To encounter an angel was a terrifying experience, as most encounters in the old and new testaments, angels would often say "Don't be Afraid".
because they aren't attractive, higher level demons are very attractive to manipulate humans. Higher level Angels are fierce and fight demons for a living, so they are far from beautiful based off modern standards
But for some cult, some Angel will come and squeeze some human while said "Read." Three times.

My brother, a Christian, made a trip overseas to feed the hungry. He said he got off the boat and was walking up a road by himself when 3 men started to try to rob him. He said all of a sudden the men looked up behind him and were terrified and ran away. My brother turned and saw a huge Angel with a sword. God is good.

Thanks Bible project! I would like to share my experience with an angel. It happen during my sophomore year in high school. I was going through a lot so I would ask the Lord to take me with him - I knew better not commit suicide but I just wanted to be with him. I was asleep in my bed and there was a hand pressuring my leg. I thought it was my mother waking me up to go to school so I turned away. But the the had shook my leg and woke me up. I got up half way with my elbows still on my bed - I saw a man shape figure sitting at the edge on my bed. No features, no wings just bright like the images you guys showed. He spoke to me and said that everything will be okay. In that moment, I didn’t realize exactly what was happening I looked at my alarm clock and it was still night time I look back and he/it was gone. Right then there was a small earthquake and everyone woke up to check on me but I was in the state of mind of did that just happen. Everything happen one after the other. Since then even if everything is out of control on this Earth I still know that God is in control. Praise God and Jesus for their mercy and their ultimate love. Even in the darkest God is with us and hurts for us.

I had a very similar experience about 20yrs ago, except I feel like it was Jesus. I remember it was about 6am, and I was 19.. in a place in life where I wasn't sure what I was doing. I felt lost. Then that morning I felt like I was half awake, half asleep...but my room filled with the brightest light, like the sun rose in my room. But I wasn't blinded, I just felt this incredible warmth, like I was being hugged by love. Then at the foot of my bed I saw an outline of a person, an even brighter light... and I sensed it was Jesus. And in the moment, all I could say was "take me with you. I'm ready to leave it all, I just want to be with you." And a gentle voice just said, "Not yet,it's not time." The warm embrace squeezed me harder, then the light gradually disappeared.
I sat there feeling a sense of loss because His presence was unlike anything I had or will ever experience on earth. And I just wanted to stay there forever.

Actually a few months ago I heard Tim mention it in a podcast and the only reason I didn't use youversion was bc I enjoy watching the videos as I read so when he mentioned it I thought I would check it out. I had met an angel while in a train, but not realized that until years later. We had talked about the heaven. The joy there is so great that it cannot be described with any human language. God prepared this for all those whose heart truly wants to be with Him.

I was born catholic but became atheist then started to get back into it because as I got older I realized the religion that what I was raised with was simplistic and basic and now I am getting back into catholicism and spirituality. I am interpreting the bible how I see it and I realized religion isnt supposed to be all friendly and simple and something that ignores evil. It's supposed to be complex, scary, conflicting, you're supposed to acknowledge evil and get over it, and it's basically everything that goes against what modern religion is. I love the expression of Heaven in these videos. It feels mystical yet relatable and very epic.
I were on a flight to the USA when the plane got caught up in a turbelence, I started to pray to God asking him to send his angels to protect us. As I laid back in my seat trying to relax I closed my eyes I heard a whoosing sound and as I sat there with my eyes closed I saw a cherub coming down and he flew underneath the plane and as he did that I saw this being held up the plane with noth arms. This was really comforting because I was feeling a bit scared. All I can say my God is real because he send his angels to protect us from danger, hallelujah, what a mighty God we serve, God you deserve the glory because you are awesome.

The angel I saw in my room when I was 8 years old did have wings. It was a massive being and I was not afraid at the time - though I was pretty freaked out for a few days after lol. I remember that night vividly, but what stood out the most (besides it’s huge size, probably 12 feet tall, hunched over because my room was too small haha) was the living light moving inside it. I grew up dealing with a lot of fear at night so I believe God showed me my angel to help me know I was not alone.
By the way, I’m loving these videos. I just discovered this channel and despite being a Christian my whole life, I have learned so much just from the videos I’ve watched. Thank you!!

