Snoop and Em haven't been on a song together since 2000, that's why Em says they should have collaborated earlier.
Also, the "Ain't no smoke in here" in the intro is further confirmation that they have squashed the little beef they had in 2020/21.

I believe 2001 was the last time these two were on a track together on "The Marshall Mathers LP" an all-time classic record. The song is "B!tch Please" with 'Em, Snoop, Dre, Xzibit & Nate Dogg on the hook. It's a classic you must check out, hopefully in reaction, but at the least on your own time!
I grew up on snoop and have heard everything I could find with his voice on it and this is the fastest I've ever heard him spit, I was like that kid in 8th grade hearing him for the first time again!

Em paid respect to Snoop in lots of ways, even for the fact Em left the second verse to Snoop because Em usually goes last. Snoop paid respect to Em in lots of ways too. He used Em's fast flow and he started his verse with that amazing M and M alliteration scheme. it's a very cool song from old friends who kind of had a little falling out but got back together because of their love and concern for Dre. then we got this amazing track out of it. oh, and Calvin is Snoop's real name. very nice reaction.

  • @DaMathias

The snoop dogg you just heard is the best he’s done lyrically. Snoop doesn’t ever rap that fast or that lyrical. His biggest hits are just more chill, soft spoken, easy to vibe to raps.

He's basically saying he wants all of "the smoke". (The Smoke is slang for challenge/ready to battle) so he's a walking leaf because he's got all of "the smoke", go to him if you want it lol.
Love the reactions, was surprised by this one popping up! Cool to see you are picking up the doubles more and more. Fair warning when you get into the Kamikaze and music to be murdered by albums, they are packed full of doubles. You'll get there eventually. :)

    • @zoegartham312
      @zoegartham312 2 роки тому

Also, maybe I'm reading too much into it (but then again, it's Em, so who knows?) but the way he said marijuana was exactly like how he said it in Drug Ballad 22 years ago. "Marijuana is everywhere, where was you brought up?" Is that a double? I have no idea. It's certainly possible with the way Eminem raps that it is. And of course, it is one I wouldn't expect Chris here to catch because he hasn't listened to Drug Ballad yet.

Snoop (Calvin Broadus) is more known for his laid back flow. This is one of the first times we all have heard him rap fast. The last time they were together was in a posee song called b***h please II with Dr. Dre, Xzibit, & Nate Dogg on the Marshall Mathers LP in 2000. They actually just squashed a beef they were brewing with Snoop Dogg making it known he could live without Eminem’s music on several radio interviews. So Eminem called him out on the track Zeus from Music to be Murdered by side B album. They are both Dr. Dre protégés.

Halfway thru - pretty good mate. RE: Your uncle - I quit drinking after 15 years, and now my wife drinks and I have no problem with it. I used to kind of get "vicariously drunk" through her, but now I don't really get anything out of it. I've only recently quit Mary Jane (18 days). She smoked yesterday and today in front of me and I was able to refrain. I was glad she was able to relax with it after a hard day's work. See, she doesn't abuse it like I do. Brief Eminem and Snoop history lesson. Snoop Dogg was one of Dr Dre's biggest signings in the early 90', then in the late 90' Dr Dre signed Eminem and blew up. Because of that Snoop became a "bench player". It seemed that everything is cool between him and Eminem (they had some songs together before), but 2 years ago Snoop Dogg said that Eminem isn't a top 10 rapper and that he can live without Eminem's music. Which was disrespectful. Em answered with few 1-2 line disses and then Snoop apologized.

When i look at the song as a whole, it feels like they are really just preaching for people to smoke it up instead of shooting it up. They are both shooting their verses like guns, and each representing the two sides to the east/west-coast conflict? The whole Calm breeze and shooting up the party are just meant figuratively for smoking weed, like firing up a joint.
There are a lot of references and stuff to dig into besides the overall theme of course.

Btw, Snoop (yes Calvin) doesn't usually *go off* like this. He's not known for rapping fast, he's usually very laid back with his rapping style. Which his voice and style is still very cool and smooth, but he brought his A-game since he was on the track with Eminem.

Snoop has never in his life spit a verse this technically great. He is very smooth and lazy? raps dope lyrics. But I love both styles from him! Interesting that it's your introduction!
Reccomend Still DRE he an Dr Dre to get a good example of his usual style.

Snoop had to come back from the comments he made about Em not being in his top 10? He wanted everyone to see that he is still in Eminems corner. Since the Game lashed out claiming he is better lol Snoop is choosing what side to be on. He made the right decision considering Dre and Snoop and their history, They have to respect Eminem and 50 for bringing Detroit and New York to Compton. IMO Snoop has taken his ability to the next level just to prove that he is one of the GOATS. Just my opinion

Listen to eminem ft 50 cent is this love! Another new track and it's also banging! Love from the UK bro love your honest reactions and the fact you can appreciate the skill this man has. Also if you want to hear snoop back in the day, murder was the case is a good tune. Very west coast though

Should watch Knox Hill breakdown an Em song, gives you a whole new appreciation when you hear how many doubles and triples Em can pack into a song

  • @tablez359

What em meant by "this should've happened a while ago" is probably him referring the the altercation between him and snoop like a year back.
Snoop said something like, "I could live without the em albums" or something along those lines which made it come across disrespectful.

