I've had the good fortune to tour FLW homes all over the country, and I have to say that this was one of the most informative tours I've ever had! Mr. Henderson not only gives detailed explanations of the architectural features, but injects occasional entertaining anecdotes that definitely augment his presentation. I particularly liked the one about the height of the showerhead accommodating the female client's salon-styled hair - brilliant! And that sunken garbage can with a rock on its lid was wonderful. A spectacular setting and a truly beautiful house. Thank you!

We’ve toured almost every Frank Lloyd Wright residence east of the Mississippi River, rented two of them, plus many commercial buildings and Florida Southern College. We don’t remember the garbage arrangements ever being mentioned. 😂✔️

One of the best conducted video tours of a house that I've seen on UA-cam. The host was very well prepared and made important comments throughout the tour that made it more than the "usual wright commentary" that comes with less capable presenters. This has always been one of my favorite Wright houses and I hope to visit it some day in the future.

Giving your trash man a 'nice Christmas present' is a family tradition for my wife and I. Our trash man here in the countryside of Central Texas has been very accommodating especially when we moved back to this old family farm in 2020 and he took away all that we piled up by the one trash bin. It is very satisfying to share what we have with others.

Probably my favorite house design, so dramatic against the backdrop of the ocean. Wright had experimented with houses that hug the seashore, but they were usually vertically oriented. The horizontal connection to the ground near the shore makes it look right where it needs to be. Wright was at his best when it came to connections to water, be it Fallingwater or this.

Wright's designs are wonderful pieces of sculpture. Everybody seems instantly drawn to them (including myself). But he always seemed to be weak when it came to engineering. Having to rebuild the seawall would be something a 1st year engineer could spot. And I can remember reading about how they had to close "Falling Water" for a long time to put more steel into it as all the cantilevered sections were sagging. But I'm still glad these projects got built even with their flaws and how they inspired many of Wright's disciples to create even grander works. I'm especially fond of John Lautner's work that clearly continues the Frank Lloyd Wright legacy.

      Oh please do come!
This home is like a jewel, and the shoreline is transformed from attractive to beautiful with it's addition- a true rarity on our glorious natural coasts.

Wonderful tour and an amazing house. We live in a house in east Texas, in the oil rich pine tree forests, that is 112 years old. We are only the second family to own and live in this house. We have lived here for 35 years and reared our 6 daughters here, three of them from 5, 1 and one was actually conceived here and lived here until she graduated college and moved away. While I know quite a bit about the original owner, I do not know who designed it or who built it. I wish I did and have spent many hours trying to obtain that information. You are so lucky that your family put such a high personal value on what your great-grandmother loved and valued so you have it to enjoy today. I wish I knew as much about my own great-grandmothers lives. Congratulations!

What a wonderful opportunity to be guided through this home by a family member. I think the experience of the viewers’ connection to the house is much more effective. I love this house and always look forward to driving by when I visit Carmel.

THIS HOME EMITS A FEELING OF PEACE IN A SETTING UNDUPLICATED IN MY LIFE. WRIGHT MUST HAVE GAINED INSPIRATION FROM DELLA’S LETTER OF INTRODUCTION. YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF AN INCREDIBLE FAMILY FULL OF ART APPRECIATIVE INDIVIDUALS.THIS IS ONE OF THE FINEST HOME TOURS I HAVE WITNESSED EXCELLENTLY FILMED FLOWS MARVELOUSLY.YOU HAVE BEEN AN INCREDIBLE HOST

This is my favorite FLW creation! Talk about an inspired use of light, space and materials. Who’d have thought that plywood could be used so beautifully? Kudos to the presenter for doing such an excellent job in taking us on the tour of this architectural gem. I envy him that this house is still in his family and that he can visit and stay in it when he wishes to!

I’m so fortunate to have toured this home last year before it sold. I hope the new owners understand the importance of this home to Wright’s canon and to architecture in general.

This is the third time I’ve watched this video. What a magnificent home in such a wild and gorgeous location. I am 72 and recall seeing pictures of it as a kid and knowing it was one of Mr Wright’s home. This and Falling Water are my favorite places that he designed. You are so lucky that your family still owns the property and you have kept it in its originality and well maintained. Your story lines about the property and its construction were very informative and interesting while not going into a dissertation on Frank Lloyd Wright. Thank you so much. ❤

WOW. Great tour. Loved the low shower head story. The living room has been the lock screen on my iphone for years. Heard it was sold Feb 2023 for 22 million. So I guess the dream of someday seeing it at the Carmel Heritage tour is over.

Of all the buildings Frank Lloyd Wright did, this has got to be my absolute favorite.
I have no words to explain the sheer beauty of this structure.
I love all the buildings FLW did but, this one is just spectacular.
    What an amazing documentary.
