Yeah, but all of the hair styles look the same.

the hair looks so much nicer once it is cut and alot of the dead ends are removed. I love seeing the results! It always looks so much healthier and full!

You are a great beautician
As soon as you cut it. Her hair started to look VERYYYY good already. I love it. 🥰
My grandmother literally did this to my hair when I was a child. It was a hot comb press and your hair always looked and felt amazing.
This lady here is a fab stylist I would love to go to someone like this. She knows her craft
I am so glad more and more black professionals are doing natural hair. When I started my journey back 2004 very few stylists would tackle natural hair. But an Italian male stylist in Boston Ma gave me a silk press and I never put relaxants in my hair again
I'm looking for a hair stylist in Pinellas County Florida for silk press ?
@@sramos3686 how far away from Miami are you? I know Florida is a huge state and you're probably hours away. There's plenty of stylists here who do silk pressings.
So how do you keep your silk press long lasting? Also do you moisturize your hair to look shiny and strong? If so with what?

Her hair is gorgeous. You are gifted Crystal. It is so hard to find stylist who know how to do natural hair.
That first cut made the world of a difference. The cut is everything.

When she said hot comb she opened her eyes wide lmfao
The cut made it look fuller an wealthier nice job
Soooo how does it look from the front view? The back of most hair is the healthiest and it turned out predictably healthy after the cut. Why not show the entire silk press and I know I’m not the only one thinking this?

Where is your salon.
It's because the texture of her hair that's why, you want to get it as straight as possible to cut it into healthier hair.
I agree. Between blow drying, the hot comb and the flat iron that is a bit much. Not to mention I haven't seen her put any heat protection on... SMH.
You have done marvelous job on this client. You saved her hair and you made

I’m not a professional, but I think she did a great job! I hope it didn’t hurt, I’ve seen other stylists use the same kind of heat. It looks like the client loved it😊💗
She looks like Lupita Nyonga. Very beautiful!

Her corrective cut came out soooo beautiful and looks great.😁 Thank you so much for the Education as well. I come from a very mixed family and most of us Girls in our family have Medium to very thick and wavy to kinky hair. One of my Aunties is Puertorican and when we were younger she would use Three Flowers or in Spanish it's called Tres flores. It is an oily goop but not as nice as an Edge control product. Because of it being oily, our hair would attract lint throughout the day...It was terrible. I wish she had known about Brown gel back then. I didnt start using it until I was 20 years old when I went to Cometology school. I will be 49 this year in June and haven't stopped using it yet. I love your channel and really appreciate your teaching. The Lord bless you and Family. I will definitely keep watching.

Although it looks greasy and has no bounce, it turned out looking nice. I have a hard time choosing a hair stylist because a lot of them will damage your hair for a style. They care more about achieving the style than the health of your hair.
...beautiful woman, beautiful, shiny, healthy finish. The style really flatters her features. ❤️

She too damn rough and she burned her
Yes indeed
She didn’t even realize she burned the client

Bless it!!!!
FYI: The main reason the hair reverts after it has been pressed/straightened is because the humectants in the product are attracting moisture to the hair. Moisture causes the hair to revert. The pressing oil that I have does not have humectants, thus allowing the hair to remain straight longer. I hope this helps someone.
This is the most magical video I have ever seen....The stylist is supremely talented! That cut is fabulous. What a gifted set of hands!
Wow she has totally transformed that young lady's hair from looking dry and damaged to looking healthy and silky shiny. I have natural hair that I'm growing out so it's down a little below my shoulders now. Every time I hot brush my hair out and hot curl it, it looks nice for a little while and then by the end of the day it has turned into a curly, wavy semi-fro. I get so disgusted that I don't even bother going through all the time it takes to get it to look nice and just brush it back, braid it and keep it moving. I need my ends trimmed and a simple style that will last. I sure could use your help girl.
Look like she heavy handed

