To really discover the boxer GS one need to ride it over 10000km , after that you start to understand the wanderfull adventure package it offers. Switching gears with shift assist is weird at the beginning but after some practice is becoming very natural. Awesome motorcycle, probably best ever made big adventure on the market.
Lets just state the obvious, The BMW 1250 GS is the Gold Standard. It is the most versatile machine out there. It's not a drag bike, not a cruiser, not a Moto X, certainly not a GP, It doesn't win every category, but places on the podium every time. man has to know his limitations. I'm not Valentino Rossi. The Beemer is perfect in thine eyes.
Try in on dirt roads with the knobbies with full luggage. I think the comparison would be complete. GS strength is doing a little bit of everything very well (it's not excellent in one area) - 2up with luggage, touring, offroad, or a trip to your favorite cafe. Appreciate the review in english
Really enjoyed this comparison, its the V4 for me !! service intervals every 9000miles plus 4 years warranty, she is a bit thirsty but if I wanted to buy a bike with good fuel consumption I would buy a moped.
Yup, by all accounts, this seems to be the case. Not to mention, the adaptive cruise control and blind spot detection have also mostly received rave reviews!

I love Ducati and I’m eager to test the new multi V4. IMO V2 was far away from BMW S1000XR which probably is the direct competitor of Multi.

Thank you very much for this video! A month ago, I decided between the new MS V4S and R1250 GS. I am very happy and look forward to my GS, which will arrive in this march from Berlin. I'm afraid one must really love Ducati to forgive her horrible transmission.
Well done, thanks! I have a question wrt full weight (6:13). Can you be more specific? We can see GS with engine guards and auxiliary lights while V4S is pretty stripped down. Did you put paniers as well? I would assume yes, as the GS wet weight is 249kg and V4S 243kg - both with 90% filled fuel tanks, and you got 270kg during the test. Cheers
And the price differentials ? Roughly BMW £13,500 against Ducati £15,400 for the basic. My son tells me the roads in Croatia are super considered against the roads in the UK.
Not ridden a modern Ducati but after three GSs I’m quite happy with my present GSA, it’s the package that makes the difference, a bike you can do anything on. Ducati looks and goes great but friends’ have had a lot of issues with electrics etc. especially in the wet, not good in an adventure bike. Only had one big issue with my GSs, quickly sorted under warranty.
