      You always do a great job of comparison however, one component is missing. They're charging you an arm and leg for their phone plans. So you're not really getting a discounted or free phone when you get those deals, you're getting it built in on the backend of the plan costs.

      I love your informative video but I have one question about your chart. Where do I find the $700 credit trade-in deal for iPhone 13 Pro Max? Because I searched everywhere, even compared with eBay used price, I cannot find any place in Boost Mobile or no other place that I can get $700 credit for trading in my iPhone 13 pro max. Please answer my comment to relief the confusion with chart saying $700 credit.

    If it seems too good to be true, it probably is most of these providers. Hide the fact that the money office towards your monthly payment and increments which initially doesn't go towards the actual value you pay off on the phone.

      @@showman1438not every provider requires you to have the most expensive plan. If you have a 4 line account with AT&T on their starter plan your costs with autopay are around $40/line per month. For 3 lines it is $45/line per, both of these are around the same as you would pay for a prepaid provider. Then you do the trade in for an iPhone 16 pro for free and you end up just saving the $1000. Yeah, you have to stay with your provider for 3 years, but assuming you don’t have an exuberant bill increase randomly (which hasn’t happened with my provider) you just get rewarded for being loyal to your wireless provider. Why pay $40/mo for a single line prepaid account and $1000 for the phone when I can pay $40 for a family plan postpaid account and get the phone for free?

The phones are financed with zero interest, the companies do not make money on the phones they make it on the service. For people like me, heavy data user(220,270 gigs the last 2 months), ATT premium who uses hbo and wants top streaming quality and doesn’t picture yourself going anywhere anytime soon. The 1000 trade in for 36 months is clearly the best, even if you’re someone who always liked the 2 year contract and upgraded every 2 years like me. You’re still better off paying for your phone for those extra last 12 installments because the extra 8.34 a month for a year is still much less than any straight up instant trade in money or credit. Don’t do the early trade in program because that’s 2 years of an extra 10 bucks a month when obviously 1 year of 8.34 is less

    I’m new to this, so if my question seems silly, sorry. I’m currently on Magenta Max with T-Mobile, and I’m curious about the Boost Mobile deal that offers an unlocked iPhone after paying outright and activating the phone on the Boost network. If I were to purchase that phone, would it be possible to switch back to a T-Mobile plan later if the coverage isn’t good, for Boost, in my area? Would I need to deactivate my service with Boost Mobile and switch to T-Mobile, or could I have both plans active simultaneously? Additionally, how would my phone number be affected by this equation? I just don’t want to have to get a new phone number if something goes wrong with coverage. Love the idea of saving some money on my phone, though. Not stressing over the money but it would be nice to save some. Maybe this is a dumb idea also… curious what people have to say.

    • @StetsonDoggett
      @StetsonDoggett  4 місяці тому +1

      The $700 in total credit comes from trading in the example iPhone 13 Pro to Apple ($400) and the 1 year of free service from Boost Mobile ($300). $400+$300=$700 total credit.

  • @conundrumschronicles
    @conundrumschronicles 4 місяці тому

    One correction I would make to your comparison of how the credits work is that if you get your phone online,T-mobile will give you the full value of the promotion spread out over the 24 months. Whereas if you call into customer care or go into the store that is where you will get the trade-in value of the phone as a credit and then the remaining amount of the promotion spread out over 24 months

    • @conundrumschronicles
      @conundrumschronicles 4 місяці тому +1

      Now, if you are smart, what you would do is take the fair market value trade-in credit of let’s say $375 and put that as an additional down payment on the phone so that when T-Mobile does begin to give you the monthly credits they give you the full $1000 as you put down that $375. So in essence, it would just be like paying your bill plus a little bit more (depending on how much your bill is normally) and then you allow T-Mobile to pay your bill with the credit. essentially, it is kind of a shell game with the carriers and how they issue credits. I will say for a while now T-mobile has strongly been encouraging customers to be self-sufficient and manage their account as much as possible online, including shopping and getting devices. So as a carrot to continue to do so they give the best promotion online. That way there are less people calling in to customer care or crowding the stores during launch season. Sidenote, it’s also how T-Mobile is able to keep a vast majority of their customer care workforce in the United States and have only a small portion supporting in international locations as the demand for customer care is lower when a customer is able to be self-sufficient online, whereas Verizon and AT&T have a vast majority of their customer care Internationally and have a small portion here in the United States

    • @conundrumschronicles
      @conundrumschronicles 4 місяці тому

      Also with T-Mobile, if you are on GO5G Next, the promotion is they will pay off whatever is owed on your previous device completely AND give you the full $1000 towards your next device. So I would argue that while it is the most expensive plan it is the best deal, especially if you get it online.