When he said he's a walking marajuana leaf basically means he's down for the smoke with anyone who's talking down on his name. Or he's a walking conflict since people always picking fights with him. It depends on how you take it. Oh small history lesson Em and Snoop only was on a song together one time in the past "Bitch Please 2" and not too long ago Snoop dissed Em on a podcast but they hashed it out privately and as it shows they're cool now trust nobody wanted those 2 legends to go at each other. Calvin is Snoops real name which I don't think he ever really mentions himself as

One thing i think a lot of people are missing about the song is on top of Snoop matching Em's style of rap, Em is rapping about Snoops subject. So they kind of traded styles while still staying in their own pockets which is really cool

Palm trees, 🌴 = California. Also “trees” is slang for weed. So palm trees is weed in his hand. Also sets up the rhyme to “calm breeze”

I would really like you to react to Believer by Imagine Dragons. Great song! Conversations about this project began November 2021. It wasn't till now the video got done! Even when it seems as if Snoop is smoking close to Eminem. It didn't happened like that.
Em was in his studio. Snoop, at the beginning of the video, was at his place. Tricks to play with our minds and feelings.
    I have numbers!
Out of 23, 255, 683, 922 total views amassed by Eminem's official UA-cam channel, 2 billion have been gained since the beginning of 2022.
Yes, Snoop's voice is soft, nice and settled in every of his songs. We can tell he is a really nice and easy, soft artist.

At the beginning, Em says to Snoop. " You blowing smoke in here " like when Snoop blew smoke on Em for not putting him on his top 10? Snoop said " He can do without that? " Then Snoop says " No everything clear in here " " You trippin " Eminem fired at Snoop for not supporting him even when he was in his corner? Snoop backed him in one? Content relevance on the intro 🤓

So I’m not the only one who thought snoops voice was a little low. It was hard for me to understand him too . When I listen to this song again on Apple Music I’m gonna have to read his lyrics when he comes up.

Marijuana can also be called Mary J so the line, like Marijuana cause like marriage you wanna, Mary J.
Also before this line he said my longevity is so definite it needs a hearing aid, this is because if you break down definite you get DEAF in it, which also ties into the beginning of the line where he says "I'm here (hear) to stay". This might be a reach but he says reign but it sounds like ring and what do hearing aids do sometimes, they ring.
So the second meaning turns into, "I'm here (HEAR) to stay, my reign (RING) so definite (DEAF) my longevity needs a hearing aid".

You said u "picked up a Dub, to Em and Snoop fans that automatically relate it to a Dub ($20 sac of weed) lmao!! Great Dub Larry, Didn't realize u had bars!!! hahaha! Btw, I wonder if that pinball macjine was an easter egg of a future "curtain Call 2" album from Em, lets hope so!!!

  • @Kno_Buddy
    @Kno_Buddy 2 роки тому +1

In 2005 EMINEM dropped a greatest hits album called Curtain Call that had a few new tracks that didn’t fit the theme of other projects. With this song he has officially announced Curtain Call 2. The verse Snoop gives on this track is the hardest he’s gone in almost 20 years.

You may be a boomer, but the statement “Eminem is the greatest” is accurate. Big Pun is my favorite artist, but Em has him beat with how much pun was able to put out before his passing (rest in peace of course). If there’s a category, there’s a chance Em is at the top. Still should peep Big Pun “Beware”, “Twinz”, “Boomerang”, and his feature with the legend Big L: “Where You At”.

    • @OPPOSMITE
      @OPPOSMITE 2 роки тому +1

Big Pun is hella dope! Him and Big L are both sleep on! Big L even more so! Nobody tslks about him when it comes to the GOAT debate! Big L is one of my all time favorite rappers! And yes he's in my top 5

@@OPPOSMITE literally Em is in his own category, then it’s:
      1: Big Pun
      2: Slick Rick
      3: R.A. The Rugged Man
      4: Big L
      5: KXNG Crooked
      6: Kool G Rap
      7: Chris Webby
      8: Notorious B.I.G.
      9: Tech N9ne
      10: VI Seconds

      @@OnlyCoMpleXCS I would say:
      1. Eminem
      2. Marshall Mathers
      3. Slim Shady
Then you can fill the list in anyway after that.

Another great reaction! I'll be honest I struggled to hear what snoop was saying too 😂 also wanted to point out one line you missed which is brilliant! Just before snoop, em says he's a 'caterpillar without antenna, he's got no feelers," but feelers sounds like fillers, so he's saying all the tracks he puts out are gold, no fillers. But also, he and Royce did a track called 'caterpillars' where they are the caterpillars because all the other rappers (butterflies) spawned from them.