I met an angel. He looked like Santa. He spent the whole tour (I worked on a tour boat) just talking to me about Jesus and God and didn't have a care in the world other than talking to me.. He was the one who taught me how to ask for yaweh to enter my heart. And I did it and I've been forever changed since.. I fell to my knees crying when I received and heard the holy ghost for the first time.
How do I do it? How do I receive yaweh? How do I receive the holy spirit?
@@caiqueportolira Romans 10:9 says we must “declare with our mouths, and believe in our hearts.” That decision to accept Lord Jesus as your God calls Him to do as He promised - which is to save you. We must also get baptised in the name of Jesus. That is how we receive the Holy Spirit. Call on Him, repent to Him and with His help you’ll be able to overcome sin and walk in the way He intended. @auggie1.0 I hate to disagree, but I'd just like to point out that we don't get baptized IN ORDER TO be saved (have the Holy Spirit in us) but rather BECAUSE we are saved. "Declaring with our mouths and believing in our hearts" is proof enough that the Holy Spirit is working in us, and while getting baptized is a good and faithful way to SHOW that work the Holy Spirit is doing, our salvation does not DEPEND on getting baptized. Jesus paid it all, and so we have no debt left, including any physical action or demonstration. When Jesus was hanging on the cross speaking to the other men hanging with him, they were saved just hours before they died. But even though they didn't get baptized, Christ still said that they had a place in heaven.

I got baptised when I was 8 years old, I was then filled with the holy ghost as a child I use to follow my grandmother, my dad and my mom to pray for sick people in my district. I remembered when I was around 15 years old , this lady called me to her house because her baby was' nt feeling well, she had a fever and she lost her appetite so I went and prayed for her. After I left the ladys' house she called me and told me that the baby was feeling much better and she was eating. Children of God, God is real.

I’ve encountered several angels at one time. It was terrifying because they were just beings of bright and tremendous light, that gave off this power that definitely sent you into fear. I heard God’s voice saying to me, “She’s seeing angels for the first time.”

I had a dream where I met an Angel, and the angel took over my body (but I still had control) and I began to sang wonderful praises towards God. It felt amazing.
I have a dream where i meet some figure,i was so teriffied and scarry that i think i will die,but it telepaticly calm me down,i still remember that fear,hope it was a dream and he wasnt alone,it wass blurry right when i woke up,but for 2,3 minutes i was paralized,eyes open but cant move,like dome vibration in my body,remember that i run from that beign to the end of some room,and when i have nowhere to run i close eyes and wait in fear to grab me sudden i feel ok,hope it was a dream,never forget that!

I met an angel.
I was walking into a mall and I dropped my car keys and they fell apart.
I found every part except for the immobiliser chip.
I looked and looked for over 2 hours.
People came to help me find that chip.
It seemingly vanished.
Then I prayed to God and Jesus to help me find that chip.
A short time later I saw a crazy car coming down the road.
A Datsun 120Y painted army green.
Like a Harry Potter car, it never slowed down.
The car parked next to where I was looking for my immobiliser chip.
The driver walked up to me and asked me: "What am I looking for".
I told him that I was looking for a chip; I described it.
Then before the words left my mouth he found it.
He said: "There it is".
He picked it up and gave it to me.
I put my car keys back together in less than 20 seconds.
When I looked around to thank him; he and his car was gone.

I'm not Christian or religious my self and I don't really know if I believe in a God or not, but this stuff is very cool and downright beautiful sometimes. I don't chose to believe in a lot of the things the bible says because to me they seem unrealistic, but this stuff is such an inspiration speaking from an artistic point of view because to me the bible and religion is a from of art. Please I don't want any hardcore Christians attacking me on my beliefs I said my positive things and that's that.

