Jak 2 Developer Picture - The Intended Path (Explored in OpenGOAL)

- I recently learned that too many people are unaware of the developer-intended path to the developer picture in Jak II. I have decided to make a video about it, to show it to everyone.
Collision renderer is possible thanks to OpenGOAL: opengoal.dev/

I made the video in OpenGOAL due to the collision renderer. There is no nice way to see the collision in any other version.
Must have been a secret only known to the devs.
My thoughts exactly; "go here, here, there we are! ha"
I love NaughtyDog :)
from pre ps3 era only ofc.
You're telling me you don't like cinematic non gameplay with 9999 cutscenes!?!?!!!
@@jesseslinger6867 lol, yup.
I’ve always wondered about this since I never get it right on the first try lol. I never would have guessed there’s an extra walkable path, I’ve always jumped over the gap.
I didn't know about this one, but I wonder if the Jak 3 one has a dev-intended path. Poor devs, they made secret paths to them, but they were found with dev freecam first.
None of the developer pictures were found with any kind of freecam first. People just found ways to get to them.
Jak 3 also has a dev-intended path but it is quite long, and they even put holes into the invisible path.
@@LuminarLight Exactly, I remember playing the game on PS2 and even back in the mid to late 2000s people found other ways to those dev pics without freecam.
Yeah everyone used infinite flying in Jak 3. But the worst thing I've ever seen, is they removed the photo from Jak 3 in the PS3 release. How petty.
@@TranceportationXprobably bugged
@@Stealfos I have considered this as well. Part of the texture changes.
Had no idea.
Very interesting.
very cool
Be advised, I'm on foot
All this time. . . .
And now we know the correct way. I cant imagine what the intended path is for the Jak 3 picture, if there even is one on that random rooftop!
I knew the intended path for a while, and some other people knew it as well. But a lot of people didn't.
The intended path in Jak 3 is very extreme, but it exists. I will probably show it soon.
Oh absolutely. As someone who explores the tools of these games, Im sure you knew the path, exploring J&D in OPENGoal, emulation, & Beta versions, I was sure there had to be a path.
We are very lucky to have you here Luminar, there are many things the Jak & Daxter community wouldnt have known about if it werent for you. I want to thank you. A good handful of your videos really stuck out to me.
-Beta Spargus City
-A video where you showed off the unused death animations of the Metal head Dinosaur from Jak 2 (In the Nest exterior) proving they were killable.
-The playable Developer/Test room from jak 2 I believe? It was a green room to test the animations & mechanics of Jak (like swimming & pipe swinging). There were also some Krimzon Guard crates with Eco from Jak 1 I think it was. (I may be wrong, its 4am for me right now so im a bit tired)
-But what really stuck out the most for me was that cut mission from Jak 2 where you had to defend the City port walls from a metal head attack, I was shocked you got the mission to run & the cutscene too on top of all of that!
•Were glad to have you on our side.
•There are more videos of yours I didnt mention but I think this comment is long enough.
Thanks Again.
@@LuminarLight
Miss you guys.
I have a quick question, how do i get the full debug option list? When i open the menu it only gives me camera stuff, game modes, editors and other small things. I opened all the menus but i couldnt get the full list.
I am not sure what you opened then. The debug menu can be opened with L3 + Start.
@LuminarLight my bad, I was using R3+select. Sorry to bother.
No problem. Happy that the issue is figured out.
wait, the mountains are solid? whenever i tried to go to the mountains with a vehicle, i always passed right through them!
The bottom part is not solid if I recall correctly.
Whats the button combo to open the debug menu? Cant seem to find it
L3 + Start
@@LuminarLight nice, thx
theres no way that if this exists, more crazy a$$ easter eggs hidden WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY away, dont also exist just like it somewhere else in the game, especially given how big and weird and polygonal the levels are
There are no more developer pictures in the game.
@@LuminarLight I'm surprised 😮 no other secrets? Dang... it's such a giant world to hide things in lol
The mountains are in red, that means you can climb on it, isn't it? I would if you can make a video climbing the mountains, if you can :P
Indeed those mountains have ground collision. I am sure there are tons of videos about it already, it was discovered ages ago.
no wonder no one found this correctly lol
Some people I know were aware of this, but a lot of people weren't.
;) i did in 2012 ua-cam.com/video/nBi5JZfY3Qc/v-deo.html
I found it that way in 2012 :) video is on my profile
