@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventuresmy husband and I are disabled and cannot sleep on rough surfaces so this would be perfect but I wonder how much it costs 😂👍❤️ thanks for sharing
Great idea 💡 Let’s b honest… would be used a few times then forgotten about. Then the trailers tires, wiring, bearings would need to be serviced. Plus the critters/elements would dry rot/mold or chewed the tent up. Plus the hassle of where to put it till the next use! Better to rent a cabin and actually sleep or just use a tent and not sleep. 😂
Did this 3 years ago! My family and I love it! It's great too becouse you don't have to pack up the tent if you want to jump in the car and go exploring. I built mine up high enough for storage underneath the tent, and mounted a tool box on the front for out of the elements storage. Works great!
Or you know take an actual fucking tent that’s 10X easier to transport and is 6X the size of this shit. Where you can store an actual heater in bc yk, CAMPING
Absolutely a great idea, it’s small and comfortable. You don’t have to climb over or under or through anything. If it was for sale and if I could use it, I will purchase one, 4 cheers for you dude.

Yes but their rigs have tires approved for modern highway speeds. 14" & 15" tires and wheels. These boat trailer tires are a hazard for modern highway speeds
Great idea. Fixing to build one with storage below with this mounted on top. Self contained. Solar panels on top. Led lighting. Estimated total weight 400 lbs.
400 with storage filled or no? Also if you actually plan to make this, consider mounting with 3M double sided or transfer tape from their VHB product line. Just looked at the datasheet for one of the tapes and the stuff can hold like 100lbs/in^2 and is rated to like 300 degrees long term, 500 short term. The stuff is on the verge of being oven-safe.
I am so glad you mentioned people with mobility issues because I happen to be one of them. I look to see what people are doing like when they convert an ambulance or a van and how they do things to make it accessible for them and then it gives me ideas on things that could be done so it would be accessible for me and my service dog.
Great idea! Even to tow behind a car or vehicle that’s smaller on the inside space for sleeping!! Maybe even some kind of heating source that’s not a danger breathing in or the like! 3 people just died in their pontoon boat that they took out to camp in overnight, in Canyon Lake Arizona. It gets really chilly at night in the winter desert. I added that on just because of the dangers of some heating sources. Or maybe just warm blankets, sleeping bags. That would work just fine! You could even put solar up there 🤔🤷🏼♀️
In Australia we have Oztent, pops up in seconds, has awning that could peg out giving extra space. I have one so I'm now looking for a trailer, thanks. Also, it beats having to find level ground, just use corner jacks and jocky wheel. Could even mount gas bottle and water tank on A frame.
Heaps of people do this at Australia. Except it's an actual trailer where you can store all your gear underneath the RRT. It means you can unhitch the trailer as a basecamp & go 4wding without having to pack everything up. That said, lots of people have half a million dollar caravans too. You could pretty much say camping is the Australian national pastime.
I’m old, disabled, ride a Ural Gear Up, and this concept checks a lot of boxes! Wish I could find a road ready version of this. This could easily accommodate 3 young ladies & myself. 😎
And OHHH YAAA!! That longer trailer added space could not just allow for a JIC SHELTER OR STORAGE AREA ETC...BUT ALSO GIVE U A NICE SPACE U COULD SIT OUT ON LIKE A PORCH AREA!!?? OR LIKE A FENCED IN PET/DOGGIE AREA!!?? Ur dogs could run out in ur tent use the much longer trailer area to go out on run play on! And u could also use that area to cook on shower on many many other things u may need or want!? Just tossing out adding ideals here....😊😊😊
There is a motorcycle trailer made in Vancouver called a Leesurlite that is a pop up tent camper with a full bed, a neck mounted box for gear. It weighs just 200 pounds and has room on the bed for three Walmart style flat plastic bins for more gear when folded. It cost $5000 when I had one and slept Much better than tent camping on the ground. Highly recommended.
You can build an 18” platform between the trailer and the tent platform to have a slide out galley along with enough storage for all your gear. You can even include a fresh water tank inside the platform you can pressurize to create a camp shower.
Great idea for shower, ur really talented I venture! I recommend u to file online provisional patent, make a prototype and benefit from introducing such very needed product. As rent and prices r going up - this affordable housing, finally will be affordable for everone!
That is actually a very good idea thank you for sharing this video sir. I don't have a vehicle big enough to have a rooftop tent but I do have a vehicle that can tow a harbor freight trailer😊 Winning!!!
I agree with you on that, because the idea of climbing a ladder, or climbing down one when you have to go to the restroom is crazy. There is also a chance that you might accidently fall out of it which would land you in the hospital, nope. Another great reason for not putting it on the top of your car is that it could hurt the roof of your car.
Cool, just add a small storage plastic box with wood cover (chopping board) as a kitchen pod unit, water pouch for outdoor bath to make it as a complete camper trialer ...
You could get one of those trailers with the sides and mount the tent on top and use the bottom for storage. Just have to be able to pull it out the sides
"Think about people with mobility challenges..." That's exactly why we camp in a minivan, we call it our Class B-. We'd consider a B, B+, or C if they didn't insist in loft beds or corner beds. I'm wishing for a truck camper that the other half could actually use.
I really love the cargo trailer conversions. You could install a lift bed, bathroom, kitchen, back door ramp if wheelchair bound…. There’s just so many options and you can go stealth mode and be off grid when/if needed regarding power 😊 I’ve been dreaming, researching and watching vids for years now. And a car can pull it
Build a 16-18 inch base in between the trailer and the tent with drawers and all your camping supplies are always ready to go.
Or, build the trailer up enough for a waterproof Decked System and mount rooftop tent on that.

The other advantage is that you can leave this set up in your camping spot while you drive around in your vehicle.
Better get a darn good way to immobilize the trailer because people love to steal trailers especially in the sticks
It's not the other campers you have to worry about, it's usually always the locals that will steal you blind.