Ever wondered what an angel would look like if you met one? Well, if the stories in the Bible offer any clues, you probably wouldn’t even know you were talking to one! In the Bible, angels are mysterious beings who often go incognito and look like people (see the stories in Genesis 19 or Judges 13 about Lot's or the wife of Manoah’s lack of awareness in meeting angels). And why do they appear in the first place? In the Bible, the word “angel” simply means “messenger,” and it can refer to both human and spiritual messengers (see Genesis 32:1-3 for both in one story!). The spiritual messengers are sent by God to communicate messages to people (Luke 1:11-13), to protect God’s people (Acts 12:6-7), or to offer comfort or provision (1 Kings 19:5-6 or Mark 1:13). No angel in the Bible is ever depicted with wings, and this is why they can be mistaken for a normal person (check out Genesis 37:15). Part of the reason people think about angels as having wings is because they are confused with the cherubim, but in the Bible, these are very different creatures. Angels look like people and can cross the boundary between heaven and earth, but the cherubim never do, nor do they ever bring messages. The role of the cherubim is to stand guard at the boundary of God’s space (Genesis 3:24), to support God’s heavenly throne (see Psalm 99:1 or 1 Samuel 4:4), and to act as his heavenly choir (Revelation 4:6-9). One fascinating thing about cherubim is their multi-form animal appearance and the fact that they look different every time they appear in the Bible. They have two wings (Exodus 25:20) or four (Ezekiel 1:6). They can appear with one face (Exodus 25:20), two faces (Ezekiel 41:18), or even four! See Ezekiel 10:14 where they have faces of a human, an ox, a lion, and an eagle. And when Isaiah describes the spiritual creatures he sees singing around God’s throne, he calls them “seraphim,” which (get ready for it) is the standard Hebrew word for “snake” (see Numbers 21:6 or Isaiah 14:29). These beings are symbolic mosaics of all the creatures of the earth. They channel all of the birdsong, barking, and bear growls into a song of praise to the Creator: “Holy, holy, holy is Yahweh God of hosts; the fullness of the earth is his glory!” (Isaiah 6:3). There’s a lot the Bible doesn’t reveal about the spiritual realm, but the glimpses we do get remind us that we live in a strange and wonderful universe that is a testament to God’s creative power and love.

My understanding of the word Seraphim is "Flaming Ones," a reference to the fact that they stand in the presence of God and His holiness. I believe 'nachash' is the Hebrew for snake: in the wilderness, God sent 'nachash saraph' - fiery serpents - upon Israel as a punishment for their sin, as you reference in Numbers 21:6. In Num 21:9, we're told that Moses made a 'nachash n'cosheth' or a bronze snake for the people to look upon, and live.

I think it's odd that you think angels having wings is a mistake - why did you make your ones fly as well then? it's a symbolic image of going between heaven and earth (as messengers), and as soon as you removed the traditional idea of wings, you had to find another way to have them fly to represent this.

Angels are often sent to Earth to help mankind as heavenly guides, protectors, and messengers. For instance, our guardian angels are always with us.
For instance, the Book of Tobit describes how the archangel Raphael takes the guise of a human to essentially go undercover as "Azarias" and aid Tobias in defeating the high ranking demon Asmodeus who was plaguing Sarah by killing her would-be husbands (for which she was blamed). And that's only a snippet of this great story from the Apocrypha.

If we had guardian angels, that would be contradicting "free will"... we don't have any and that scene doesn't mean we have some.

The difference between a contradiction and a conviction is that you can explain a conviction without getting mad. God kicked Satan out of heaven because he had "freewill" and contradicted everything that God said. Satan was an angel of light with as much "freewill" that we have. The Bible is the Holy Spirit explaining how God is more convicted on loving us than anything else _-|-_

