Can we connect the receiver to a portable speaker and use it as a live amplifier for live class teaching ? Please help
Yes. Wireless Microphone for Outdoor Yoga to Amplify Your Voice: studio.ua-cam.com/users/videomhDgT2dYDCY/edit
my MacBook pro 2021 doesn't have mic input unfortunately :( i'm glad this worked for others
It's not a FIX it's just a workaround.
thanks for the video...small distinction but could help with different recording situations: the db button is actually input level (how sensitive the microphone is. think how close or far you are speaking to the mic and what it picks up). volume is how loud it'll actually play (you can adjust these in your master settings with mac n pc)
Thank you for the clarity. I understand there is a difference. I'm not trying to be technical or official, so calling it "adjusting the volume" works for the audience. The intended audience for this video is yoga teachers who likely know nothing about audio equipment and didn't even realize there was a button they could use to change any settings what so ever. Also, they're unlikely to adjust master settings on a computer. It sounds complicated. 😅
What if you don’t have the volume control? I have the wireless ME.
You use the Røde Central app on your phone or computer. Adjust the settings in the app.
wow this so incorrect and misleading big auditory, install rode connect, in zoom instead rode usb select "Rode connect stream" and you got the stream through this app where you can tune the level of recording
I literally have no idea what you are talking about or what to do with those instructions. I am not an expert, so I am sharing what works for me with the level of knowledge I have. I am not affiliated with Rode at all. Most people are also where I am, or have even less knowledge. I'm trying to find work-arounds.
Thank you so much
I’m having same issue for my iPhone 12 Pro Max with Rode Go 2, and I recently bought SC 15 cable. So should I buy SC 7 to make sure I can change the audio volume input in my phone.
Yes, this works. I have used this method with my Macbook Air for talks I give on Zoom. However, I occasionally need to use an audio mixer if I use music in my talk so after some research, learned I needed to get the Rode VXLR Female to SLR Male adapter which plugs into my audio mixer....low and behold, I lost control of the volume setting on Zoom. So in those cases, I may need to return to my Samson wireless mic. Thanks for your practical content!!! Now my main tech issue I'm having is the QuickTime player shuts off recording. I have not found a remedy for that...yet. Anyone else having this issue?
That's so common with Quicktime! And I have done some troubleshooting, but I don't have this issue myself so it's difficult to fully test. There are some people saying that no matter what they try, Quicktime always quits after 10-ish minutes. I know someone who switched to recording with OBS (open broadcaster software). I have not come across and actual solution for Quicktime yet. I have a new computer and will be testing to see if this happens on my 2022 macbook pro. My 2015 is still good with using quicktime. If I figure it out, there will definitely be a video on it.
Thank you for the video! I had connected my Rode Go II to my MacBook via USB-C to USB-C and the sound was very low with no way to adjust it. I hadn't thought about using the TRRS to TRS cable that I bought to use with my phone to connect the Rode to the computer! After doing so, I have MUCH better audio. Thank you very much for the helpful video!
I can't seem to get a good signal when I try this setup. Gain is all the way up, the mics are clearly picking up a lot of signal, but barely any sound is being recorded on my computer. Tried different audio cables as well as different USB....any idea what might be happening? thanks!
Aww how amazing you're helping yoga teachers build businesses - I am a yoga teacher :) THANK YOU so much for this video! I was trying around and couldn't find a solution... Will order those cables now! Love, Kat
When are you going to make another yoga class on youtube
Well, Mr King, the next one I will probably publish is a first trimester prenatal yoga class. Beyond that, likely not frequently. Maybe once in a long while. It’s no longer my focus on this channel. The replays of my morning zoom yoga class can be found at AshesYoga.OfferingTree.com/online_store
@@AshleyHagen Very interesting about that first trimester prenatal yoga... 🙂
I am a voice and piano instructor. I teach my classes through Zoom. I used the microphone for the first time today and I was so upset when I realized that my voice sounded weak. I came across your video and realized we had the same problem. Your solution worked!!! Thank you so much. I'm glad you made such a video.
Thank you SO MUCH! I was going nuts trying to increase my mic volume hahaha
Thank you Ashley. I am looking to do a hybrid class using an iPad facing our instructor. Is this the set up you recommend?
thanks for this video.... How can i use two wireless microphones with my iphone 12 pro max. I want to use it for my podcast recording. Kindly guide me properly.
Get a wireless microphone that comes with 2 microphones and one receiver. The Rode Wireless Go II is an option. For something a little less pricey, I just got the Movo Di-Duo shipped to me from the company and it's a tiny $80 set up for iPhone with 2 microphones. I haven't tested it yet, but you can check it out here: amzn.to/3ThkOmf
My favorite is still the Rode Wireless Go II. The link is listed in the description of the video.
Hi! Is the sc7 the cable you recommended to connect rode to IPhone? So may I use it for both purposes adjust volume on zoom + connect to iPhone correct?
Is this solution for rode wireless one (the first rode)?
Thank you!
Xx
Yes, and yes.
Thanks to exist 🥰
Very helpful. If you are using Wireless Go II, one for voice and one for music, how do you adjust the volume levels of the two different mics? Thanks.
You can change the sensitivity of each transmitter.
Have you tried to push both buttons on the bottom of the mic at the same time to put it into merge mode? [m/s] This brings the left and right stereo tracks together. Stereo has a left and right channels and this brings them together. It may help with the low sound.
I have not tried that. I also don't quite understand it.
Another fabulous video. I will try the cables as you suggest (you mentioned to use them it on the first video I watched, now I remember). I'm even curious if my singing bowl will come through by using the cables. I'll try to let you know. Thanks for your great info. I don't care about the why's, by the way...just love these how's. 🙏
If you are recording using Zoom on a computer, make sure to adjust the audio settings on Zoom itself to ensure it picks up all background noises (for the singing bowls.) I am not an expert in knowing the correct settings for singing bowls on Zoom, but there's gotta be someone else who has done it and knows a few tips.
Crazy that rode doesn’t make an update to fix this issue. Nice workaround tho!
Maybe they do and I just don’t know it yet. Regardless, I know this cable connection way works.
OMG Thank you!
I'm having an issue with the audio... I thought it was crackling, but my audio breaks up when I am talking and sounds choppy. Any ideas how to fix this? I bought a Lap Mic and clipped it to my shirt, outside of it to avoid the fabric. Still isn't helping.
Have you tried replacing the cables? My cable connection started making my sound crackly. I replaced them and no issues ever since. That's a video I've been meaning to create a share. I just have to create it.
@@AshleyHagen it happens when I use the ride as the Rode itself, even without the lap mic. I can share a video to reference what I'm talking about if that's okay.
Thank you for video. I have similar trouble with weak sound in Audiacity. I am connected with charging cable with USB-A to USB-C. Is it that problem? Should I use SC7? Thank you.
Most likely that is the issue. Try the SC7 cable method. Can't hurt. And it's just $10 if you buy the off-brand ($15 for Rode brand).
@@AshleyHagen Thank you! I bought it and now it is better! Question is always what gain to choose with Audacity, OBS or mobile app...
@@RomanRogner That is not something I can help with. I usually leave it on the medium/middle setting for everything that I do on all devices. Good luck testing it out!
