The other day I was so unmotivated and couldn't even write a full paragraph of my story, then I stumbled across your writing vlogs and watched a bunch of them and ended up writing 2 chapters that I'm really proud of in one sitting. Your videos are just so inspiring to me ❤
You talking about being patient with your writing, especially when sick, is so important. I'm chronically ill, and while I'm so lucky compared to others, sometimes that means I need to rest and let the idea brew in my head more. And I feel like we can't be good writers if we burn ourselves down from sickness
Your description of blurbs was fantastic. It was really helpful hearing each point stated clearly. I love when you have these golden nuggets of writer wisdom in your vlogs. It's always such a joy as an aspiring author to watch your videos!
Every Sunday morning whenever I wake up, I hear the sound of your voice. It’s really soothing! You have the sweetest voice and personality! Keep up the great work!
I love how you said you had to write those words you threw away even, because they helped you be able to tell the story you’re telling. That speaks volumes of aid to the perfectionists like myself. Also I’m happy you’re feeling better! You didn’t sound flat but you sounded more like an American to me, which I guess we are quite lethargic most the time 😅😭
I’ve watched a LOT of writing type videos whilst trying to stay motivated through the marathon of the middle in my own project. Your vlogs are so relatable, they’ve really helped me to push on. 👏🏻
As a beginner writer just getting back into writing I really want to finish my story after years of not writing. I feel so inspired and happy seeing others in the community just like me!I am still an amateur & want to grow and improve my writing as best I can ☺️I feel like there's always something new you can learn so good luck to all the aspiring writers who want to finish their books ❤️📖You got this!!
This video made me feel really good about my story/writing process. To know that you need years of percolating to be ready to write your story and that you often have many stories that you're thinking about at a time helps me understand that I am not 'behind' and that I can actually accomplish writing a book even if it take a while and I get side tracked with other ideas. I just need to actually pick one to write and allow the others ideas to percolate in the meantime.
Welcome back Christy!! (It's only been a few weeks but I feel so much happiness every time is see an upload because it means I have content that helps me relax)
I love that I get to start my Sunday mornings with one of your videos. I’m about to sit down at my computer and get some writing done and this little video is just the kick in the butt I need!
Your videos are both so entertaining and so comforting! I really admire your ability to write blurbs because despite managing to write full novels I can't do those for the life of me
Congratulations on finally starting your first draft! 🥳 I don't comment enough on here but I really enjoy all of your videos. They always have such a lovely, cosy vibe, and so much variety (which many other writers on YT lack). Also: Petition for you to get your own cat 🐈😄
I love watching your writing vlogs because I feel like my writing process might end up very similar to yours, iterative, write/throw-away/rewrite style. For years I've tried to make it more efficient, to discovery write first drafts entirely and quickly during NaNoWriMo, or to plan in details so that I could write in one go, but I never managed to create a good process. Watching your vlogs and your process is really reassuring and encouraging.
I feel you on the patience front. I started my (hopefully) last draft of the book I want to query next year, and when life gets in the way, it can be really easy to beat myself up over not having the time or energy to work on it. And the reminder to be patient is so lovely, and it's helpful to know it isn't just me 😅
I usually don't comment here, but I want to say that I've been watching your videos and getting really excited about your writing process since the beginning of project teacup, but even more now with this new project. I don't want to put any pressure on you, but we can feel how much you're growing alongside your books and how beautifully that might come into them. So yeah, I can't wait until it's released, and for all the videos of this journey! I hope you have a lot of fun and beautiful moments on it ❤
Another writing vlog, yay! ❤ I’m working on the sequel for my own YA series entitled The Good Pirate! Your videos are very inspiring, Christy! Thank you ❤
this was a good character "design" reminder. I tend to do too much self-insertion without realizing it. So writing a character who is different from myself or is someone I aspire(or don't aspire) to be is a good challenge. Great vid. Thanks!

Helping to run the events and parades is pretty magical to me, especially the community aspect of it all. Looking forward to hearing more about Spiegeltent! :)
I'm also drafting book 2 for my agent and also hoped for a 70k draft. Alas I think it'll be 80-85k. But after 2 books reaching 100-110k, I'm happy with that 😅

I have finished draft one and where I struggle at is draft two. I have spent so long on draft one that cutting it up and rewriting it is just so daunting.
I’m glad you’re feeling better! I hope your iron levels are better. In all my research after discovering I’m IDA I learned that being deficient can make you more susceptible to illnesses. Also, Gothic lit is my favorite genre so I’m very excited you’re starting this project!

Hello Christine! I love your videos, especially the ones where you write in a physical notebook or try out a journaling routine! I love keeping diaries myself but I've also started to write fictional stories lately. I am not sure if you're even going to see this comment (I am so sorry, I think I have asked you multiple times), but I always love your pretty notebooks! Since I need something for notes, like plotting or vocabulary and also fill a diary every like four months or I’ve been wanting to ask you about where you get your notebooks from? I just adore them :) Hope you have a great day!
Your thoughts on blurbs was really enlightening! That's something I'm currently struggling with my soon to be debut novel because I have this fear that if I mention something that happens in the first couple chapters in the blurb then would it be considered as a spoiler and would that turn people away? 😅 But at the same time, I know I need to somewhat talk about what happens in the book to get people to read it and to get an agent interested in it so I've just been back and forth revising my query letter LOL
The first 20-30% of the novel's plot generally ends up in the blurb :) the first 50% of a novel is often considered the promise of the premise There are ways to get around it if you do have a big shock moment in chapter one. Like, say the character's sister dies suddenly and shockingly, and the main character goes and buys a horse as a result, instead of relvealing WHO dies , or HOW they die, you could say 'after a family tragedy, the main character buys a horse' etc. there are ways to get around it but you still want readers to know the rough shape of the beginning of your story becuase they need to be motivated to read it in the first place 😊 Hope that helps! 💛