I have never really been interested in learning about the bible. I didn't have anything while growing up to show me it was worth knowing, my family didn't go to church and instead focused solely on school. We’ve received a lot of great questions about our recent Angels and Cherubim video. One question, in particular, has been: Who or what are the seraphim in Isaiah chapter 6, and how do they relate to the cherubim? The rabbit hole, as always, is deep and fascinating! Let’s recall that the cherubim function as guardians at the boundary between heaven and earth (as in Genesis 3:24). They support Yahweh’s throne in the heavenly temple (Psalm 99:1), or carry his mobile throne-chariot that appears to prophets on earth (as in Ezekiel 9:3 and 10:1). An important fact here is that each time they appear, they look slightly different and are called by different titles. They’re “living creatures” (Ezekiel 1) or “cherubim” (Ezekiel 10). They have have two wings (Exodus 25:20) or four (Ezekiel 1:6), with one face (1 Kings 8:6-7) or two (Ezek 41:18) or four (Ezek 10:14)! This variety points to their symbolic nature. The diversity of their appearance mirrors the diversity of the earthly creatures that they represent in the heavenly realm, channeling creation’s beauty into praise to the Creator. These various titles and depictions help us understand what the prophet Isaiah (ch. 6) sees in his vision of the same heavenly throne room. He describes hybrid creatures who perform a similar role to the cherubim, but with some variations. They have six wings (instead of two or four), and they guard the divine throne with their choir song: “Holy, holy, holy is Yahweh of hosts, that which fills the land is his glory” (Isaiah 6:3). In addition, they're called seraphim only here in the Hebrew Scriptures. This uniqueness has led some people to think that seraphim are a species of spiritual being different from the cherubim, but this is unlikely. Isaiah’s vision fits the same pattern of heavenly throne guardians who have different appearances and titles when they show up in scripture. But why are they called seraphim in Isaiah chapter 6? Here's the real rabbit hole! The Hebrew word "seraphim" is one of the common Hebrew words for "snake." And if the image of winged snakes sounds crazy to you, notice that Isaiah uses the same exact word two other times where its meaning is very clear: “flying snakes” (Isaiah 14:29 and 30:6). In Isaiah chapter 14, it’s a metaphor for the ruler of Babylon, who has attempted to ascend into the heavens and usurp God’s throne (14:12-15)! Does that sound familiar? Isaiah’s seraphim are hyperlinked to the rebel cherub in Ezekiel 28:14 and to that clever snake in Genesis 3! This is why we omitted discussion of the seraphim in our Angels and Cherubim video because we’ll focus on them in our forthcoming video on The Satan and Demons. And one last thing! If you’re still not sure if the cherubim and seraphim are the same creature, check out Revelation 4:5-9, where John’s vision of the divine throne room merges imagery from all over the Hebrew Bible. He sees a crystal sky-platform (from Exodus 24:10), with living creatures (from Ezekiel 1) that have eyes all over (from the cherubim in Ezekiel 10), but they have six wings and sing “holy, holy, holy…!” (from the seraphim of Isaiah 6). In John’s apocalyptic imagination, all of these diverse heavenly creatures are really one, transforming the noise and beauty of creation into one ultimate song that honors the Creator and King of all.

Wrong. Seraphim are distinct from cherubim. The Bible distinguishes between them. Enough for me - no need to go looking for a reason not to simply believe the Bible as it simply states.

I am ABSOLUTELY fascinated by cherubims. And when you look at ancient civilizations, they too depict cherubims in the entrance of their cities, like the city of Numrut, Nimrod's main city. I know that Jesus has something special for me in Heaven in terms of the Cherubims...like, maybe a poster of them all in my awaiting mansion. Can't wait! They look so amazing to me, the way they are spoken of in Revelation, made to simply Praise God for all eternity. WOW!!!

Cherubim is plural and "cherubims" is incorrect. In Hebrew, the -im suffix is used to indicate plural. The correct singular is cherub.

God feels for his Angels like we do for our children, grandchildren, and pets. There are times when they just bask in our Aura (there, doing their own thing but in the comfort of your protection) and you look at them with complete, unconditional love.

This is amazing! I love the way you take amazingly done animations and God's word and put them into one. It warms my heart when I see people spreading the Lord's word in the new day and age.
I was still studying back then and I had to travel 4 hours from home to the place where my uni was. It was already past noon and if I didn't take the next bus I would be at my dorm way past after dark. As I was waiting at the terminal, an elderly woman sat beside me. So this bus came and parked right in front of us. I was getting ready to hop on the bus when the grandma pointed out the driver, she said "I think the driver is fixing something, don't you think the bus is not in a good shape?" I was perplexed. I didn't want to miss this one and wait for another hour but deep inside a sense of uneasiness has touched me. And then she said with a voice speaking with conviction "LET'S wait for the next bus." I was shocked. A total stranger would tell me to wait for the next bus and possibly arrive at my dorm by bedtime and I have exams tomorrow and I have to study... my mind was racing trying to weigh my decision. It's also worth mentioning that almost all the passengers took that bus and it was already crowded. But one thing felt right, that I had to OBEY. So, I sat back down at my chair and stared as the bus slowly drives out of the terminal. Later on, the next bus arrived and we gladly hopped on it after a long wait. About halfway to our destination our bus stopped unexpectedly and we can hear loud voices outside. When I looked outside the window, I can feel a cold sensation creep to the back of my head and down my spine... the first bus that we skipped broke down and went off the rode into a huge boulder! I turned towards the grandma in shock and all I can mutter was "thanks." She only returned it with a smile. What's puzzled me is that I can't remember if we disembarked from the bus together, it's as if she vanished. To end this story, I arrived at my dorm late in the night, tired, baffled, amazed, but mostly importantly SAFE! She's truly my guardian angel and I thank God for sending her. Amen 🙏🏻

