I'm also not even expression my opinion, this is actual fact. This is the reason they re record the voice over. It's because of people not being able to understand it. So piss off
@Myself andI maybe you should do some research then instead of complaining like a little girl on the internet. When you're complaining like this on UA-cam comments it makes me wonder how anyone likes Americans
what you should do is clean it with Betadine, super glue it shut, wrap it with clean gauze and tape and keep it clean and dry. (as best you can) They use a type of super glue at the emergency room, but I can tell you first hand, super glue out in the real world does just fine in a pinch and barely leaves a scar. I've had to do it multiple times when medical care was too far off. Taylor, however, may just need bubble wrap and a rubber room! Poor guy
@Myself andI Well, I am not an idiot for crying out loud! If the injury is bad enough, you don't go back on deck, stay in and keep it clean and dry. I know they are wet, 100% of the time.....I had family who were crabbers and long haulers.....Most of the time, they suck it up and continue on. I've had cousins lose the ends of fingers and continue on. Being too far out to come back in, unless it is a live or die situation. Do what ya gotta do. When at rest, in your bunk, clean it, dry it and be glad you are alive. As I know, all of them are. Cheers! xoxo
Taylor shoulda taken that chunk Casey cut off and put it in a bait bag for the next set. Coulda called it Taylor's pot. Although if it worked really well I may have feared for his life...
One of the senior deck hands was accidentally stabbed with his own knife. Its there and gone blink and you miss it mentioned. Personally, I think they should have given the knife wound more attention
Gotta say, that Taylor kid takes his lumps. He's lucky! The pot is 600 pounds empty... add the crab and 2 shots of leadline, and there's enough weight to clip the end of your finger off like a shear!
I once went to hit a chisel with my hammer and missed and hit my finger. It hurt bad, really bad. I didn't realize the extent until I took my glove off and seen it was broke. No need for a drug test (lol) so I took some finger length bolts and electrical tape, went to the bathroom and wrapped it up and went back to work
I think ill fit in that crew perfect just need a orange tape around me saying ( hazzard stay away from me) whats worse auto tech injuries or fishing boat injuries.😁😁😁💪💪💪🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕
That bit of skin shouldn't have been removed. Should have cleaned the finger well and under the flap and then secured it with some dressing. That's common sense. The skin would have grown back onto the finger and been a barrier for germs and debris as it healed. It would have grafted itself back on naturally.
Everytime I wonder why I don't go work up in Alaska I see this shit lol. I used to be a heavy equipment mechanic for about 5 years, even that is dangerous enough to put ya on yer toes. But this is a whole other level of safety hazardous.
Dude stabbed himself by accident and yanno boss mans like I NEED YOU OUT THERE. uhm nah home boy needs to take it easy you dont know if he punctured an organ or what
Anybody with a basic knowledge of the human anatomy knows the only organ in that location is a lung and he would know immediately as to wether or not he hit it
@@OhKindSir Any one with MORE than Basic Knowledge, Knows that One can bleed out from a Single leaky blood vessel and never know they are dying until they are dead...

Seen it myself when a guy shot himself in the back with a Staple gun, less than 1/16 of an inch hole.. Punctured a vein in his lower back and he was dead 3 hours later from internal bleeding. Never underestimate a puncture wound.. They Usually Kill Months or years later by infection.
U dont know that quick if u puncture something in most cases. Also u dont know how much blood is pooling inside you. Hemotomas can take 12 hours to a couple days and they keep expanding. Im probably the idiot that would medically assess myself since I'm qualified and then go back to work.
@@OhKindSir that looks like it could be behind the lung or JUST under it. Hard to tell in that quick shot of it though..but hes pulling the tissue closer to the front so he can see it. I d be hella worried about infection with that knife though. If i remember right most boats keep biotics on board though.
The knivess that they refer to as a "Vicky", Are made by Vitorinox, with surgical stainless steel that can hold an edge sharp as a razor. Most of these guys have 1 or 2 on them. They use them throughout the day, and then forget they are wearing them into a bar. NOT TO PANIC!! Are they shuffling around in rubber boots, Like they already have half a beer buzz? Ok, Those guys just got off the boat.
Ive worked with grown men that will try to get out of a weeks worth a work if they even did half of the damage to their finger that the kid did to his.
