1/ When I started normalizing audio levels of my Riverside guests, using Premiere, my production quality really improved. 2/ If you offered a short course on how to apply eq, compression and limiter, preferably using Premiere, I would strongly consider paying for that, 3/ your points about 32 bit float - that it won't save you from a bad recording, are seldom explained, so thank you.

Hey, thank you! It’s normal to be better when you apply a normalization.
About the Premiere PRO, I honestly don’t use it anymore and tutorials for it are not in my plan now.
Glad you like my video and I am happy to help. Thank you!

I can't seem to get any lav mic, including the Rode wireless pro, close enough to my mouth to get clean sound. The voice quality is muddy, and I need to max out gain to get it loud enough in post. My placement is as shown in this video, and I don't do it in front of a desk. The problem is solved if I hold the lav mic two inches in front of my mouth. A studio dynamic mic is better, and a shotgun condenser mic is better yet.

Hey. Any audio recording needs processing. Some of them more and other less but post-processing is required. Yes, a studio mic is much better if you can use it. I said in my video about how to choose the mic, the lav is an option only if you can’t use a studio mic or if you really, really want to use one. But yes, the amplification is required. Thank you!

The new lewitt ray mic looks cool

      @GabrielVIP  2 місяці тому

Yeah, that is a great microphone but be careful, it's a condenser mic. If you don't have a super quiet room and if your room has reverb, it's not a good option. With a condenser mic you need a room with great acoustic.

I am watching your videos and learning so much about audio. My biggest struggle is audio within a motorcycle helmet.
I would like to know if you have any advice for the Moto-vlogger community?

    • @GabrielVIP

Hey! Thank you for your comment and I am glad that you like my videos.
I Honestly have 0 experience with motorcycles so it's hard to say something precise.
What is the biggest struggle about it?
The volume? The way of attaching it? The sync step? The wind?
Let me know so I can study the problem and come back with a documented answer.
      Thank you :)

@GabrielVIP I thought 32-bit float would fix everything. It's such a dynamic environment that I struggle with a quick setup that works. I need a good voice quality, but some environment sounds to keep the video engaging.
It's basically like trying to record a large mammal inside a bucket during a wind storm. Your advice on which microphone to use, mounting, wind protection, and post editing would be greatly appreciated.

32 bit float will solve just the clipping problem. You can’t separate the sounds. If your voice is at a specific level and the motorcycle is louder, the mic will pick that noise. You can’t separate the sounds. What you can do is to try to keep the microphone as isolated as you can from the big noise and as close to your mouth as you can if that's what you want to record. I really need to study the problem because I have no experience in this. The audio part is the same but I don’t have experience with the placement of the mic on a helmet. Thank you!

@@GabrielVIP It was a good video. I just switched from DJI, and the Rode sounds better but audio is quiet. Ruined 2 pieces of content already as I learn lol