Felt compelled to write my story ! My father had been so tired of cancer that he couldn't fight no more. His family needed him, he was our glue . I cried myself to sleep, then got woke up in the night to see a little figure of a man, with out wings. This man must have been 2 ft tall looked like stone ! As anyone else experienced this ?

I personally belief that the ones in revelations are Cherubim. I belief they are Seraphim because the onces in Revelation have six wings. As is described in Isaiah. In Ezechiel it is written that Cherubim only have four wings.
When the cherubims and angels appear today, people will mistake them as demons or aliens...because people are use to the idea of angels having white skin with white robes and wings playing a harp...lol
And also , when they show their holy faces today,,some military scientist will disect them to find the source of their powers...😂😂
@@edgemix498 (some) angels do have white robes. When Jesus was ascended into heaven on the mount of olives while the diciples where standing and looking then there where two men in white clothing apeared in their mids and told them that the same way Jesus went away the same way he will return.

I was visited by an Angel once. She came in a time of great confusion. She didn’t speak but I understood her purpose. It was like a great telepathic communication. There was also a dark figure trying to get my attention. He was like invisible but I could feel it. They were both communicating with me. After that I knew what to do. 🙏❤️

This is the first video I've seen by The Bible Project. I'm not even sure how I came across it. So many FEELS...my grandma was Catholic and talked about angels all the time. She said they come in all shapes and sizes, in the forms of people, animals, birds, rays of sunshine, a warm breeze. I thought a lot about her while watching this. When I was little I got my fingers stuck in a heavy door at a storefront. My mom was two thick window panes away and couldn’t hear me screaming and my brother was too little to open the air suctioned door. A tall man appeared out of no where behind me and opened the door to let my fingers loose. I ran inside to my mom and turned around to point to the man who helped me and he was gone…. No cars were around driving off, no people walking away. He appeared and went just like that. I’ve heard other stories such as my aunt who got in a car accident. She was going unconscious and said some lady was with her just comforting her and telling her everything was going to be ok, the ambulance is coming. When the ambulance got there she asked where the woman was and they and bystanders said no one was with her…. I believe on both accounts they were angels. Yes, both families are praying people of Faith in Christ.

What is veneration of saints?

--> ask them to pray for us.
So it's completely different to idolary. Idolary means to have st least one God.
When you venerate saints, you don't see them as God, but you ask them to pray for you or call them blessed. When you call them blessed, you praise the works that God's grace allowed them to do [John 15, 1-8]. When you praise ther faith, you also praise the gift of God. So praising saints means praising God.
When we ask them to pray for us, they do and they are with God in heaven and cleaned from all sins, so their prayer is strong [James 5, 16]. And we know, that, when we receive through their prayer what we wanted, it's a gift from God [James 1, 17].
Can the saints hear us? Of course they can, because we are connected in the mystical body of Christ through His Holy Spirit.
So it's no idolary and it's usefull, because the saints can better oray than we can, because we are still sinners. I know, that we are sons amd daughters of God and redeemed, but I don't belief that I can pray as good as the mother of our lord can.
The rosary consista mainly of the Our Father and the Hail Mary, both are absolutly biblical (the end of the Hail Mary is not in the bible, but from the Holy Spirit given throught saint Cyrill of Jerusalem).
In the rosary we think on the secrets of our salvation, that's perfect to understand them better and be grateful to God.
When praying the Hail Mary would be a sin, then the Archangel Gabriel [Luke 1, 28] and Elisabeth [Luke 1, 42] would have sinned in this greetings. Thats unlogic.
Through the rosary many people came closer to God and many wonders happened. Also a christian telled me today, that, through the rosary the learned how to pray. So remember: "but test everything; hold fast what is good."