That’s not even enough to stop working for most commercial fisherman. I kept hauling traps with a finger the size of a cucumber from bait poisoning. Just to brush it up against anything was excruciating. That was a joke, they should get rid of him before he really gets hurt
@@partridgepimp3363 what’s “bait poisoning”, is that an infection caused by contact with all the nasty bacteria from the bait fish? Or is it something caused by a specific bacteria/toxin like Seal Finger? Never been fishing, only been on a boat a few times, so I know nothing about it. Big respect for anyone tough enough to do it; I know I’m not.
jameson allen this is the Uk narrator, if actually watch the show on tv Mike Rowe narrates the US version only and has for 14 seasons with 15th season started
Always leave them skin flaps on, it acts like a shield for the wound so it doesn't hurt as much when you hit it on stuff. It just dries out then falls off or you cut it off with no pain because it's dead.
I'm a British veiwer, Ive seen so many preventable injuries. At work in the UK we would be required to wear steel toe caped shoes or boots & most certainly hard hats, that's actually the law, employers could be prosecuted for failing to enforce these legal requirements. There seems to be no protection for North American workers, no health & safety & not a lot of common sense either. Either way it is a dangerous job, but footwear to protect the feet & head helmets would reduce the deck accidents by at least 50%.
@Catch your goals they make rubber boots with very thin but strong steel toe caps, would add very little weight. But the hard hats would protect 100%, hard plastic, padded. Another thing I notice is how the captains get hot under the collar because of amateur screw ups by the deck hands, why not invest a little more time into what we call, "best practice", meaning easier & efficient ways of working the boat, hands on teaching by deck captain & ships captain, shouting & having a fit means you've failed as the vessels master, to lead by example. No more 30 hour shifts, tired men massively increasing possble catastrophic mistakes.
@@shaungillingham4689 exactly i would be wearing some kind of bike helmet whilst on deck for sure when that shit gets iced up, the next thing you know or dont know youre in a hospital bed trying to learn how to walk and talk again why they dont make their guys wear lightweight helmets i dont know it would save lives.
@@jplester9719 hi there, yes we would also identity that poor training & bad working practices can also lead to accidents, 20, 30 hour shifts is undoubtedly a recipe for disaster, like playing Russian roulette with a revolver, sooner or later your luck may run out. Further more i don't know the details concerning the license that the fishing boats are required, but in British waters im certain such a vessel would have to qualify as sea worthy before it could legally plie its trade, im not convinced the regulations are as rigorously enforced in the US fishing fleet or that the standards required are as high as it is in many other 1st world countries. Also medical treatment seemed to be administered by the captains, but again in Britain i know that the "first aider" has to train & be qualified, i didn't see any direct evidence in the shows that it was a legal requirement. Health & safety & workers rights in the US are still back in the stone age, their policy seems to be to build a hospital at the bottom of the cliff, instead of a fence at the top of the cliff. All that nonsense of "working through" your injuries & being a "man" was an extremely foolhardy policy, far more stupid than brave & didn't take in to considerations of the injured individuals. Id never want a job in north America.
@CYG_Virginia in Britain you can buy rubber boots with steel toe caps, its thin hardend steel, falling in the water is the least of their problem & the cold would kill them before they drowned in all probability.
One thing about that Taylor kid, he's got stones! They might be in his head, but they seem to be safe there for the moment.

@Myself andI I think you're being a little over dramatic. It's more for the older people who do not understand, and also no one is saying they dislike the American accent. I'm also not even expression my opinion, this is actual fact. This is the reason they re record the voice over. It's because of people not being able to understand it. So piss off
And of course being the Scottish accent is deemed more "trustworthy"
@Myself andI maybe you should do some research then instead of complaining like a little girl on the internet. When you're complaining like this on UA-cam comments it makes me wonder how anyone likes Americans
I'm curious how the oldskool fishermen did this without the computers and big lightmasts.
Jakes a good fisherman! He catches everything they don’t want
what you should do is clean it with Betadine, super glue it shut, wrap it with clean gauze and tape and keep it clean and dry.
What happened to Mike Rowe as the narrator?
It came out that he has conservative views and the producers of the show can't allow someone like that to narrate their show.
@@wooze4sho as always the libtards disagree with anyone who doesn't think like them
This is the UK version, Mike Rowe still narrates for the show shown in the US.
America is dying. Repent Mike Rowe still does the show for the US show, this is the Uk Version only.
Is Mike Rowe’s voice not good enough for the UK?
I could do all their jobs .
