It should be noted this is very likely a temporary fix. The switch should be replaced, they are not pricey either. Part Number 5026211AA

Mine turned on and the check engine light too. It also turned off my tow/haul mode while I was driving. Now just got the check engine light is on
So I replaced my hood with an after market hood and I don’t have that part underneath my hood but I do have that pin in the front engine cause it’s an etorque should I tape it down? Cause it gave me that error light. Also did you have to clear the code or did it fix it self?

I have a Ram 2014 5.7. I don't see a start stop switch. When I stop and do something like go to a game or shopping it won't start. Eventually it starts. I bought a new battery, thinking that was it, it still happens.
Let's install it and see if it works...but no videe on that. So did it work or not?
I picked up my new Ram 1500 Etorque 10 day ago. I'm at 500 miles, my auto stop/start died this morning. This video was very interesting, I'll phone the dealer on Monday and see what they say.
That’s interesting other than this issue mine has been flawless.
And this is why I'm keeping my 4th Gen Ram Pentastar V6. None of the start stop and cylinder deactivation nonsense. Something happens to it, I'm getting another Pentastar or going after a 4th Gen Ram Cummins
Would this make the check engine light come on as well? I just has some collision work done on the front driver fender. I was on my way back home and the check engine light lit up as well as the start stop wont work.
it could, but youd have to scan it.
Was that switch under the base 3/36 or is it covered also under power train warranty?

I just picked up the 2021 ram a couple months ago. I hate the start stop. I turn it off every time!
At first I didn’t like it but it grew on me pretty quick.
With fuel as expensive as it is and the poor MPG these trucks get, I leave mine on. Every little bit of fuel savings helps.

Were you able to turn truck on while code was present?
Yea only thing it did was the stop start didn’t work. But truck ran fine
I have a Ram 1500 Lonestar that I bought around 6 months ago and dropped it at the shop this morning for this, as well as a few other issues.
My speakers will occasionally sound like they are all blown and I just get crackles and static, my auto start/stop light keeps coming on and recently, it has shut down on me twice over the last few days while at a red light. It happened yesterday and and I got a weird message on my dash saying "Hood open".
Just got off the phone and was told they're still trying to diagnose why the start/stop light keeps coming on as well as why the engine is shutting down at red lights.
Anyone else encounter the speaker or shut down issue?
I guarantee the issue you’re having is with this switch. I just replaced mine for $12 didn’t even bother going to the dealer again. Hasn’t come back with any issues
@@hanksgarage_ I spoke with them yesterday and they said they traced the problem to the start/stop battery.
They fixed the issue with the speakers, apparently fixed the start/stop issue, but like a lot of people having this issue, were unable to duplicate the issue where the truck shuts down while at a red light. At least that's the only time it has happened to me. Some have said their truck has shut off and the emergency brake applied while turning corners at slow speeds. That is a MAHIR SAFETY issue. Not just for the person driving the truck but the poor guy who may be right behind you and rear ends you because your vehicle malfunctioned.
The dealership said they scanned it multiple times and didn't get any codes. They asked if they could keep it overnight and check a few other things this morning so 🤞 they find the problem.

I have a 2020 Kia Telluride and the start-stop hasn't worked since I got the car. I took it to the dealer and they run test to figure out why and they have no clue. Their answer was that there is so many protocols for this thing to work, that must be it. I've had two vehicles with start-stop and I run many tests with it on and off and I always get better mileage with it off. Just another gimmick to sell cars. This e-torque is a joke. It only gives you extra torque for the first 1500 rpm which is about 10 mile per hour. One thing they have never said is how much horse power does it take to run the motor generator? The standard fan on a car takes about 12-15 horse power from the engine. So if your losing horse power what is the gain? I have a 2022 ram warlock with the hemi and no e-torque and I'm getting the same mileage as trucks with e-torque.