Crystal I'm glad you have patients and the heart to do natural hair. I just love how you take the time to do hair and how you explain about hair.
You did a fabulous job, her hair turn out beautiful. She look absolutely gorgeous. And you are a great stylous
That’s way to much heat 😫
Resheca Patton yes, too much, too much talking to whomever is in the back and too slow. Now, she said she was only using the pressing comb in the back. Why not just use a good flat iron
Resheca Patton and way too many passes with iron! 🤦🏽♀️
Who determines how many passes with a hot iron is Ok.
My hair is medium fine and I hot comb before I flat Iron, I hot comb until I find I'd good enough.
JUST LIKE PEOPLE BLOW DRY UNTIL THEY FIND ITS GOOD ENOUGH.
How many passes with a Blow Dryer is enough 🤔
Candi Lea I have fine hair I blow dry on medium heat and never a high flat iron because you’re just asking for breakage and damage to medium to fine hair. Common sense for real!!
@@MolliD. Hahahhaha
I trim my hair every 4 months split ends is not even an issue for me and I've done this for years speak for yourself and your hair Ok!
Great tutorial I didn't know what a silk press was exactly some people make it out to be something maybe some secret and it's just simple. Thanks for inspiring me
Her hair looks fabulous as usual done by you Crystal❤❤❤ You do amazing work!!!
I would of washed deep conditioned, hair mask, argon creme and then blew it out on medium heat and definitely not a hot comb! Only flat iron no more than 300 degrees on her hair.
MolliD she only got comb to straighten out the edges Gershwin’s, to make sure some flat iron don’t work well on broken edges
Trust a hot comb is much safer than a flat iron with the correct usage it can even aid in hair growth by ensuring you don’t have any knots and you’re able to clip of split ends
MolliD , same here, still does look health
Her hair is damaged and dry
300 degrees on 4c hair? That hair would have reverted before she made it home.
I love how you cut. You cut people hair for it to be healthy and it looks good and much better after its done.
The fading colour (because the client said it used to be burgundy) really suits her an well done on the silk press and styling 👌
I've been watching you but only today decided to subscribe. I like your cheerfulness and the thorough care you give your clients. This client's hair was really pretty when you finished her. I'll keep watching!
Me: how can I keep my hair moisturized?
Her: depends
Me: 😩
Determine your hairs porosity. That’s the best place to start when it comes to learning how to keep your hair moisturized.
live love laugh my daughter is 4c low porosity which is the opposite of my hair so I totally understand. Are your strands fine? Course? Stuff that works in my hair leaves her hair feeling dry.
Porosity determines how your hair responds to the stuff you are putting on it. Low porosity hair takes longer to suck in moisture because those cuticles are closed. But once moisture is in, it ain’t going anywhere. But putting too much product on low porosity hair, it just sits there and eventually builds up and weighs the hair down. It’s actually pointless and wasteful because your hair isn’t even absorbing it.
4C, 3B it doesn’t matter when it comes to growth. What matters is hair density and porosity. Learning those two things will have your hair healthy and strong. Good luck on your journey!
#haircrack #allnatrual #skullmarker
This is a nightmare....her hair is damaged and dry as all get out...moisture is key and this head is lacking

Her hair looks amazing! So much prettier
I didn't think it would look so amazing. Great job!
Why do you need both hot comb and flat iron to tackle her hair? Her hair don't need that much heat that is alot of heat her hair is already damage a good trim and a silk press with the flat iron would do her hair will have lots of body and be smooth. I say she need a cut cause the frount is longer then the back it will be very uneven. Was I triping or was there hair in the hot comb? The ending made her hair look better will you show the progress if you haven't already?
Iam a Detroit stylist y have t use what it takes on diffrent textures it looks better last longer she doing a good job and y have to wrap.your hair up to keep it in a from so the hair wint dry out and break off

