Uh same! I went to schedule my first equipment cleaning and had no idea there was a 100$ fee! Even with the 10$ promo discount, 90$ seems a bit high! Came straight to UA-cam and found this gem! I’ll be cleaning mine tomorrow!!
It doesn’t have a filter so to speak. It’s more of a “ valve” that allows the water to enter the cooler from the bottle into the tank without too much “ glugging “ too much. The water in the bottle should have been purified but reverse osmosis or distillation ( I prefer reverse osmosis no “ slight metallic “ taste ) boiling water kills bacteria but I’m still not sure about pouring boiling water into the plastic parts of the cooler like the spigots and any lines inside the cooler. Your best bet is to find a food grade hydrogen peroxide and use a couple tablespoons full in a gallon or so of water. Pour it in and open each spigot for about 20 seconds to get the water solution into the lines and the spigot. Let it sit like that for about 15-30 minutes ( clean the other parts in the sink either soap and hot water and rinse ) . Drain the remainder of the water Peroxide solution through each tap ( spigot ) with more time running water out of the cold spigot. Some water coolers have a drain plug or valve on the back. If you have that, drain that as well. You WILL spill some water so don’t do it on hardwood or laminate flooring and have paper towels and an old towel ready. Now fill the tank by pouring cold water maybe a half a gallon or a bit more from your sink in the tank. Let that water seep into the cold and hot tanks. Some coolers have a “ room temperature “ spigot. There’s usually no tank for that, the water comes straight from the bottle. Run each spigot until no more water comes out and drain that drain in the back if you have one. Repeat this step 2 or 3 more times. If your tap water is not “ clean” do one pour and drain with a gallon of purified water. Some people like to use white vinegar a quarter times half a cup with a gallon or gallon and a half of tap water. I find vinegar is harder to get the smell out and or requires more of those “ rinse “ steps. You can also use about 2 teaspoons of bleach in a “ big” gallon of tap water. The food grade hydrogen peroxide is the safest but the bleach is also safe ( most municipal water is chlorinated which is essentially bleach., just do more rinse steps and don’t overdo the bleach, 1/2 teaspoon in a gallon is plenty.after your last rinse and drain use a quality paper towel to wipe down the inside of the water reservoir before putting in the parts you cleaned in the sink earlier back in. Put a fresh bottle of water on and plug the cooler back in and turn on the cold switch and the hot switch if you use that feature a lot. Run each spigot for 10 seconds or so. It should be fine to drink once the cooler has chilled the water but taste test the water the first time. If it still has a slight chlorine or peroxide taste run the spigots until the smell / taste is gone or wait 4-6 hours for the taste/smell to dissipate. Too many people believe the water they use is purified so cleaning the cooler isn’t necessary. If you use your cooler daily it should stay “ clean” for about 6 months. If one bottle lasts you 3 or 4 weeks or more, the water is sitting in the cooler too long so clean it more often. If you fill your bottles yourself at a self serve machine, the bottles should be sanitized every 2 or 3 fills if not every time.
Are there such dispansers that have the part with filter attached and not removable? I tried to clean my (that is why I was searching for this type of videos) but that white part under the safety cap seems to be connected to pipes, I can't lift it out more than just few cm.
Thanks so much. After only two uses I suddenly had bunch of sandy texture in my water. Only issue is my air filter really couldn't be removed so I just used hot water and avoided the air filter when cleaning. But now I'm really afraid to put a new water tank in it. It was such a chore to drain the whole thing. 😮
I have tried to fix my water cooler that for the first time is leading where the bottle goes into the safe guard. I took the part out and cleaned the small holes and did get some dirt out of it. then I washed it and put it back. Then I reinstalled the water bottle but it is still leaking around where the bottle fits in the hole. What am I missing? I am senior and cant think what to do next.
So I have a ge profile one. It has hot and cold and room temp. The hot began giving yellow water and it got darken and almost orange. How do you find out what is causing this.
I’ve had a water cooler that I’ve been using for 5 years, and never once cleaned it. I wonder how much nasty bacteria I’ve been consuming over the years
If the air filter is clogged, is it why I can only get a half glass of water and need to wait 15-20 minutes to get more water? My bottle is half full atm and plan to clean it and see if I can fix that problem.
Idk why but my water tastes like there is chemicals in it. I need to wash it and hope I don’t get that chemical taste to it. Thank you so much kind sir
I don't know who needs to hear this, but if your lazy ass debating whether to clean it or not, let me tell you: I found a tiny bug in my cup one day and decided to investigate. To my absolute horror, there was a spider just chilling in my water dispenser. So, seriously, clean it regularly, or you might end up with a new creepy roommate like I did.
Depending on the altitude of where you live, water boils at different temperatures. As long as the temperature stops rising and it's clearly boiling you should be all good.
You should add a small amount of vinegar with the hot water. It remives any sediments, just like cleaning a coffee maker or an iron.
Thank you. The presentation was fantastic. Excellent teacher.
Thanks again, so much easier to understand when someone shows you how its done.
Thank you sooo much. Very straight to the point and informational. You’ve just saved me $90 bucks with ready fresh☺️🙃
We might deliver in your area and can swap out a fresh water cooler for you! Where are you located

