My favorite little detail from this song is the "I've been driving around your side of this town for like 9 frickin hours and 45 minutes now". At the time it was released, that was the run time of his entire discography at that point, meaning Matthew was listening to all of eminem's music.

The fact is, when Em first came out… the Slim Shady LP (listen to that, btw) he was ANGRY. He was trying to rise in an area of music that white people didn’t do well in. When he created Slim Shady, that is what made him who he was. Slim Shady was his demon. He was all the anger, the struggle, the poverty, the boos, the drugs, the addiction, the abuse, the hate. THEN!!! The music media was categorizing him with POP, of all things. Imagine, My Name Is, being in the same chart at Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera… he was disgusted. So, Slim Shady targeted them and the industry, caused controversy. Even Politicians wanted a piece of him. Then Proof died. That destroyed him and he almost died. When he came back, he wanted to kill Slim Shady. He wasn’t really sure how to go about it, but as he worked the 12 Steps… which if you pay attention to his albums from Relapse on, you can hear the steps being worked and moving him forward. He even went to see his dad. I believe he went to his funeral, as well. Bruce Mathers lived in Fort Wayne, where I am from. The city knew when he died. Em hasn’t been real public, he does talk about it though.

I have so much respect for the last verse because it shows how aware eminem is of his surroundings and his impact. I wish this song had a music video because the way the last verse is setup is so amazing as well. Right as the car falls off the bridge (same way stan ends up killing himself), eminem raps from the perspective of people who he has offended and done wrong to. Also taking into consideration how this was released 13 years after Stan this came out in 2013 and Eminem has been rapping since the late 80’s but his mainstream career started in 1999 but his first taste of the limelight was in 1997 after the Release of his EP called The Slim Shady EP even tho his first album was in 1996 titled Infinite but crazy this was released in 2013 on the MMLP2 (one of his career highs), and him still trying to capture that same type of success as he once had while struggling with pressures from people who indirectly want him to put his pen down just shows his dedication and obsession with this craft. Its something so many artists who reach the top and then start to lose popularity struggle with and i think the way eminem describes his battle with not wanting to put the pen down is genius.✍🏽🐐🔥🎯💯

The Bronco hat line was a reference to stan. “And heres an autograph for your brother, I wrote it on a starter cap” Stans brother is giving back the hat Em gave him
    19:20
Stans brother is Mathew Mitchell, Stan is Stan Mitchell. The initials are possibly indicating Mathew being Marshall (same initials both fit) and Slim being in the trunk fitting your double entendre.
    22:31
He said “This is for him and Frank Ocean,(hope you can swim good),now say you hate homos again” because Frank Ocean is a homosexual man. Im assuming because of the language slim used in his first albums, he referenced it with this character.

WOW!! Excited to watch this surprise drop. I’ll follow your advice and check out Aurora’s music too!
    A few notes:
-This is not an official music video
-The guy in the background is Mr. Porter, one of Eminem’s closest friends who helped produce his first album, «Infinite», in addition to some of his songs like «Yah Yah» from the album «Music To Be Murdered By». He also took over as Eminem’s hype man after Proof died.
-One extra part of the «reap what you sow» line is that he follows it up with «nitwit» (knit, as in sowing/knitting).

MMLP 2 is such an underrated album. This as an opening track is just fkin beautiful. The contrast between the sort of unsatisfactory instrumental, almost horror like story of Matthew's hunt for EM, and the crescendo at the end is just amazing. All the references in the first 3 verses and double entedres. And then finally the big crescendo at the end where he stipulates all his shortcomings and insecurities for everyone to see. This fourth verse is probably my favorite Eminem verse of all time. Then to top it of he ends the album with Evil Twin and in the literal last the sentence of the album saying: We are the same, b*tch; referring to Em and Slim. Basically admitting to himself and everyone else, that Slim isn't just a character that possesses him but that it is him or rather his bad side. Really showing his flaws as a human being.

He is now his "background Singer" or more like a backup for any live events he raps. He basically finishes bars (says the last 1-2 Words) so that Eminem can take a breath throughout the long live shows.

Great job with this video! I would recommend checking out the lyrics when you have the free time, Stan and Matthew are both metaphors and the artistry these two songs have is incredible. I was very surprised at the lack of reception and praise Bad Guy got when Stan is considered one of the greatest Hip-Hop tracks of all time.
On another note, Eminem is my favorite artist and I grew up living a similar childhood, so the way I was able to relate to him was what kept me going through many scenarios. With that being said, I think the first reaction I actually saw from you was Monsters by James Blunt. Funny how things come together, huh? You’re absolutely right about the other artists you react to. You work hard to give me a reaction to an artist I love and I should respect the additional work you do to introduce others. I’m very well-rounded in the music I listen to, so I’m not unfamiliar with your other reactions, but I will take the time out to support you whenever you react to something, regardless of the artist.
I make my comments far too long and I know you don’t always have the time to read each one, but I am curious to know if you were able to make a not of the four songs I requested in a previous video. Ironically, Bad Guy was one of them!
Anyways, you have my full support going forward instead of just selective viewing. You’re an incredibly genuine person and I look forward to getting to know you more through all your videos. Thanks for the content!

