Well Done As Always Phil! I'll definitely take note of where my head and tilt is next time I set up for driver! I tend to play the ball left of center and do set up for a draw. However, because of what you have described, I do on occasion get a pull hook. Thanks for the Alert Phil!

Good video. A pro gave me a tip one time that made perfect sense, and it's what I use to correct my shoulders if I feel that they are not properly aligned. He told me to just stand straight up and look forward (not down the fairway but straight in front of you).

Watching you set up to the ball it appears that your feet are pointing slightly to the right. Is this is a case where you have pulled the back foot slightly back for a fuller turn of the hips or do you normally play a closed stance in relation to the target line ?

Yes, you can follow the same principles the effect may be less dramatic though.
Brilliant Phillip! The best solutions are often the simplest ones. My course requires a lot of 3 woods and hybrids off the tee which I tend to sweep rather than hit down on. I assume the principal is the same but to a lesser extent? I’d be interested in seeing you hit hybrids / woods off the deck. Do you hit down on them? Another video perhaps 🤔
As far as the body position and spine angle is concerned nothing changes merely bring the ball further back in the stance. Glad you liked the video 👍

All other factors being normal - yes indeed that could work.

Great video, but would you please do a video instruction on weight shift. Your videos are great and have helped me a lot., but it seems there is no video on weight shift. I even bought a swing caddy based on your advice. But, I feel that I am still missing that piece of my swing having to do with the transition. Keep up the great videos.

Another method to get the body tilt and your shoulder parallel to the target line…as your lead hand is on the grip, put your trail hand in the back pocket of your lead side. While maintaining this tilt, just bring your hand back to your grip.

Just started playing at 55.....2 months in I've had a hole in one but havent played for 2 weeks.. really painful golfers elbow....does anyone have any tips please
Tension in the arms and wrists is usually the original cause. Look to take a more relaxed action and a softer hold thereby making the club do the work rather than your arms. Hope that helps.

When I do this, I feel like I’m reaching for the ball. Does this mean when I correct myself, that I’m actually too far from the ball?
Sounds very likely - give it a go there isn’t a precise distance you have to be from the ball so don’t get too hung up on it but see if a little closer works for you.
Is your stance somewhat closed?
Very observant! - but the answer is no, it was because the camera angle needed to be slightly out of line in order for viewers to be able to see the shoulder alignment. When we filmed it straight down the line this couldn’t be seen. 😃
I should have read all the comments. Shortly after viewing the video, I asked Phil the same question.
I usually enjoy your videos and the 'Easiest Swing' approach, but I don't think that this tip remains true to the ES ethos. I say this because I came to ES because golf coaches were trying to get me to do this and the twisting/coiling motion that is associated with the so-called modern swing, and even more associated with back-pain. I am sure that the tilting you describe plus the tension it adds to the left side of the body is not good in the medium to long term, especially to the lower back. As you know ES tries to eliminate tension and not introduce it. Overall, I am not sure that this is pure 'danse du golf' that you see in Brian's videos.
What I have noticed is that when moving my right hand to the club (for a right hander), my left hip turns slightly backwards and to the left and therefore a very slight forward motion with my left hip brings my body back to the symetrical which is 'danse du golf'.
Sorry this one wasn’t for you but it sounds like you have managed to square yourself adequately. However, lots of golfers don’t and then suffer from very open shoulders and an out to in swing so I hope it still helps them.
