To prevent mold, etc, you can soak in vinegar and baking soda and/or use the Contigo cleaning brushes bit.ly/ContigoBrushes. But the best solution is... I keep a 1 oz pure .999 fine silver coin in my bottle, it prevents all mold, fungus and bacteria growth, we never ever clean our water bottles anymore because with the silver in there we don't need to! I got my silver at www.apmex.com/
You did a very good job with your Contigo water bottle collections very Well that is a perfect bottle It is good for Birthday gift for family and friends as a gift want u think
nice review. i recently purchased a bottle, i have to say... worth it. i was wondering about the straw i thought mine was broken or something until i pushed the straw all the way in.
I have the Sheffield stainless steel water bottle and it is a fantastic product that is until the spout mechanism fails. I've had mine barely 8 months and somewhere in the system of the lid the seal has split now when I suck through the straw I get nothing but air. The lid is not covered by a guarantee because as I found out they consider it used to be general wear and tear but regardless of that if it bought outside the US and/or from a 3rd party reseller, the guarantee doesn't stand anyway. I have now found a European website for Contigo, where you can obtain replacement parts. A replacement lid is €9.50 which, together with a shipping charge comes to more than half the price I paid for the entire product in the 1st place. And how long will it be before the seal fails again? I suppose if you're able to treat yours with kid gloves (which I would do if I choose to buy another) it would still be the excellent product I bought, but I feel it only right to flag up this failing
mohamad mahboub It doesn't spill at all, it's one of the best features about these bottles. You can use any juice or liquid you want, just not hot liquids and make sure to clean it after if you use anything besides water.
looks like a really good bottle, btw i think you can cut the straw really short and then plug it ,that may fix the weird sound really nice review ,thanks
Contigo also makes models without a straw (easier to clean), and that operate with one hand. Buy them in a two pack at CostCo for about $20 I see no reason not to use gravity feed, tipping the container up to drink. The straw is nothing but a bother.
+John Donaldson Yes that's true, except they are not currently in stock at Costco (seasonal item it seems), I reviewed the bottle you mention here ua-cam.com/video/PLU4MWF0XM0/v-deo.html ... You may see no reason for the straw bottle, but it actually has many uses, for instance it's MUCH easier for a child or even toddler to drink out of, especially with the nice super soft silicon tip. Some people may also prefer to sip from a straw versus holding the entire bottle up in the air with their heads tilted up (a bicyclist for example may prefer the straw). Also we tend to go months without even cleaning the straw and it doesn't seem to hurt anything, essentially the cleaning is not that big of a deal. But yes I do personally prefer the straw-less bottle.
Your video is almost good. At least its in focus and you used a tripod. Many on UA-cam have never heard of a tripod. Sadly the first several minutes you cut off most of the bottle with your editing or tripod placement. Move the tripod back 2 more inches and it would have been much better. The video is a little long, the video would have been better if it was 60-90 seconds shorter. Overall its almost good, keep working.
i just bought this contigo addison water bottle on amazon it will be shipped on friday. it is ocean blue and it has a double wall.what is a double wall
+madison hendrickson The double wall is correct, it's what let's it have an inner vacuum sealed chamber so it can keep it's temperature over many hours (and also prevents moisture forming on the outside of the bottle).
+danijel124 I'm not sure it has a literal valve like you might be thinking, but it does have a little pressure release thing and there are no issues whatsoever with pressure while drinking
Believe me the last thing you want in that hot coffee is a plastic straw! I can recommend this 16oz amzn.to/2ovXRAj or this 20oz amzn.to/2oD0Dky or this 30oz amzn.to/2nRcc7R
does anyone know how to clean the mold from the lid. I use mine everyday and frequently wash it but just noticed the mold. please help I don't want to throw it in the garbage
Yes, soak in vinegar and baking soda like Veronica said, and use the Contigo cleaning brushes like Chris said, also I keep a 1 oz pure .999 fine silver coin in my bottle, it prevents all mold, fungus and bacteria growth, we never ever clean our water bottles anymore because with the silver in there we don't need to!
I dont get it how you gus has mold on your? I mean litereeally I have a 8 months old kids steel bottle and yet not single mold.... what does ya put in your drink????? dirthy water
charizardag I've never done it before, so I can't say for sure, but since it's steel and not glass it should be fine, just make sure the bottle isn't super full inside or something could get damaged.
Hui Peng Tseng Yes, but only if you hang it upside down. First, you have to drink a little from it and then put the bottle upside down. There should be some water left in the straw and if you suck on it it makes these little dolphin noises and squeaks that can get really annoying yet funny.
Warning do NOT put carbonated water in this bottle. I was showing my coworker the lid and the bottle proceeded to spray a 2 foot stream up onto the air and all over the desk. Embarrassing
Depends on your bottle cage. There are many different kinds of bottle cages but I wouldn't recommend it due to it's weight when it has water and also the metal. Just trust me on it. Get a camelback, they make bottles meant for cycling.
Jackson Nguyen Contigo makes plenty of lightweight plastic bottles that will easily fit any bottle cage. The point is, the water can get warm from the sun, and further, you would have to not be a very smart person to put your water in plastic, but I'm guessing your not up on the mountains of data showing the pro estrogens and other cancer causers that are released from plastic into your food/drink to F*CK your S*it up, to put it plainly. Basically avoid plastic at all costs, even bpa free, as the bpa free has other chemicals WORSE than bpa.
+TrentRecommends they have hydro flask alternatives that do exactly what hydro flask does but way cherper, plus hydro flask lids fit. got mine on amazon for $16