@@niknatpattywack4293 I didn't see it but she used a different straightening/heating tools 4 different times. How is one spray going to help. The blow drying ate that up
I just asked this question about the term “Silk Press.”
When this “service” was initially introduced to the Natural Hair Community; what I LEARNED was that it IS a “treatment” that requires an “oil-blend in conjunction with the use of heat” which takes a standard “press” to a “silk-out.”
Over YT-time, the term has been used interchangeably with standard presses. Because of course on YT, not everyone has a professional background, people are using “terminology” that they hear used, and not necessarily understand the differences where there are some.
You say, that “It’s just a term?” 🤔 Which totally makes sense to how many others also don’t seem to accept it to be a #specific service? Interesting.
A standard press is done with a pressing comb, a silk press is done mainly with a flat iron and should not be greasy like the old school press. "Silking" the hair comes from method of blow drying the hair until its nearly bone straight, then flat ironing which makes the hair shiny and silky
Wow that looks great. My hair is the same way. It's very course in the back. My niece does hair and when she give me silk presses my head feels great and I feel so beautiful and it actually last about a month 😍😍😍
I like to see you do hair, you are very concern about your work, I wish I lived near you, good work.
It's amazing what taking off a couple inches can do... Her hair looks so much healthier and so much prettier.... It's unreal.... Great job......
love how you did that guide line with comb! very precise cut!
I like how you braid and twist the hair and put them under the dryer. However, my hair is very short. I typically let my hair air dry about 60%, blow dry, hot brush, then flat iron with my 3/10" iron. I actually clip my ends by braiding my hair in individual braids, then clip off the tips every 2 months. Every time I let someone else do anything besides my barber cutting my fro, something disastrous happens to my hair or mainly scalp which is extremely dry and sensitive to tension and heat.
True Kenyan queen ❤️
The model is absolutely beautiful
So her hair is already damaged and you are using heat to damage it more. Passing through that hair too many time with heat. When are we going to start taking care of our hair for healthy hair instead of damaging it just for a style. These styles prevent hair from growing properly. Her hair looks way to dry n thin to even be applying heat to it. Yikes. Im sorry but because her hair is so damaged the silk press doesnt look good. It's still very stiff.
This stylist is awful. I would never sit in hair chair. She's just making up explanations to justify what she is doing. A lot of what she says makes no sense. Too much heat!!!!
SillyRabbit TricksR4kids I agree. She needs deep conditioning, a protective style, and a bob wig would have achieved the same look.
And she didn’t use NOOOO HEAT PROTECTANT, before the blow drying or the hot comb and flat iron my god I bet her hair was so dry and breaking off more when she left!

Im really cringing watching this. One because of the hot comb lol & two because she keeps using that small tooth comb in her hair after she straightened her hair. Small tooth combs, comb the heat out. I’m a licensed cosmetologist & I really try to tell everyone about this.
I have learned something new.
Nothing wrong with the hot comb it’s for the roots
@@soleil2269 no... if you're using that and a straightener you're literally damaging hair. at most the hot comb should be used on the edges and the nape of the neck to collect the tiny hairs. ignorant ass
After 4 years of being straight natural and having no time for hair care, I began to straighten my hair again and it would revert.
I am high porosity 3b, 3c that is apart of the hair type…
So I went and got a keratin treatment that would allow me to do both.

I'm 70 gray and struggling with this gray hair😢 Thank you for making every thing understandable. It's all been helpful. I can't afford the prices but this all helps.
Seeing the hot comb, took me right back to the 80's when my cousin and I used to go to a madame, to get our hair pressed.😊 Nice job!🖒
Seeing this pressing which my mom called straightening comb.when my mother pressed your hair I mean she pressed it it was pressed so good that she did not have to do your hair for another week and a half or so maybe 2 weeks.and when she took the curling irons she used to take one handle of it and twisted in there and clapped the other end of the curling iron and put it in your hair and turn it and turn it and curl your hair she always love to give tight curls and I could not stand tight curls in my thick long hair so eventually I just had to coma coma to my hair got used to call me out the tight curls but it's take early enough to where the way I wanted it to and it always lasted 2 weeks
Those were the days
That's because this isnt a silk press and this is exactly what women were doing in the 80s.
Took me back to the '60's and '70's, Mama in the kitchen, Aunt Helen in her beauty shop, and my best friend Ray who I allowed to use me as her Guinea pig as she practiced to go on to be a beautician. Those days...