Thank you for this video. I'm going to try and save myself $90! Your very clear instruction is appreciated. All the best!
I've had my water dispenser for 4 years and didn't know it had a filter 🙃

Do you need to put the filter in the dishwasher?
How bout when your done cleaning it and the fed light is on and still says it needs to be cleaned
if you close your eyes and listen intently, its like Jimmy Kimmel is narrating this video
with a head cold :}
Hahahaha spot on!
This guy must have a magical hot water tank that doesn't need cleaned ever.
You’re the man, Mike! We appreciate it.
Very thorough explanation. Thank you!
Thank you for this video. I use it every time I clean my dispensers.
Great video but what about cleaning the lines? Also the hot water tank?
Thanks! I knew I have to clean mine but no idea how. I’m going to do this because the water smells and tastes weird.
What about sanitizing with wht vinegar of a tsp of bleach as most suggest?
Thanks man, I appreciate the video. I used your technique to clean my Water Cooler. It’s all clean now. Thanks again man. 😎
Thanks for helping to clean my water dispenser with your video, it's was very helpful!!!

What about the hot and cold nozzles?
Thank you Mike, you made this very clear and easy.
❤❤😢d
Thanks so much I really appreciate. I can now clean my dispenser with boiled water
If you have 3 spigots can you flush it through both the cold and room temp spigot?

I second that
Same!!! Something just told me to look it up😂😂 Wow now I’m afraid
Had it for 10yrs and still tasty
Awesome video, I didn't think I needed this 👍
Isn't that a water filter, not an air filter?
Dude, did you just get that brush from the floor? 😧
Thank you, so helpful!
I would like to know how to use the "no spill" feature. It spills all over the place when I try to put a new bottle on.
The cap plays a large role in the spill
Just keep your hand over it and have a towel close by for bit of water. Do it fast and it won’t be THAT much
Mine doesn’t have a water filter. It looks different than this. It’s a countertop or table type primos
Thank you .I will schedule cleaning.
Another beautiful and informative video
Thanks
thanks Mike much appreciated 😊

Just remove the filter. I haven't had a filter for like 9 years it does nothing!
Idk why but my water tastes like there is chemicals in it. I need to wash it and hope I don’t get that chemical taste to it. Thank you so much kind sir
I have water trap inside the lid, how do i get rid of it
you should untwist the taps and clean them also
Thanks a lot ❤ bery much helpful video
Thank you..great information.
Can I add a little bleach to my warm water?
most excellent thank you!! :)
First water dispenser cleaning video that doesn’t use vinegar in its process. Why not?
Good instructions, thank you!
I don’t see an air filter in my Frigidaire water dispenser
mine doesn’t have an air filter😭
Mines won’t release the water after I clean it.
I will like to sign up with you guys. I will like a deliver to my home.
What city do you live in

Your so handsome mike☺️
Water boils at 212 not 220. It doesn't get hotter than 212 unless pressurized. Other than that good video
Use Shays water!!!
You didn't clean the lines and I just clean mind with black stuff in it 🤢
I have a different cooler its a bottom load
Mike 😍🥵😈🤬