How did you determine which silver coin product to purchase? Which one did you buy?
Dude you saved me with that tip to screw the straw in completely. I was just about to return mine as the straw just wouldn't work 😂😂 thanks a lot man!
You're very welcome!
Thanks so much, got this for Christmas and wasn't sure how the straw worked. Great review!
Thank you I'll definitely be buying this. Buying water on campus is really expensive
***** Your very welcome, plus all those cheap plastic water bottles on campus have some nasty chemicals waiting for you inside.
You did a very good job with your
Contigo water bottle collections very
Well that is a perfect bottle
It is good for Birthday gift for family and friends as a gift want u think
It fits well in a car cup holder?

+Robert Few I have had this bottle for a couple of years and it hasn't failed me yet! Also Contigo has a lifetime warranty
Is ther a way to fix my contigo.?i have d same one but its starting to spill
Mine is so hard so suck the water up. Is this normal ?
I have a Contigo water bottle that is also stainless steel , and I love it I used to have a plastic one and I hated it it sweated too much
thanks for the great review. Does it spill water ?? can i use it for Juice beside water without spoiling water taste ??
mohamad mahboub It doesn't spill at all, it's one of the best features about these bottles. You can use any juice or liquid you want, just not hot liquids and make sure to clean it after if you use anything besides water.
TrentRecommends thanks alot
mohamad mahboub ...yes
looks like a really good bottle, btw i think you can cut the straw really short and then plug it ,that may fix the weird sound
really nice review ,thanks
That bottle Have a good diameter to Put ice cubes ???
Thank you it was very helpful !

Contigo Chug chill, there way better too

+glbernini0 Thanks for the advice, you should see my most recent videos, I'm working on making many more videos even better and shorter.
I have one of those but plastic and that thing shoots out liquid when pressing the button and it also leaks through the button. Its a scam.
Can you put another Contigo lid on the Sheffield? I received one as a gift, but I want to use it for hot liquids, so no straw or sippy mouthpiece.
Yes I have swapped the lids before, worked great.
Really great review thank you.
Thanks!