I’m convinced I saw an angel.
Long story short - I had torn my Achilles but some girls prayed for me and it was healed. About a week later I was with a group of college students doing some ministry on a college campus. I saw a guy walking on crutches and in a boot. I turned my head to tell my co-leader I wanted to pray for him. As soon as I turned back he had vanished. While my group and k looked for him, it turned into a giant group of about 200 students hearing about Jesus. But only because we turned back to find the guy on crutches so I could pray for him.
Whoever does the sound design on these videos deserves a Grammy--really serious stuff!!!
Even though I'm a Strong Theist now after denouncing the faith seven years ago, I may still subscribe just because of how much I enjoy the animations and sound; a very talented gathering of individuals indeed.

At age 7, I asked God to show me what he wants me to know, what he wants to teach me now, after pausing for a moment I slid my fingertips up the pages of the bible until a page stuck to my fingertip and I opened that page. it was the Book of Ezekiel where in a dream or trance Ezekiel saw many types of angels. It was then that my teacher taught me that an Angel's form simply reflects the angel's purpose or job to do. this is the simplicity of God's thinking.

The people freak out when angels show up because of "Glory". "Glory" can hurt a lot. And if people been hurt just for talk to someone, then fear appear.

@@jay_ramirez02 I have developed more reasons over time, but initially I was about 17 when I started developing questions pertaining to the discrepancies between the moral standards of the new and old testaments, how god actually interacts with us in the present, and historical and scientific contradictions found when taking the Bible literally (I was a fundementalist baptist). Pascal's wager kept me a Christian for about 3 more years until I realized that I could not justify believing in an omnibenevolent god out of fear

I am so glad that The Bible Project does these videos! I am an art teacher at a private school (I teach from elementary through high school), which means there is a lot of talk time while students work on their projects together. Yesterday the subject of Angels came up with my middle schoolers, and it lead to soo many questions and branched out to other conversations on spiritual beings and other things. I am glad to say that I remembered this video and during their lunch period those students (and others not from this class came with curiosity) watched this video and had many more questions!! Today my kids had even more questions and had said they watched the bible project at home the other night, so amazed at what was taught!! I was able to minister to these young people and grab their attention with the help of your videos. Thank you all for the hard work that you do!!

Angels are probably why people feel “uncanny valley” about something that looks somewhat human but are off. Clearly under Christ we have nothing to fear though.

My youth group has been doing the bible project and recently finished the books of the Bible(revelation)
I am really interested in divine beings, most of my own original characters have some association or is a divine being.

I wonder if they truly look like griffons with different heads or if their humanoid with four heads. Angels are truly magnificent, praise and worship be to The LORD whom made all of these wonderful creatures!
Interesting tidbit: I heard somewhere (I think it was in a book discussing Dragons/Dinosaurs) that most cultures (especially older ones) added wings on to figures to represent spiritual significance. The examples in that book were figurines of a tiger with wings, another living creature with wings (I can't remember what it was, though, it's been a while since I read that book), and a fairly decent depiction of a Dinosaur with wings (again, it's been a while, I can't remember what type of dinosaur). That fact stuck with me, and I think it's fair to apply it to how Angels got wings in pop-culture/media.

So I watched this a while back and I don’t know if it means anything commenting this or if anyone will see it but I recently took the online name of ArduousCherubim. I changed it but a few weeks later had a dream of being in a garden space at night. I saw animals all over and there was a light following me like and untraceable spotlight. I got a better look at one opposed to the others and he was intimidating, as if he knew me and was watching me. Like he was sent on a mission to. He had these white glowing eyes and looked lion like with wings and thin tail. He was on a tree. I also got to pet a cheetah like creature. I woke up and didn’t think anything of the dream until I saw the beginning of this video on tik tok reminding me of what cherubim were. So I’m convinced I actually visited gods temple in a dream space. This gave me a form of hope within the darkness I’ve been in for a while.

Not religious but learning about angels and the council is incredibly interesting! This is a very well made video and I look forward to watching a few more in the future :)
