    Informative video man. Feel 100% comfortable doing this myself now with a small amount of mechanical knowledge.
    I have two free services from my dealer but after that I'll be doing it myself.
    Did you find after the oil change the engine was quieter and didn't produce as loud a tick as it normally does?

    Very helpful as I just bought one of these, and am still trying to find out where everything is. For a three-cylinder in particular, it's also the quietest car I've owned.

    Couple of points...once your underneath undo the oil filter a little while your hands are oil free ..makes it easier..Also no good looking at the oil stick while the cars up on axle stands ..Also just put 4.5 litres of oil and check it while it's on flat surface..Other then that ok

    Best video and most entertaining one on the subject.
    Cheers mate.

    using a pitcher to fill the oil... what a simple but brilliant idea! Here I've been awkwardly trying to use the dip stick or barely legible fluid level marks on the oil jug and making a mess for years now... thanks for educating this idiot lol

    Just for info, using non-Castrol oil won't void the warranty. So long as it meets the spec for the car any oil is fine. The green dye is no longer used by Castrol.

    Have you driven the 5w30 an hole year?Problems with the Engine?I would like to take 5w30 instead of the 5w20!Greets from Germany :-)

      +TheCncmeister Hey man, thanks for the comment! Yea the previous garage put in 5w30 instead of 5w20. No problems at all with the engine, can't tell a different tbh but the manual wants 5w20 so that's what it'll get from me :)

    You got a link to the correct oil? I seen a guy doing an oil change on another channel and he said "it don't matter what oil you use as long as it's right viscosity! I have heard different, due to the wet belt!

    Great video good job you changed that oil when you did shame ford put the wrong type in .

    Great video. It’s absolutely critical that the correct oil is used for these engines. Also go for the top brand. Don’t try to save money on such an important part of your engine.

    I heard that you best changing the spark plugs every service as they burn out is that right?

    • @_multiverse_
      @_multiverse_ 6 років тому

      Dave b ? WoT M8 ? Plugs are usually good for something like 35k

      @michaelpdrock1 5 років тому +1

      Not at all. Don't where you've read or been told that. Heck, Iridium plugs are meant to be (MEANT) good for 100k!

    I'm just watching this because you have a 1.0EB and I'm watching every vid on it possible since I'm buying one.... But dude, you don't need to lube your drain plug...

    Glad you did this as my daughter just got a Focus SE sport. This is really a way simple task to change the oil. I have to comment you sure make it look a lot harder then it actually is and a bit more messy a job then it has to be. Never the less I was curious on the 1.0 how the engine sits in compartment and it looks easy to get to everything for future work replacing components. Thanks

    If that engine had 5w30 in even once then that wet belt is dead in about 2 years

    • @gamesmaster1060
      @gamesmaster1060 Рік тому +1

      That didn't happen to me. Anyway how does a slightly different viscosity destroy the belt lol

    Excellent video. My car was coming up to it's first service after one year 7,500 miles.
    I made two ramps out of an old sleeper to give myself working space under the car. I was concerned that the original oil filter wouldn't come off easily and it is awkward to get to, but it did and I needn't have worried. I used Castrol 5W20 to Ford specification WSS-M2C 948-B as stated in the manual. I like to do car servicing myself because I've no faith in Ford (sorry Ford servicing but you only get 4/10). Also saved myself £100 but most important is knowing the job has been done right. The most difficult thing in the end turned out to be the fiddly panel - so many Torx 25 screws, but once that was off it was not a difficult job. Wear old clothes and wait for a warm dry day.

    Great video. Undertrays are a pain in the arse best thing that ever happened to my mk1 mondeo is it fell off at high speed and disintegrated under the car. I won't go under a car with jacks or stands but luckily I have long arms so can do it without with car on the end of a driveway (effectively gives more room under front). Thanks.
    Edit who tf tightened a sump nut so much you need a torque wrench bar that long to undo it?