ok thx
hi mine is no longer keeping my drinks ice cold like it use to pllls reply thnx
where do you get the black color? i can only find pink/purple and aqua blue
It may not be available, if you ever use the warranty for the lid then usually the replacements are black.
Does this bottle have an air pressure release valve? So when you drink the pressure is released.
+danijel124 I'm not sure it has a literal valve like you might be thinking, but it does have a little pressure release thing and there are no issues whatsoever with pressure while drinking
are you aloud to put juice or cordial in the kids ones or is just water?
Yeah you certainly could, just make sure to rinse out / clean the inside of the lid. Works great to keep them cold too.
water is fine just cleaner and safer
Is there a way to fix my contigo water bottle? It started sweating
That's weird, maybe it's EXTREMELY cold? or you dented it? it shouldn't really do that or at least minimal
Can you use it for sodas and other gas drinks?
Yes you could, just clean the inside and inside of the lid when you're done!
Nick Dzink if you want to use soda in there...remove the straw. Drink without straw.
Nick Dzink ya just dont shake it i will explod
I need something where i can put my coffe and something that has a straw, i don't want the mug help?
Believe me the last thing you want in that hot coffee is a plastic straw! I can recommend this 16oz amzn.to/2ovXRAj or this 20oz amzn.to/2oD0Dky or this 30oz amzn.to/2nRcc7R
TrentRecommends they are cool and everything but i can't put them in my backpack, btw i just bought the contigo ashland
it says keeps drinks cold for 18 hours is that true?
+TheSonyGuy1 Yes, as long as you don't have it sitting in the sun all day or something like that.
does anyone know how to clean the mold from the lid. I use mine everyday and frequently wash it but just noticed the mold. please help I don't want to throw it in the garbage
Soak in vinegar and baking soda solution
Yes, soak in vinegar and baking soda like Veronica said, and use the Contigo cleaning brushes like Chris said, also I keep a 1 oz pure .999 fine silver coin in my bottle, it prevents all mold, fungus and bacteria growth, we never ever clean our water bottles anymore because with the silver in there we don't need to!

what does ya put in your drink????? dirthy water
can you feeze these overnight?
charizardag I've never done it before, so I can't say for sure, but since it's steel and not glass it should be fine, just make sure the bottle isn't super full inside or something could get damaged.
probably no 👎 cause of the straw.
TrentRecommends do you experience any weird sounds more like a dolphin trapped in a garbage disposal; while taking a sip?
Hui Peng Tseng Yes, but only if you hang it upside down. First, you have to drink a little from it and then put the bottle upside down. There should be some water left in the straw and if you suck on it it makes these little dolphin noises and squeaks that can get really annoying yet funny.
Hui Peng Tseng I agree with what Aweome said.
Is there any metallic taste?
No
nope.
Every time I drink from my contigo bottle I sound like a dolphin. Is this ñormal?
Jocelyn Bishop haha that can happen sometimes, usually it's because your straw is not inserted deeply enough into the underside of the lid.
How do I fix that
+Jocelyn Bishop push it in more xD
+Jocelyn Bishop The only way to fix that is to use a straw. If youre using it without the straw it makes that noise
Jocelyn Bishop no just push in your strow
Warning do NOT put carbonated water in this bottle. I was showing my coworker the lid and the bottle proceeded to spray a 2 foot stream up onto the air and all over the desk. Embarrassing
Do they fit in bike holder
Depends on your bottle cage. There are many different kinds of bottle cages but I wouldn't recommend it due to it's weight when it has water and also the metal. Just trust me on it. Get a camelback, they make bottles meant for cycling.

yoy should try a hydroflask.
hydroflasks are great, but they are over twice as much money, and usually you need to buy extras, for example the straw upgrade.
+TrentRecommends they have hydro flask alternatives that do exactly what hydro flask does but way cherper, plus hydro flask lids fit. got mine on amazon for $16
@Naif No you wouldn't use this for coffee, for that see this video: ua-cam.com/video/wYQVSjl23Lk/v-deo.html
Why does it have my last name in it 😂
Ha! that's so funny!
The first 2 minutes could have been condensed into about 20 seconds - or less. Move on, nothing to see here.
