The one thing I don’t like about my Saatva mattress is the motion transfer. Now I understand why it does that. Thanks for explaining it with the “old school” spring base. I will keep that in mind with my next mattress purchase.

20 years ago i was in the carpathian mountains in Romania. I slept in an old ladies house a couple of nights. Kind of like a bed an breakfast. But in actuality she helped me out with a room when my "hotel reservations" didn't work out. Slept on a homemade mattress. She claimed it was filled with sheep wool and feathers. Not sure of what type. Slept like a baby. I wish i could get on here.

I did a deep dive on mattresses seven years ago. Ended up getting a hybrid from a small company. 3" latex over L & P pocketed coils, with a zip-off organic cover. I flip the latex occasionally. No dips after seven years. It was very affordable. Latex over good coils is the way to go imh. I would go softer with the latex than you might think though. I got medium firm. If I to do it over I would choose a medium soft, or soft. Latex isn't like foam pillow tops that squish and deform over time, so going a little softer is ok.

I have one for 10yrs and it's wobbly. Comfy but yes you constantly feel your partner. I'm giving to my daughter and we are looking for a split king bc we're totally scared to get another bed that transfers movement. We kept it bc it was never so bad to return it for the $100 handling fee.

Loved the video. My wife and I are both side sleepers, and currently own a 6 yr old Casper mattress. I am very interested in the Saatva Classic, because I love pillow-top beds. Two questions: 1) We are undecided on the firmness: Plush Soft, or Luxury Firm. I like a soft-top bed, but don't want to feel like I'm sinking into the bed. And 2) How do the mattress heights affect the support of the bed? We prefer the 11.5 inch height, but are afraid it won't be as supportive as the 14.5" height. Can you help answer these questions?

I enjoy your channel and comments. I’ve been looking for a “perfect” mattress for several years and have bought several which have all been disappointing after use. When one reads the marketing hype, the picture it paints is very different from what is seen in a disassembled mattress. I’ve even seen mattresses with a retail price of $315,990.00 (Hastens). Obviously marketing and brand cachet is very important in this confusing industry. I currently have Stern’s & Foster Ultra pillow top … I’m not impressed. … especially with edge support which is inadequate for sitting on the edge. I would buy a very expensive mattress if cost was correlated with comfort … but I fear there is little correlation between the two. I may call you guys and hopefully have a chat.

DUDE!!!! I wish I seen these videos years ago!! I have been having the WORST, I MEAN THE WORST time trying to find a mattress I can sleep comfortably on. I've tried ALL OF THEM, BEAUTYREST, TEMPURPEDIC, sterns and foster, serta, king koil, sealy etc. I literally went thruogh at least 20 mattresses spending more than 10K at least. The reason I believe I have been having issues, is because for the longest time, from 2002-2015 I was on a spring air back supporter, this particular manufacturer went out of business than sold to a new ownership which just kept the name, not the manufacturing so it's not necessarily the same mattress. I believe the spring air back supporter I had that I loved had a coil construction like this saavta, I think my issue is MOST MATTRESSES constructed today are pocketed coils and it just makes for a different feel, I believe its less supportive, and I cannot believe they went to the pocketed coil just so the sleeper next to you won't feel you get out of bed, just absolutely absurd. I remember that spring air back supporter I was able to sink down slightly into the mattress only to be met with a very supportive coil core, now with individually pocketed coils, it just seems wavy, when I get a plush feel mattress it is just to hard to move around or get out of bed so my back suffers, then I go firm and my shoulders and hips get destroyed and I really can't find a comfortable sleeping position. It's really effected my quality of life, mattress manufacturers are borderline criminal with their price gauging too, it's unbelievable with what they get away with, in any case, I cannot find a mattress with a coil build that is linked, am I'm glad I was able to watch this video as I do believe SAAVTA may be the way to go. If you guys are reading this, maybe you have a recommendation, I'm on a paramount extra firm (it's not really that firm, but still I need something softer) it was the only brand that seems like a regular mattress last time I went to Macys.

