Hearing you rave about Charlotte Mary Yonge is just the best thing ever 😍😭😍😭 I hope there are some other of her books that are as good as Dynevor Terrace!
Oh Kate, she is just a GEM of a Victorian author!! Why, oh WHY isn't she in print?!! Penguin, Oxford World Classics, Wordsworth... SOMEONE needs to get her novels back in print!!!
This was so fun to watch, Miriam! So many good books! Wow, you did an amazing job describing Dynevor Terrace with all its characters! Such a great buddy read!!
I’m so glad you are loving CMY! You have tons of backlist to try! 😅😂 I’m enjoying her Chantry House currently! I wish I could fall in love with her, too, as it’s so nice that you can find her still!
Oh that's a bummer about Pride and Premeditation because I was wanting to try that one. Boo. Edmund is definitely Austen's weakest male character, but I felt like he was a very realistic character - I mean, he's a normal guy, let's be honest, they're very often just like him, blinded by a beautiful face/figure and charming personality and ignorant of the goodness right at their side - and he was the only one who saw Fanny. He was the only one who consistently cared about her when nobody else even noticed that she felt ill or was overworked or taken advantage of. So that balances out his male stupidity for me. 😆😆 Oh my, I enjoyed every minute of you talking about Born of Gilded Mountains! And I agree with everything you said. SUCH a great book! SO many beautiful passages and I loved the characters so much. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I added so many books to my TBR from this video!! sounds like an amazing summer of reading! Also you talking about Born of Gilded Mountains and specifically the CO mountains makes me so sad to think about moving away from them. 😭
I enjoyed this video SO MUCH!! You've convinced me to find The Heir of Redclyffe! I've read that Sarah Sundin trilogy and enjoyed them all so much. Her more recent books haven't been as good (in my opinion) - can't really pinpoint why. I totally enjoyed the Exiles as well.
Thank you so much for watching!! I hope you find a copy and love the story!! I got mine off of AbeBooks (I usually have really good luck finding used books with decent prices). The trilogy was so special and had such deep themes! I don't know if I'll love anything else by her as much! I do still want to read more from her though.
I can't wait to read Born of Gilded Mountains. Anne sent me a copy, which I mentioned in my last book haul. I hope to read it in October. Also, I really, really loved These Silent Woods. Several books you mentioned I've read, and several went on my tbr list. 😊
Wow I’ve got quite a few added to my TBR, in fact almost every one you mentioned. I’m going to try those fantasy books you mentioned. I’m not sure I’ve mentioned it to you but I think you might like Robert Whitlow. Kind of like a Christian John Grisham. Romance but also mystery/legal.
I know you aren't continuing the Colleen Cambridge series, but if you enjoyed her writing style, I HIGHLY recommend her series set in 1950's Paris. Especially, the audio books. Julia Childs is a major side character and the narration is terrific.
@@Thecatladybooknook_PennyD Aww Penny!! ❤️ I’m always like WHY wasn’t I more brief / why didn’t I split the video in two when I film really long ones 😅😅😅
Born of Gilded Mountains - ordered. My wife and I were watching your video together and you convinced her so strongly she said, "Get it!" -- LOL. I would've done so no matter where the setting, but as a Coloradan through and through, how could I not? (And I agree about the cover.) Every kind wish.
I love the Emma M Lion's novels too - I read the first 2 and then skipped to see who she ends up with in the last one haha XD The tenant wasn't my favourite - it was the Duke haha :) all the characters were so unique.
Its amazing you have print copies of the Charlotte Mary Yonge books, i believe she is mostly out of print?? Im planning on reading Heir of Redclyffe for Victober.
This was a delight, Miriam! Aren't books just wonderfully grand things? 📚 💟
Thanks so much for watching🥰🥰 and YES they truly are!!
“If I loved you less, I could talk about it more!” 😂 That’s how I feel about books I love, too! ♥️
🤣🤣🤣🙌🏽🙌🏽

I love that we both hate summer LOL
What a great summer of reading! You’ve given me so many books to add to my TBR! You really have a nice way of discussing books 😊
Thank you so much!🥰
Ugh...I'm still trying to get caught up with my fav UA-camrs. I'm so happy to see your fall decor. I'm not a summer person either.
Also in healthcare. I totally understand!

I found them both on AbeBooks for good prices! They're definitely hard to find! I hope you enjoy the Heir of Redclyffe!❤
Christina Baker Cline - I haven’t read this one but I hear good things about “orphan Train”
Have you read Frank E. Peretti or Tim LaHaye /Jerry B. Jenkins , Left Behind?
I haven't, I'm generally not drawn to the type of books they write but I may give them a try at some point!
Does Born of Guilded Mountains have a romance subplot?
I'm not sure I would call it a subplot but there is a bit of romance suggested between two characters!
Fair that you don’t like Edmund! 😂
Yes, Fanny deserves better than Edmund!!! But also better than Henry Crawford. She had no good options.
@@MorgansEndlessBookshelf Agreed!!
I have a hard time with the tone that Lucy Worsley writes with!