This is my favorite song of all time. It is full of references to Eminem's musical life. The most impressive thing is the last verse, in this, Eminem speaks to himself, reproaching himself for everything he has done throughout his career. The Marshall Mathers LP was Em's best selling album, which is "Stan", "Bad guy" is on The Marshall Mathers LP2, the second part of that album 13 years apart, so it mentions both sides of the coin: Mathew telling him that it's a strategy for people to buy it, and the other side, at the end he says that he is trying to recapture the magic that he had, making the last chapter. For me, the most underrated song of Eminem

The weird thing about this song is that it's about Matthew, who vows revenge against Eminem and breaks into his house to kill him, this song came out in 2013, and in 2020, a fan named Matthew actually broke into Eminem's house to kill him, and even confronted Eminem, but Eminem was able to talk him down until his security arrived.
And yes this is a fan-made video. But it's all Matthew, until the finale when the beat switches, then it's Slim talking to Em about his "failing" career and everything he said coming back to haunt him.

The cadence, rhymescheme & Flow on this song is unmatched and in there, he addressed all the negative media attention he's been receiving and how he's used as an escape goat from parents & the media for their own problems.

There's an earlier example of the demon voice used in Relapse, a darker and more gory album, on the song 'My darling', it shows his relationship with shady during his addiction. It's in reference to the origins of shady; a demon who was in em's/Marshall's mirror, he punched the mirror and shady possessed Marshall. It was only a sort of promotional video that wasn't released but you can see the image on the cover of 'the slim shady ep'.

Amazing reaction as always love how into the music you get and especially now how you really try and get into the lyrics, but this was from the perspective of Mathew Mitchell (Stans little brother) up until the last verse but I mean music is subjective so if you feel like that's what you hear then that's what you hear. Also yes this was a fan made video and there isn't an official music video for this song unfortunately but imo it really doesn't need one em's storytelling especially in this song gives such vivid imagery so it would have been cool to see a lyrics video instead also the last verse was em's conscience rapping also the hook applies to both Mathew and Em especially taking in the last verse into consideration. Also its in my personal top 3 verses of his ever the other 2 being his verse on best friend and medicine man and I rank them jn no particular order I just can't decide lol (I also have the verse he does in his chlorospetic remix just below them) Also fun fact this verse got awarded verse of the decade and yeah have a good rest of your day/night when/if you read this and I'll be sure to check some of the other songs you mentioned at the beginning of the video since I do exclusively listen to rap and I'll admit I've only really checked out your eminem reactions so I might aswell get out of ky comfort zones and give them a try just like you did lol

As lyrical as Eminem his, he has his "Best verses" where it's just lyrical insanity, double entendre after double, flow chopping etc.
But then you have this masterpiece, this final verse of this song. The depth and story telling and perspective he gives is UNREAL, it's so fucking poetic and passionate it's so overwhelming and never fails to give me chills. A real look into the life of Eminem and the emotions he's almost scarred himself with for due to his past. He needed to get this off his chest some how and so badly, and the way he did it with this verse from the perspective of his conscience (or lack of)
This man is magical, and it will be a very very sad day when he leaves this world, after writing this I have decided I am getting a tattoo of him ASAP.

Double entendres are when he takes two words or group of words put in his bars that sound the same but different meanings.
Like in another song when he dissed MGK he said "You had me IN YOUR SCOPE and you grazed me, but one call to INTERSCOPE and your Swayze." "In your scope" (down the barrel of a rifle) and "Interscope" was Interscope Records which is MGK's record label. THATS what a double entendre is and he does this ALOT in his lyrics of every song. He's the best to do it.

You hardly missed a beat in this song, very impressive. A word of advice, it might be worth having the lyrics displayed on a phone or a tablet (perhaps even a printout). Em has a way of speaking certain words with a specific enunciation, and it can add another layer to the song.
An example is in Not Afraid.
    - You said you was KING, you lied through your TEETH. For that, fuck your FEELINGS (fillings), instead of getting CROWNED (crowns can be for heads or teeth) you're getting CAPPED (Caps for teeth, baseball cap, and also Capped as in shot/assassination of a King).
Your understanding of his lyrics have developed very quickly, you're clearly a very clever dude.