@@MichelleNovalee So, after nearly years, possibly a decade and going through massive amounts of mattresses, some high end, some crappy, I was at my wits end about 2 months ago, I was on a chateau & Wells Hamilton pillow top an dit was KILLING MY BACK, I was in so much pain one morning I said, THAT IS ENOUGH!!! I could not go to Mancini's sleep world because they banned me from buying a mattress there (too many returns and exchanges 😂) So I went to mattress firm, and was hell bent on getting something, ANYTHING THAT DAY. After laying and trying a lot of the same junk, (serta, Beautyrest, Sealy, etc etc) I really could not get a good feel for anything, then just on a whim, I went and laid on a sleepy's mattress called Willow (it is mattress firms natural organic mattress) I NEVER EVER thought I would like the Sleepy's mattress because after all it is a generic mattress that mattress. firms sells as their own brand, HOWEVER the sleepy willow medium mattress was LIKE HEAVEN TO ME, and while I was on it I actually learned SPRING AIR manufactured the WILLOWS mattresses there, so it's not a coincidence that I instantly liked it because the best mattress I ever had was a spring air back in 2002. I needed it that day so I spent 2400, after being on it 3 weeks, it was slightly too soft, so I exchanged for a SLEEPY WILLOW FIRM MATTRESS, and it is much cheaper AND ON SALE, so mattress firm paid me back about 900 dollars, and I can say with all the confidence in the world, IT IS A GREAT FEELING MATTRESS. I think it's the latex they use that make it feel so great, unfortunately they still use the pocketed coils, but the firm mattress with the comfort padding layers just makes it feel great. NOW, it's not perfect, particularly the edge support, there is no foam encased border wall around the mattress that most mattresses have these days, but I am definitely willing to over look that seems as tho I found the goldilocks comfort zone for me. I would go to a mattress firm and try the willow's medium, or Firm, GREAT FEELING MATTRESSES!!!! Here is a link, but it no longer comes in a box anymore fyi, and mine didn't either!!

I have a Nolah and it’s comfortable, however I do sometimes have neck/back pain from sleeping on it because I think it’s too soft. For example, if I sit up in bed to watch TV, I start slowly sinking down into bed and my posture gets whack. I just need some more support. In Vietnam where I lived, all mattress were super firm and I always woke up well rested.

Interesting to see. Saatva is pretty high up on my list right now because I seem to have really good reviews. I really like that they have the green guard gold certification and use an organic topper that I'm going to be laying on.
I have tried a couple foam mattress box companies and have been very unhappy with how they feel and especially how horrible they smell off gassing. I appreciate that I don't have to deal with that with a Saatva since it's not crammed into a box and ships to me for free.

This is what I have. I've had every mattress under the sun and did a boatload of research before getting it. I asked the Marketing director which model of a national brand to compare it with and he said Simmons Beauty Rest Black Beauty. I opted for the Firm Plush model based on reviews. We were coming off a Sealy Hybrid which was becoming uncomfortable. The Wink Bed was too firm for us (probably our age (mid 60s at the time) so we threw a 2" foam topper on it and it was fine after that. I believe they're very well built. After several years, sitting on the edge produces no sag. It's sunk in a bit where we both slept, but was regularly rotated. For the price, you could buy a new one every few years, compared to the ridiculously expensive high-end companies offerings. I'm sure my body has become more pressure-sensitive over the years. That's my $.02 on Wink Bed.

Have the same Saavta (firm version ) dated 3/15/21 , wife sits up watching TV Big Dip Hole on her side, a full inch(drop unloaded) , much much more loaded, you can only rotate this mattress, which most are made that way nowadays they sell to the public. I went to the higher firm over luxury firm for higher longevity , but at 3.5 years, and wife complaining within a year , time for it to go.
This mattress was high use, or normal everyday use
The raised middle, wife never liked that , not sure if in the right place for rotation, but it had to be rotated cause if the dip hole, she would roll down hill back into the hole, sleeping on the other side.
The mattress has been rotated, But Im going back the traditional double side springed Hotel mattress.

too much polyurethane. That bed would be too soft for me but regardless that poly will deteriorate and sag in about 2 more years. You might get 4 more years of usefullness??

Agreed, a lot of mattresses are these days. Did you see our beauty rest black video? Layers upon layers.

No offense, but if you actually sell mattresses your website is awful. If I cant tell within a few minutes what youre selling and how much it costs, then thats pretty much the end of it. If its only for educational interest pertaining to materials and types of beds, then its great.
