I did alot of 'camping' in Kenya 🇰🇪 when I used to go into the forest to look for firewood, go to the river streams to fetch water etc.

I had 3 tent trailers over the years. Can you believe I had to back my truck up to it, crank the roof up and down by hand, crank the stabilizer jacks by hand, pull and push the beds in and out by hand. Hard to believe this trailer does not have a powered awning as well. It sure is a modern day tent trailer. They sure have come a long way! The price is great too.

Too many gadgets takes away from the experience IMO… when my family went camping years ago, there were six of us in a camper so tiny two of us had to sleep on the floor. Mom cooked pork & beans, potatoes & corn on the cob right in the fire pit while we roasted our hot dogs and marshmallows on sticks over the fire. Delicious memories…
We, as kids, had a Nimrod camper. No inside appliances, which was fine. But the attaching picnic canopy was a full screened in, with canvas flaps, room and off of the canvas room was the picnic canopy.

Wow fantastic, so clean looking lines and very functional? Can you imagine going for a walk away from ALL this gear for a time? You’d get robbed pronto!
To each his own. In theory it's amazing watching the innovation and development of camping and outdoor gear nowadays. Now here comes the subjective part. In practice, managing this whole setup, including the equipment on the Tacoma, would simply give me a heart attack before I even leave the house. Simply way over kill! I usually suffer from anxiety attacks 😂 simply trying to pack my bare bone essentials camping gear; a tent, sleeping bag, a camping chair, a couple of led lights, firewood and a few essentials. Besides, for me camping is all about getting back to nature, getting away from modern amenities, getting dirt between my fingernails, chop wood, smell like smoke, chase my dogs around campsite, etc... in other words, get closer to nature in as primitive a fashion as possible. Like I said, to each his own. The one thing that I thought was crazy over the top, is watching digital rendition of sexy women playing rock guitar on projection screen... WHILE CAMPING! Are you mad? Might as well stay home and order pizza while you... ehm... ehm... "enjoy" the virtual company of women that don't exist. I wouldn't even allow anyone camping with me to even turn music on, let alone a full-on multimedia spectacle! I can see the trailer camper as a great choice (if you can afford it) if you are on the road for long periods of time, or as longterm camping setup (few weeks or months) while let's say building or renovating a house for instance.

Be careful putting wet rocks in a fire. If they have absorbed much water, that water inside of them heat up and can explode. I found out the hard way.
