    social security budget-- After 5+ years I cant afford to NOT eat carnivore. I easily eat for $5 per day. Figure it out. Right now I can buy eggs for $1.66 per lb, When buying large eggs take the dozen price times 2 and divide the result by 3 for the per lb price. Bone in pork shoulders for $1.89, chicken hind quarters $7 for a 10 lb bag, 85% lean hamburger for $2.99, butter for $3.48 and beef chuck roll or clod for $4.99. I dont have a Sams or a Costco within 120 miles of me. Eating outside of the home is a rare thing.

      I just figure eggs as 1 egg=1oz meat
      Becuz it does, 1oz meat is 7g protein, so is an egg
      12 eggs is 12oz meat
      Or 36 eggs is 2 1/4lb meat.
      I buy 8-12 dozen eggs at once, my 2 still home eat 7 eggs btwn them almost daily

I live in Houston and lost all my meat in the freezer that I have accumulated after the hurricane and no power for about a week. Cleaning out my fridge and so motivated to fill her up with nothing but meat,butter and eggs. Awesome timing that I ran into your video, your definitely legit when I seen you space up the bags to seal cause that’s what I did too.

    Picanha (top sirloin cap and some nearby parts of the biceps femoris muscle, with that distinctive fat cap) is getting more available and popular here in Florida. Usually $7 to $8 a pound. Occasionally less on sale. Cooks very nicely sous vide, a bit tougher than ribeye steak, and almost all the fat is in that fat cap: a carnivore needs to eat the fat cap as well.

    Hello, from 🇨🇦Toronto, Canada.
    Thank you for teaching me how to salt properly. AND…
    I love the way you use the gloves to keep the vacuum bag even. You just showed me an improved way of using my vacuum sealer! I do portion my meat due to the fact that I am only one person. And I freeze my meats. I only shop the best meat sales…for every long weekend in Summer.
    Our meat prices are crazy high in 🇨🇦Canada…so I really plan and save money for the sales. T-bone, Rib Eye, NY Strip all go on sale $8.00/lb. Or less… Top sirloin $6.99/lb.
    I love it when my favourite grocer literally gives meat away. I can fill my freezer for $225.00🇨🇦 Where the bottom of the store receipt says…you saved $255.00 on this order‼😋😋😋I saved more than I spent…NO, SIR, YOU ARE CORRECT…CARNIVORE WAY OF LIFE IS NOT EXPENSIVE AT ALL‼‼‼It is only delicious!

    You are so correct in putting a spacer under your meat when vacuum sealing. So many people do not demonstrate that and it does make a big difference when using a sealer. It seems like if you do not do that process it pulls the bag out of the channel.

    I love this video! I also use your seasoning. I can do this. I will look around but where do you most typically buy your whole ribeye? Do you most typically Grill your steaks or do you cook them in a cast iron pan? I usually Grill mine about 6 minutes on each side which is a perfect medium well and fat is ready to eat.
    You mentioned Walmart putting whole chicken in the freezer. Where exactly in the store, where you live, do they put it? Here where I live, whole chicken is just too high even at Sam's Club. I have a vacuum sealer and I usually do this on a slightly smaller scale. Like you, I can make a 1 lb steak disappear and my wife only eats about half of that. Thanks

    • @castIroncookware
      @castIroncookware  Місяць тому +4

      I cook a lot and the Blackstone because it is easier most of the time for multiples at the same time but it is hard to beat a good thick cast iron pan. I get the surface scorching hot before I put the steak on and it's just a couple of minutes on each side. It's a little smoky, so you need a good fan. The Blackstone helps with that because it's outside. Usually Walmart will put the unsold Rotisserie chickens in the cold section of the deli when they mark them down.

    • @BeverlyJones46
      @BeverlyJones46 Місяць тому +1

      Sam's club roasted chicken is $4.98. It is cheaper than $8 @ Kroger. I watch for marked down meats and shop the sales. I recently got a whole brisket for $1.87/lb on sale with the digital coupon. There was a limit of 2. I divided it into 5 sections which will give me 2+ meals each cut. Total cost less than $15. I also caught ribeyes on sale.
      Get a good freezer and sealer. Yes i am on a fixed income however my ex used to say i could squeeze the last drop out of a penny.

    Going back on carnivore and my mom is curious of this (she has heart issues and 260 lbs). I’m showing her my way of transitioning to lion diet. I know that for myself I can’t go in 100% lion right away bc I have to purge my body of the fungi that make me crave sugar and carbs. For me, first stage is eating meat(even if it has sugar in it or deep fried) and cheat with low carb veggies and berries. My body will tell me when to start eliminating the produce then deep fried stuff to the point where it’s 100% meat. Then I’ll notice the sugar on my palette they put on meat and will turn towards whole meat and eventually to just red meat and then my electrolytes will change to the no substitute sugar in it or flavoring.

    • @dannyc9784
      @dannyc9784 Місяць тому +3

      Not sure he said lol. What I do is dry brine my steaks in the fridge, I salt them liberally and put them on a rack with a tray underneath for catching liquids, just make sure they are not touching each other, I like to flip them every 12 hours so the wet side(bottom dries out more evenly. They can last for weeks like this, though I usually like to cook them within 3-4 days or they dry out a bit to much for my taste. It's a game changer! you get such an amazing sear on them in your cast iron pan with the drier outer surface and med rare/rare on the inside. Another trick if you have the patience for it, is when you get your cast iron up to med/high temp don't cook 1 side then the other. Flip every 30 secs till the outside is golden brown on both sides much more evenly cooked & less gray bands. Good luck!!
