The way I see the iPhone 16 Pro is it isn’t an exciting upgrade because of a marquee feature. But it is an incredibly polished one from a hardware perspective. Revised internal structure, thermals, antennae’s, battery technology, consistency across the cameras and between the Pro and Pro Max. It is a complete piece of hardware to herald a software focused future. But yes don’t buy a product based on promised software features. But if you like me only upgrade every 4-5 years, this feels like a far more complete hardware product than anything released since my current iPhone 12, which at the time felt the same from the first SE.

I know I'll lose blood oxygen, but that's a non issue - I've only ever checked it a few times out of curiosity for the function. Going to try hanging on to my iPhone 12 Pro Max for another cycle. Battery at 83% - but after four years that's not a huge shock. Might go get a battery replacement, though.

This is like getting the area under the curve and rate of change [see the fundamental therom of calculus] level importance.
Apple removed features that people actually use, such as the headphone jack, SIM card slot, and charger, under the pretext of needing more space, while adding a button no one asked for.
At this point, every other manufacturer followed suit. Samsung doesn't include charging bricks and took the headphone jack. Google doesn't have SD card slots. When the entire industry abandons things, you can't really point to one company anymore.
The only company with a headphone jack and SIM card is Sony who charges $1500+ and has a dismal 2 years OS support. So you can have those features that companies will gladly fleece you for. Oh and Sony doesn’t even include a cord lol
Just preordered two new iPhones 16 pros (upgrading from an 11pro and 13pro) and also getting a silver & jet black series 10 watch cause of tmobile promos: overall I think tech reviewers often forget people arent upgrading year in and year out and typically hold onto their phones for a few generations since apple has been pretty consistent with software upgrades. So while everyone saying not to buy an iphone with the promise of a software upgrade they fail to recognize the track record of apple. I could have upgraded last year from the 13 pro but it just made no sense but going from a 13pro to 16pro is a significant upgrade people are failing to recognize.

I’ve got a Watch series 7, I see no compelling reason to upgrade. Sleep apnea is a none issue for me and there really isn’t anything it can do the series 7 can’t. As for the phone, I don’t consider the camera at all. I’d rather a no camera iPhone. So, I still see no compelling reason to upgrade the phone either. Still nothing new I can do I currently can’t already do.
They should introduce the built in fingerprint sensor instead of the awkward Face ID. I would make the new camera button to include action button features and AI features. 16:9 aspect ratio. These features would make me buy a new iPhone immediately. But for now it’s just a iPhone 12 with minor upgrades 😅 Yes a flip phone would be a great change of pace.
So they add an upgraded ACTION BUTTON, I’m able to launch the camera with the action button and with the volume up i can take the photo, still don’t understand that new button.
2 Questions/Comments: 1) Is Apple finally giving us Blood-O2 back? They should just settle that lawsuit! 2) Wish they would have upgraded the chip in the AirPods Max to keep up with all the regular AirPods...

Apple Watch 10 was the absolute highlight for me. Didn’t fix what wasn’t broken (the bands) and pure refinement across all models. So happy to have titanium replace the stainless steel- was on my wishlist since the Apple Watch Edition (here’s hoping we see white ceramic soon too 😉). While iPhone 16 Pro looks great, I love my 15 Pro and will hold onto it as long as I can cause I love it. 😊
I’m not buying an iPhone 16 pro just because of what was announced, I’m buying one because I’m going on a trip and I’d like to take great pictures to remember it, and I’m in the market to upgrade from an iPhone 12. I was thinking about upgrading from the 15 pro Max to the 16 pro max for the bigger battery and the slightly bigger screen. The only reason it’s been a thought is because I use my phone heavy every day and it’s already on 88% battery health and next month makes one year. 😅 so I’ve been holding off to see the reviews for the battery life to see if it’s a better improvement. Also does any one else iPhone 15PM randomly gets hot after using certain apps it’s a little concerning and making me want to ditch this phone. Let me know if that’s a normal thing on the 15

No you can’t. Im in the EU and we can get the AI, but you need a US or any country that supports AI store account. That means that I lose all my store bought stuff like Apple music, games, in game items. So if you never used the store to buy something you could switch to a us apple ID and you get the AI.

As much as I want to upgrade from my iPhone 12 Pro Max, the lack of physical SIM is still my biggest barrier to doing so. I use an Android when I'm working, but I just pop my SIM card in the Android and I'm ready to go. I just upgraded my Pixel from a 6 Pro to a 9 Pro and it may become my main phone as my iPhone becomes more outdated. I was hoping e-SIM would be better by now, but AT&T won't activate my unlocked Z Flip 6 and OnePlus Open with an e-SIM even though they both support e-SIM and work perfectly with the physical SIM card.

IMHO, the camera button isn't so much about function, it's about a camera button at the opposite end of the phone instead of using the volume buttons.

If I buy iphone 16 in the us and take it to europe, is it going to be the same as it will be bought in europe? I am just curious.

Nowadays an iPhone will generally work across all regions. In the past that was not really the case, you’d have buy a specific iPhone that would fit the region’s carriers antennas.
No you can’t. Im in the EU and we can get the AI, but you need a US or any country that supports AI store account. That means that I lose all my store bought stuff like Apple music, games, in game items. So if you never used the store to buy something you could switch to a us apple ID and you get the AI.

As much as I want to upgrade from my iPhone 12 Pro Max, the lack of physical SIM is still my biggest barrier to doing so. I use an Android when I'm working, but I just pop my SIM card in the Android and I'm ready to go. I just upgraded my Pixel from a 6 Pro to a 9 Pro and it may become my main phone as my iPhone becomes more outdated. I was hoping e-SIM would be better by now, but AT&T won't activate my unlocked Z Flip 6 and OnePlus Open with an e-SIM even though they both support e-SIM and work perfectly with the physical SIM card.
