    Welsh lad here. Thanks for this video. My 70+ year old mother needs some steps built in her garden to stop her slipping and you've inspired me enough to give it a shot. I'm sure it won't be perfect, but I'll be using this video as a guide. So thanks for the effort you put in. I'll let you know how it turns out in a few weeks/months 🤣

    Amazing stuff again buddy. Gave me huge insight into when it comes to the steps. Do you see an issue with me using oak sleepers, as long as the back side is completely guarded against water with a DPM across all of it? Same with the wall?
    Looked freezing here. I'm actually looking forward to when the temperature plummets like this again in a month, because this rain is infuriating!!

    • @brickrightbuildinglandscaping
      @brickrightbuildinglandscaping  Рік тому

    Great work! I’m about to do the same at my own place and been racking my brain on the best way to do it. I definitely like the idea of building into the bank, the only other thing I can’t get my brain around is how do you know how steep of an angle to dig the bank at?

    • @brickrightbuildinglandscaping
      @brickrightbuildinglandscaping  Рік тому +1

      Thanks devon
      Work out how many steps you need .select your tread size .times the tread size by how many steps.The answer gives you the length of the finished steps add a bit more just to be safe.
      Mark the answer on the ground with line spray .
      Dig this area out around about 400mm depth to start with.
      Then mark out each step with line spray and you can check the depth of the steps with a straight edge and level to check your levels will work .Some adjustment may be needed.
      Hope that helps and good luck
      Justin 👍
