      Does it taste eggy? The eggy taste is why I've avoided most low/no-carb "breads."
      I know if overcooked, it tastes more eggy. I'm wondering if ricotta or mascarpone would make a difference in an eggy flavor..

    I call myself ketovore. I allow myself small amounts of non-meat seasoning and toppings. Fish, meat, and eggs make up over 95% of my calories. I don't seem to have any issues with (zero sugar) seasonings, small amounts of cheese, or small amounts of low carb veggies. I believe I am more strict than many people who call themselves carnivore but TBH I don't really care what people call me. My goal is excellent metabolic health and I am doing well on my current meat-based diet.

      I am a bit like you. 95% of my diet is critters. I don't have any adverse reactions from anything but I'm still pretty strict about things like sugar and disgusting seed oils which I know are inflammatory even if I don't see it right away. A little bit of avocado or some lettuce for crunch in my wrap or onion on my burger is okay with me. Wouldn't eat it if it affected me adversely. But I'm a wild card because if once every couple months I want an ice cream cone, I'll go buy one. I'm glad I don't have to be as strict as some people. Oh the healing I've experienced!

      I'm about the same. I'm carnivore, but not super strict. I mainly eat eggs and meat, but also a bit of dairy, mainly cheese(and butter of course), occasionally some cream. But I allow myself spices, tea, coffee, cocoa, and occasionally a bit of dark chocolate(80%+). Saturday is my "cheat day." (a little bit of Chocolate allowed, 10g of regular 80%+, or 25g if no added sugar, which I have with a glass of cream, about 2dl/6.7oz).

    2 years in - now it's beef, butter (LOTS of butter), bacon, eggs, avacado, sourkraut, salt, and balsamic vinegar. Sometimes chicken wings or shrimp for fun. I gave up dairy and sweeteners. I used to use so many spices and condiments, but finally started using only salt, and it's really retrained my palate to appreciate plain food. Much easier for me to stay animal based now. • @EatBeefBeHealthy
      @EatBeefBeHealthy 17 днів тому +2

      @@Livingmybethlife ... I've done it a couple of ways, but the easiest is using my Instant Pot on yogurt setting. Thirty minutes on high yogurt setting. It'll say boil and then when ready changes to Yogurt and shuts off. Then I pour about 1/2 cup white vinegar in the milk and let it sit for 30 minutes. Strain using cheesecloth or whatever cloth you have. Let it drain for about 30 minutes. Cottage cheese is ready to use. I just used a 1/2 gallon of milk. The recipe called for 1 gallon, but the 1/2 gallon gave me 2 cups of cheese. Do a search bar search for making cottage cheese. You can do it by cooking on top of stove to 190 deg F. If you do, you have to be careful to not do it fast or too high of a temp. Once I started using it in my Instant Pot, I never did the stove top method again. Good luck, You can make cream cheese, too. Same method... just blend the curds.

    This recipe really reminded me of the filling we use in a traditional Greek dish called Tiropita, there is also a version with spinach called Spanakopita. Anyhow, I have been making the cottage cheese version for a while now, but after watching your video a couple of weeks ago, I thought, it's basically the same as the Tiropita I grew up with. So I just substituted the cottage cheese with feta cheese, and some whole cream ricotta (fewer carbs than cottage cheese), seasoned it with pepper (optional), baking the exact same way as you recommend, and which is the same way of baking Tiropita. It made me so happy to have that flavor again, it is literally like eating the dish I grew up with, without any carbs. For anyone who is a fan of Greek food, give that a try. It's amazing.

    I am Carnivore since 2015. A few months a go I incorporated fermented low oxalate and low carb foods to help my gut microbiome as it was good before. Feeling so much better. I won't eat any plant foods that aren't fermented.

    Tried this first time today. First batch split it into two batches and got thin carnivore bread. Second bath, baked the whole thing in one pan and got the thick bread as seen in the video. Both were a hit with the husband and kids, personally I like the thinner ones more.
    We'll definitely be making more batches and freezing. Thank you!!!🎉🎉

    Wow this recipe looks awesome, can’t wait to try it! I’m 9 days into animal-based and feel great. I eat mostly beef, eggs, raw milk, cheese, and butter, but will also have seafood, chicken, and pork, and the occasional avocado, yogurt, honey, deviled eggs (mayo, mustard, relish), and fruit. Back in 2020 I went carnivore for 4 months and got into the greatest shape of my life (lost 35 pounds and was hiking weekly). Unfortunately I gave into cravings and went through some super stressful life events and totally fell off the wagon. I’m in my 30s and the last year or so really noticed my health slowly declining 😢 But I’m bouncing back quickly. If others can do it, so can I! I’m so grateful for the online carnivore community.

      Use allulose-based syrups instead of honey - honey has fructose in it, and it will keep you addicted to sugar!

      @carlaogden 21 день тому +1

      @@kristineweber8084 Thanks for your suggestion. I can tolerate date syrup and molasses, so those are acceptable. I have also found that a little bit of honey doesn’t make me spiral into a sugar addiction (believe me I am definitely a recovering sugar addict). Plus, the medicinal benefits of raw honey are so amazing, I will always keep it in my pantry! 😀

    When I first started carnivore, I went a week without anything but bacon and eggs, but then the carbs addiction kicked in and I added frozen cherries and blue berries to plain full fat Greek yogurt and I loved it! But then last week, without warning, I was repulsed by the yogurt and fruit and craved just meat, butter and beef tallow. I take a tablespoon full of grass fed beef tallow every morning before I do my fast walking with weights routine. And since it's so hot right now, we're making carnivore ice cream in an ice cream maker (4 quarts) and eating some every day, We LOVE IT! So without trying, i ended up going carnivore, because my body wanted too.

    Girl, I could be carnivore 24/7 if it weren’t for that last week in my cycle. I still remain whole food/package free but I become really obsessed with sweet potatoes, berries and honey during that time. It’s obviously hormones and I’m not willing to ignore such a clear and concise statement from my body so I include those things in my diet at least that time of the month. My family always does massive amounts of watermelon and berry-picking in the summer as well which is not a tradition I’m giving up any time soon regardless of how well I feel on an animal-centric diet

    • @caroliner1901

      That’s interesting - I’m the same week before period- but last week I tried sth different - I went hardcore carnivore for 7 days and had no pms anxiety, 2 hours cramps (usually have 2-3 days pain) and felt amazing. Sooo wierd - looked in the mirror and some wierd glowing woman looked back - my partner commented and seemed drawn to me more than usual.
      I also tried it for chronic nerve pain (had 2 years and on meds) which gets worse after ovulation and lasts until period arrives. Last week only 2-3 hours of worrying twinges but no pain. Zero nerve pain 🎉 I couldn’t believe it.
      So for all these bothersome issues I will go hard on carnivore before period and when I get the cravings - eat more pork belly fat to fill up.

    Animal based lets me keep mineral balance pretty well. Fruits, herbs and veggies give me a spectrum, and I take magnesium because 90% of us should do that. Sometimes I use potassium chloride added to broth, too. Not my whole list, but you might be inspired.
