Stumbled upon your channel while searching for North Cascades Backcountry hunting. I have been hunting the North cascades since the early 1990's. Some of the roads you walk for grouse I can guarantee I've been on those roads once or twice (or more!). Enjoy the content, now a new subscriber, and it's always cool to see local Washington hunters on UA-cam! Off chance we might bump in to one another up there one of these days. :)
Glad ya found it! I'm sure we've walked some of the same roads. The North Cascades are a fantastic stomping ground. Definitely say hi if ya ever see me in the woods!
Hey Bro, love your channel. Don’t give up on the Mulies. If it was easy everyone would be hunting the high county and we wouldn’t want that. Enjoy the mountains and one day you’ll bag that trophy.
Mule deer numbers have been down for awhile now due to the management of the forrests and wildlife. Its rough hunting public land. Though you will find them where no other hunters will go. Best of luckin Oct, and hope the wife and adventure babies are well.
Good hunt. I'm up in BC and I've been out more times than I can count this year both in the spring and the fall. So far I've got countless grouse and rabbits plus one spring bear but haven't really seen any deer at all. I can count on one hand the amount of does I've seen. Hopefully November will be more fruitful as I still have a couple more hunts in me before I throw in the towel. Wish you luck in your future hunts.
According to WDFW records, most of the quality bucks are at altitude above the timber in hard terrain, from Manson to Pasayten. Hunting mulies requires multiple scouting missions from spring melt to pre-season. Or pay for private access to public land and local knowledge. It is what it is. They're out there.
Wow that's great info! I'm new to the high hunt so any info helps. I'm definitely willing and able to put in the work. Mostly just figuring out what work that is! Thanks!
I can't find a deer this year to save my life 🤣 October hunt nearly nonexistent. Pregnant wife, kids, work, etc. Got ONE more day I can chase blacktails
I have yet to have any luck during high buck season. I never miss it because it's always a beautiful hunt. But, in my experience, all the people I come across while doing this hunt have the same thing to say as I do.
Thank you! My editing computer died... I moved.... and had a 2nd kid. Been a busy few months. I got a new laptop and will start putting content out again soon. Thanks for watchin!
@@CascadeBackcountry glad to hear it. Congrats on the second child. Your videos inspired to start grouse hunting again this year. Not sure I’ll make it out again before the season ends but I did wind up with four for the season. Thanks for the response I’ll patiently wait for more awesome content. Great work!
@@CascadeBackcountry Probably pointing to the Lost Loggers Goldmine , a mine with a rich vein of gold some logger found back in the 30s. Apparently he died before he could make a map… you know the story.
Was the tape you got from the viewers to tape your bi-pod? I was thinking of doing something similar to prevent the subtle noise they make when deploying.

Family First! Great hunt though. Getting after it! How's the October hunt going?

Way to be, family first :)
Priority #1
Hey man, it's been awhile. Hope you're doing well and will return one day!!!
Lots of life happened. I'm back tho! Thanks 😃
Do that exact same thing in one of the states just to your east and SE and you’ll see 50-100 deer a day
Guess it's time for a road trip! 😆
No deer but at least it was cold and windy for you 😂
Cold and wind is WAY better than getting a deer 😆😂
@@CascadeBackcountryyes WAY better

Well that makes me feel a little better haha Yeah even if ya don't bag a buck, it's still a great hunt to go on!

Bummer. I hope my mid November hunt does better.
You goin after whitetails?
@@CascadeBackcountry Yes! Up in the northeast corner.
Nice! I was hoping to do that hunt but didn't work out. Good luck!
Find a place to hunt with fewer hunters !! Good luck !!
That was the original plan but circumstances dictated otherwise. Next year!
I love your content but I can’t help but notice you’ve been absent for a little bit. Would hate to hear your not active anymore!

Haha no. I already had the tape on my bipod. The tape was for the barrel of my rifle. Mine came off
