Welsh lad here. Thanks for this video. My 70+ year old mother needs some steps built in her garden to stop her slipping and you've inspired me enough to give it a shot. I'm sure it won't be perfect, but I'll be using this video as a guide. So thanks for the effort you put in. I'll let you know how it turns out in a few weeks/months 🤣
Really sorry to learn you and yours suffered Covid over Christmas - that must have been really crap for you all, and glad to see you back into the swing of things! Complete and utter admiration for you and the team working in that bloody rain, well done to the Customer trying to keep you going with the sarnies. And the steps are a real triumph Justin, just brilliant, bet the Customer is well pleased! Onwards and upwards, well done team!
Or thanks Dave means a lot that .it was difficult for us but we arnt the ones pleanty have covid unfortunately not nice. Thanks Dave appreciate the support good luck to you and family mate 👍 🙂🧱🧱

Hope all is ok your end hope the van is fixed for you. Thanks for the breakfast really really appreciated it me and the lads . Ta v much 👍👌🧱🙌x
Amazing stuff again buddy. Gave me huge insight into when it comes to the steps. Do you see an issue with me using oak sleepers, as long as the back side is completely guarded against water with a DPM across all of it? Same with the wall? Looked freezing here. I'm actually looking forward to when the temperature plummets like this again in a month, because this rain is infuriating!!
@@brickrightbuildinglandscaping Sorry mate, I should have specified I was making the wall out of sleepers as well. So I can use bitumen paint on both the oak sleeper wall and steps?
Looking nice Justin, sorry you had the lurgy over Christmas, don't know many people that didn't have it. The rain and now the frosts are hindering our patio progress, hoping to get it finished back end of this week if it warms up😀😀
Yea it was a pain having covid we weren't the only ones Paul plenty have it but was our first time we all good so 👍 . Difficult to get a break at mo keep smiling it will come .good luck with it Paul.👍🙂👍🙌
Amazing work boys under very difficult conditions. In my view you are a Craftsman and not an ounce bigheaded and willing to pass on your knowledge to everyone, top class 😎👍😁
Great work! I’m about to do the same at my own place and been racking my brain on the best way to do it. I definitely like the idea of building into the bank, the only other thing I can’t get my brain around is how do you know how steep of an angle to dig the bank at?
Thanks devon Work out how many steps you need .select your tread size .times the tread size by how many steps. The answer gives you the length of the finished steps add a bit more just to be safe. Mark the answer on the ground with line spray . Dig this area out around about 400mm depth to start with. Then mark out each step with line spray and you can check the depth of the steps with a straight edge and level to check your levels will work .Some adjustment may be needed. Hope that helps and good luck Justin 👍
Some effort, lads. Mother nature doing all she can to piss you off on that job! Hope you are all doing well...had a nightmare start to the year up here with weather, injury, bereavement, the lot. Roll on better times! ✊
