanced controller setting to be as realistic as possible. I haven't changed the advanced setting since 1 or 2 years ago, due to several major updates I think I need to readjust the advanced control setting for my wheel. I pay more attention to the way how you correct the steering it seems so light, so easy to turn so you didn't miss the moment, while mine it feels so heavy to turn the wheel, I want to compare my setting with your setting.

    I don't quite get it... First, less powerful engine doesn't always mean the car is slower.
    Second, if you're driving the car that IS slower, but you still manage to beat your opponents, it doesn't mean slower car has an advantage, it means your opponents suck in driving cars they chose. Because there's no universal characteristic of how fast/how slow the car is, you can only say "Car A is faster than Car B on this track in these conditions" (and on another track/in different conditions it could be opposite).

      About your 1st point: of course, it depends also on the track you're driving. While Monza would be disadvantageous for a Lotus Elise against other +400hp supercars, on Monaco circuit it would take its revenge. When I was saing "slower" car, I was talking about the performances on straight.
      About the 2nd point: There are easy cars to drive and then there are harder cars to drive. Generally powerful cars are harder to control than low-hp cars. It isn't just a question to "suck" at driving or being skilled (even if the driver's skills play an important role). The number of mistakes is directly proportional to the car's difficulty. And the car's difficulty increases when you increase the hp.

    Hi viperconcept. Can you evaluate if Real Racing 3, an racing game for mobile, can simulate well the driving properties? I've been playing that game a long time ago but I think the game can't simulate the time to start drifting, even turning the steering wheel in a 35º angle makes you drift in a low speed, like 60km/h to 87 km/h. Or maybe i'm doing mistakes and I can't see I'm doing it. I'll be very glad to receive your answer to help me.

      Never tested it, but by watching some videos, It looks like an arcade game (very simplified physics). However the racing line seems to have a considerable importance on that game.

      I 100% agree with you, that's the answer I was expecting :)

    Hey viperconcept, love your videos.
    I started playing rFactor , and I downloaded the F1 2016 WCP Mod.
    As soon , as I started driving the F1 Car, I fullthrottled it and lost control in the pits (XD)
    Then I was thinking how do you drive a F1 car, because its +800HP, and then I remembered your video lesson ''How to drive powerful cars'' and you said when driving , on 1st gear start increasing the throttle gradually , not fullthrottle it instantly.
    I got the memo but im too impatient and spin out a lot.Also rFactor is my first proper sim.
    Thank you for the lesson anyways , love your videos.

      i just started playing project cars and i learned real quick that throttle management is a MUST along with heating up your tires and brakes to optimal temperature before smashing the gas.

    • @VoidSixx
      @VoidSixx 7 років тому

      My main tip is too focus on safety and clean racing over speed. Once you nail that, you'll be much less likely to spin/off/crash, and speed will come naturally. You'll be able to see where you can and can not brake later, accelerate harder/earlier etc.
      Also, in some corners, you're going in at a good speed, but accelerating too early and understeering. Try to keep off the throttle until the apex, there you can get on the throttle and fly out the corner. As I mentioned before, over time you'll learn which corners you can accelerate into, which you can feather the throttle through etc.
      Also, as a more minor note, you're shifting way too early sometimes and banging it off the limiter. It's good to shift early to get stronger engine braking earlier, but make sure you shift late enough to avoid the limiter.

      Thank you!
      Also if the car goes tail-happy , now i have fast reactions so I can avoid spinning off with the help of countersteer, but on replay cameras it looks funny to see an F1 car sliding around the corner

    Helo viperconcept, i d like to get introduced into racing simulation games and i dont know what are the best videogames out there, id like to play dirt rally because it seems pretty challenging but i want to see your opinion about other simulation games
    pd: i have a logitech gt steering wheel

    • @viperconcept
      @viperconcept  7 років тому

      Try Rfactor 2 or Assetto Corsa: both games have the most realistic physics ever, even if the graphics are a bit outdated.
      Dirt Rally is a good simulation but it hasn't the same accuracy of the 2 previous games in terms of physics.

    Quand je conduit une Subaru Legacy dans Gran turismo et comme je suis agressif sur le circuit ( quand je freine dans un virage qui conduit au tunnel dans le High Speed Ring ) je glisse et je me cogne contre la barrière de sécurité ( je suis un peu un Noob mais grâce a toi on s'ameliore ;) ! ).

    • @HipsterNgariman
      @HipsterNgariman 7 років тому

      C'est normal, comme c'est dit dans la vidéo, tes pneus sont soumis à trop de forces si tu tournes et freines fort en même temps. Si tu veux vraiment passer ce virage comme ça, apprend le "trail braking" (ça demande par contre beaucoup de technique et c'est impossible à la manette).
      Sinon, plusieurs solutions : lâcher l'accélérateur ; freiner un peu avant ; ou changer de bagnole (les 4WD ont tendance à sous-virer, ce qui t'empêche de prendre ce virage rapidement).

    • @volkswagenk7017
      @volkswagenk7017 7 років тому

      Les supercars c'est aussi des 4WD ( certaines pas toutes ) ( PS : Merci pour le conseille ).

    • @HipsterNgariman
      @HipsterNgariman 7 років тому

      Oui mais les supercars, bien qu'elles aient de bonnes performances sur circuit, le but reste d'avoir une automobile de luxe avec un moteur énorme sur un châssis rigide. Et quoi de mieux pour utiliser toute la puissance qu'une toutes roues motrices.
      Le 4WD est plus lourd, a une perte de puissance et a tendance à sous-virer. Le seul intérêt est de garder le maximum de motricité (ainsi que d'adhérence sous la pluie), mais c'est obsolète avec des pneus slicks (de course). C'est pour ça qu'on en voit sur : les berlines de luxe / sport, les voitures de rallye (pour privilégier l'accélération après les virages serrés), et en Time Attack (la seule règle du WTAC : pneus de route). Peut-être pas toujours en Time Attack, d'habitude les Lancer Evo dominent mais c'est une S14 qui a gagnée la dernière édition donc tout est possible.
