In Peru, you can have a mix drink made with maca and quinoa in the street, usually bus stops or corners. It’s pretty common for breakfast. About the benefits, we know that it gives you energy, makes you stronger and for men, it helps them with “bed “ problems, makes them more active. I don’t know if it is still cheap there like quinoa used to be before its exportation started. Ironically these foods were the cheapest for years (70s 80s 90s). Little by little our traditional foods are becoming less accessible for our people ( Peruvian) due to the exportation.

      Wow,
it's things like this why in countries like yours, people are happy, energetic and have AMAZING bodies.
I'm from America where they push doctors and drugs to help people "feel better" and then when we start getting horrible side effects, they give us more chemicals until we look and feel like zombies, then develop diseases and die young. 🤦‍♀️
I'm only 45 years old but I felt like I was dying and even though I knew better, I still somehow fell into the trap and it's a vicious cycle once you're in it but I'm now free from all medication and trying my best to heal whatever damage I can from the years of abuse my poor body endured.

  • @JaydubyaX

Hey...look into whether your maca powder is raw or gelatinized. its pretty important for it to be gelatinized, as it(along with its relatives:kale, cabbage, broc, cauliflower) has goitrogenic qualities that should be cooked out. its also said to maximize the powerful benefits by cooking the starches out. Hope this helps.

    • @Sdority905
      @Sdority905 2 роки тому +2

Yes this is very important! If it's not gelatinized your body won't digest and absorb it properly so you wonbe getting the benefits.

I made this milkshake (subbed whipping cream for coconut cream) and I got really anxious and didn't sleep all night. I'm not an avid coffee drinker because it also messes with my sleep, so if you're in a similar boat you might want to decrease the amount of maca you add.

Steer clear of soy except maybe fermented once in a while. This is for many reason: GMO, mono-culture, phyto-estrogen, they use is to make animals fat, etc.
Read Dr. JJ Virgin's books. In Japan they say "if you do not want your husband to cheat on you give him some soy."
When older ladies are told to take estrogen is usually in conjunction with progesterone. And, I read the preferred form is topically.

Hi Thomas, first of all thank you for posting such good info all the time.
I have been reading up on maca powder and started using in my after-workout oats. I am currently maintaining kethosis, but eat about 20-30 grams of carbs after workouts to replenish glycogen. Side question: what is your opinion on that?
Main question: I read that raw maca has to be heated to release active ingredients. Is this true and does it apply to RAW MACA POWDER (the kind I bought)? There is also gelatinized maca, can you maybe elaborate on the different kinds available and how to use them? Thank you!

I don't think so. The can has been thoroughly washed and heated up to certain temps to kill all bacteria inside. Your glass container cannot reach such sterile condition at home. Opening the can will let in bacteria and it will grow no matter which container you put it in. At least that is way I see it from my common knowledge perspective :)

👍Yum. 🤤😋 Bought Some Maca Root powder yesterday not knowing how I was going to exactly use it. I think it’s amazing how after an extended fast the body tells us what we need.😁

Please help! I love how maca powder gives me energy and a vibe boost especially before work outs but it's not keto friendly. Is there an herb/natural supplement powder like maca powder that is keto friendly?

I tried 1 tsp of maca root powder in my daily smoothie for several months but noticed no change in myself whatsoever. Either I'm super healthy already or in such bad shape that I'm beyond the help of any dietary remedy :-)

My maca powder bag says 1 TBLSPOON. Perhaps his was more concentrated? Mine is gelatinized for faster absorption. Not sure if that is better or not. Try increasing… he might of said teaspoon meaning tablespoon?

Instead of putting the lid back on the can, why not use a Mason jar.
I thought putting a can in the fridge was a bad thing , and open food isn't really for the counters top
    Thank you for advice...

Yo bro! I realize this answer is two years from when you asked the question, but it helps to know that Maca is a superfood. You cannot overdose. So take as much as you want, daily ✌😎

I read somewhere that it’s important to use gelatinized Maca!!! Please clear this up because I notice that you’re using the raw powder?