Later that day - i Quit ( jumps into ocean)
😎
They hire green horns every year go get you some. I'll stay home and watch you on my TV
@Myself andI you would probably break your back
“your worth about 3 crew out there” not much higher cudos you can give
that kid is tough
Respect son
I probably wear a teeth guard 🤣 and a life vest that turns into a raft
Jake, to Sean your worth at least 3 people to me out there, Then at least pay him for the price of 2 people,Jake
Deck Boss does make more.
Just FYI.
why are they out in a storm ????
Its the season.
That's what's up 😊
I gotta do some tweak to catch some crabb
Where were the major injuries?
One of the senior deck hands was accidentally stabbed with his own knife. Its there and gone blink and you miss it mentioned. Personally, I think they should have given the knife wound more attention
I thought the thumbnail showed them pouring up
To these boat ever sink?
Ye no unless
Ye They sink all the time. Someone dies pretty much every crab season. That’s why it’s called “The Deadliest Catch.”
PocoRTR * damn that’s scary
Yup
Gotta say, that Taylor kid takes his lumps. He's lucky! The pot is 600 pounds empty... add the crab and 2 shots of leadline, and there's enough weight to clip the end of your finger off like a shear!
Where is your gloves Casey ? 🤔
do some more tweak then you'll catch some more crab
Why aren’t any of them wearing helmets?
If it’s so dangerous out there who is filming them from sea?
Dozens of miles middle of the ocean no hospital at least they could give that poor kid a shot of whiskey.
he's built for crab fishing
I once went to hit a chisel with my hammer and missed and hit my finger. It hurt bad, really bad. I didn't realize the extent until I took my glove off and seen it was broke. No need for a drug test (lol) so I took some finger length bolts and electrical tape, went to the bathroom and wrapped it up and went back to work
I think ill fit in that crew perfect just need a orange tape around me saying ( hazzard stay away from me) whats worse auto tech injuries or fishing boat injuries.😁😁😁💪💪💪🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕
Oh, the irony. " ... we got INCREDIBLY tough guys." ...meanwhile, "Ow, I hurt my pinky!" lol
That bit of skin shouldn't have been removed. Should have cleaned the finger well and under the flap and then secured it with some dressing. That's common sense. The skin would have grown back onto the finger and been a barrier for germs and debris as it healed. It would have grafted itself back on naturally.
So long as it didn't get infected under that flap, you're right
Till he grow that will heal
(is a Greek phrase)

Everytime I wonder why I don't go work up in Alaska I see this shit lol. I used to be a heavy equipment mechanic for about 5 years, even that is dangerous enough to put ya on yer toes. But this is a whole other level of safety hazardous.
Fuck I bet that hurt having peroxide pored over an open wound.
@Myself andI No, You could die at anytime from a Stab wound, Internal bleeding can continue LONG after the outside wound has stopped and If one is On their feet and Already exhausted, It can mask the symptoms of bleeding out..Working, Feeling like shit, Pass out or go to sit for a rest, and, Dead.
Tayler can definitely take his thumping’s rub or scratch it off and get right back in it
Where I live I don’t have to do that stuff
If you can fix it with a little bandaid it's a boo boo not a serious injury.
Why he not wearing gloves!
Bring back Mike Rowe
Mike Rowe hasn't gone anywhere. Your watching Discovery UK so they have a Scottish narrator.
jameson allen this is the Uk narrator, if actually watch the show on tv Mike Rowe narrates the US version only and has for 14 seasons with 15th season started
Always leave them skin flaps on, it acts like a shield for the wound so it doesn't hurt as much when you hit it on stuff. It just dries out then falls off or you cut it off with no pain because it's dead.
These guys are tough as nails, and I wouldn’t last 10 minutes in a storm
But these aren’t exactly major injuries??????
t mac true but most people wouldn't last a day doing that job.
One of them bent over with his knife in his pocket and stabbed himself.
Tough as nails, yeah right he was crying over hydrogen peroxide that shit doesn't sting it's alcohol that stings
@@jasontimmons2642 that all depends on the deepness of the wound, if it's deep peroxide will burn almost like alcohol
@@tantrobusb9 oh ok thanks I did not know that
Are you kidding me I’ve got my finger worse with a hammer
Nobody cares bro! Any other ripe comments you want to share comparing yourself to documentary tv personalities?
Fred Gardon dang, someone’s feeling salty

Yeah but I'm betting u werent hauling crab.
Penguins,ASL.
You don’t need to cut it off tf
