Suggestions: pre-fill the new oil filter before installing and start car with gas pedal fully depressed (flood mode). Engine will crank without starting until gas pedal is released. Helps pressurize oiling system FASTER before full start.
Prefilling the filter is the easiest way to get contaminates into your engine. Unless your filter calls for prefilling (like on big diesel engines), there's absolutely no need for any of that.
@@MikePerremanYou could also get contaminants into a new dry filter if you're careless in allowing contaminants to get into it. I'm still prefilling my oil filters when mounting allows it.
No there should be on already installed on your drain plug it’s a black rubber one that usually stays sunken into the drain plug when you pull it out and it’s fine reusing it.
So helpful. I just got done changing the oil on my mother's car. Just out of the shop for clutches in the automatic tranny. Cost 2,000 Dollars. Can you do a video on that?
Thank you. I actually just finished doing the dual clutch in a ford focus which will be pretty much the same as the fiesta. I’m in the process of editing it now and should be out next week.
SO EASY. I’ve always owned mid 90’s/early 2000’s Japanese commuters. This focus is growing on me a bit I didn’t like it at first but starting to really like it. Couldn’t pass up a 5speed hatch with 45k miles when I needed a new car. How do you like yours?
Clear & consice- just what the DYI mechanic needs. Thx.
Thank you for this video, very simple and well explained!
Is there a HIGHER CAPACITY filter that will work in place of the standard one?
I don’t believe so.

Not necessary. But if you really want to do it, go ahead.
Not necessary at all

Thank you so much for this great video.. I will change oil tomorrow at 6am.. now do i need to change my drain plug washer??
No need to replace the washer I reuse mine all the time.
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE Much appreciated, keep up the videos pls!
Did you have to add a gasket to the drain plug?

Great video, start to finish - thanks!
should you prefill the new oil filter to avoid dry starts?
No need to do that because then your putting unfiltered oil in your engine
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE Unfiltered yes but pure
what size of wheel is on that one
15 inch
Thanks.
What is the torq of the drain plug bolt when reinstalling?
21 ft/lbs
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE thanks! 👍 Seems like everyone skips that important part in the vids. Definitely do not want to over tighten.
Great video with clear instructions!
yeah that light reset will come on at around the 8,000 to 10,000. It has happened to me so... but yeah thanks for the video.
thanks so much, will be doing it just after this video !
I have a diesel engine.can I used a 5.30 oil. Thanks
Yes you can use a multi grade 5w30 oil in diesel but it will cause internal engine issues eventually
Thank you very much
Thanks Blue

Because you need to reset the sensor
