    I am going to be making my bridal bouquet and have watched many tutorials for technique. Your video and bouquet stole my heart. My mind was blown when you folded over the leaves at the beginning and again when you added the sparkle to the roses, I plan to do that but yours was the first tutorial I have seen where it was actually done so I got to see the practical results!! That bouquet is breathtaking and exactly what I am aiming for!!

    Sorry, one more question: how long did you soak the holder? I did a bouquet holder with a thinner handle (just for display), it was SO heavy!

    How do you keep the foliage from falling out? My friend was walking on the beach with her cascading bouquet and some of the flowers started falling out.

      AMAZING- AWESOME Question my Friend- Thank you Michelle- I use the FloraLok product- it's a special glue made by Oasis Floral Products- it has a WD40 type nozzle- after you have arranged the bouquet- I go back and glue all the flowers into place with FloraLok... here's a link- it's a DEFINITE MUST DO- rule with a cascade- or what happened to your friend will happen ALL THE TIME... www.oasisfloralproducts.com/products/floralock-plus-stem-adhesive?variant=32916028358752

    Thanks for the question on our UA-cam Preview Channel... The Cost of Cascade Bridal Bouquets can vary depending on the different flowers that are used and size of the bouquet... and the Wedding Designer you enlist to create it for you... the one I created would retail for about $300... It's important to consider costs... but at the same time... your bridal bouquet is a memory that will live on with you forever... in photos and your mind... it's one of the most important factors in your wedding!

    I use Cold Adhesive to Glue my Flowers into Long IVY Garlands... or Smilex Garlands... to create LONG Trailing Cascades... then I attach a wire to the Ivy or Smilex Garland... and wire to the Design Port Divisions on the Gala Bouquet Holder... coating the Garland with Chrysal Professional Glory helps them last much longer too!!!

    • @LifeinBloom
      @LifeinBloom  5 років тому +3

      That is the HUGE advantage to having a flower foam based holder- temperature and wilting can be a huge issue- and this is a good example of why we need a water supply to make sure the flowers last as long as possible... thanks for sharing that experience Christine... and Thanks so much for subscribing to my Channel... I'm making this for my wedding next Friday! And I bought 12 small gala bouquet holders for my 11 bridesmaids!!
    Question: I know that we float soak the holders for a few minutes... I am planning to have the flower arranging party the day before the wedding. I bought Chrysal professional glory... They should last until the next day right? We have a refridgerator in the garage. Should I store the arrangements in there overnight? Not too cold? SHould I store them upside down, right side up, or is it ok to lay them on their sides? Do I need to get more fluids in the foam later on?
    THANK YOU!!!!

      Great Suggestion Kara... but here's the rub- these videos were created over a decade ago- so some items are no longer valid... if you are looking for the Gala Bouquet Holder- here's a link- www.uBloom.com/BuyGala - if you are looking for the halogen glitter or tack 2000- they are available at local craft stores... if there is something specific you are looking for... just put it in your comment- and I can help you find it... we have over 1800+ Videos- so originally there weren't websites and such that offered them... so going back and adding or updating links would be costly and cumbersome... I'm always happy to help ... just wanted you to know the backstory! Have a Flower Filled Day!

    I very much enjoy your videos, but here in the UK we don't have the same products available as in the US. I use Oasis holders who supply a lot of products, but I've not seen one with a clear handle like yours. Do you not cover your handles with ribbon?

    • @LifeinBloom
      @LifeinBloom  3 роки тому

      Thanks for the kind comments... it's true... You don't have the Gala® Bouquet Holder in England... I created it for the FloraCraft Corporation - since Oasis wouldn't listen to my complaints about the holders- they had created... I was the FIRST Oasis Design Director in the USA... and a long time fan of the Oasis Flower Foam... I still LOVE it and USE it Daily... it's amazing... Love the NEW Midnight foam - but back to the holder- I felt the holder should not be JUST Utilitarian - it should also be attractive- so that we didn't need to go to the extra effort- of covering it... or applying ribbon or anything else... the Gala® Bouquet Holder is CLEAR- and it can also be painted with "Oasis Floral Paint"- (It's Design Master here in the USA)... the Just for Flowers Products are Brilliant as they are also transparent- so it's really Beautiful when you use them... I also love the FULL Sphere of Flower Foam inside... it's a 4 Inch Ball- and you can access it from any direction- this bouquet holder - has 360 degrees of insertion possibilities... there was room for so much improvement on the standard bouquet holders we've used for decades... it was time for an update... THANKS for letting me ramble on - I appreciate your kind comment- and the observations from across the pond!

    What is the diameter of the bouquet holder you are using? The one I have is approx 4” in diameter, and it just seems too small, yet I was told it was the largest available through Oasis. If the one you are using is larger, where did you get it? Thank you for your help.

    • @LifeinBloom
      @LifeinBloom  4 роки тому

      Hi Lisa... Yes... I created the Gala Bouquet Holder- because I did not like the Oasis Holders- I wanted a bouquet that could be entered from any side- that is why it is a round sphere- with large design ports in all sides... the Gala comes in 2 sizes- with a 3 inch sphere inside one and 4 inch sphere inside the other... you can order gala here- www.uBloom.com/BuyGala I hope this information is helpful... thank you so much for the comment and asking the questions!

    wire and tape . Im not comfortable with oasis and glue

    • @LifeinBloom
      @LifeinBloom  Рік тому

      Hi Joseph... it's the Glue in combination with the flower foam- and cutting the stem at an appropriate angle... those three things- hold the stems in place... it's science... maybe you can give the Glue and Flower Foam another chance...I don't enjoy wiring and taping... so I love this process and always have great success!

    • @LifeinBloom
      @LifeinBloom  8 років тому +1

      +Jean Tovern Typically it's caused by using Steph Stems... a product made to assimilate the flower to the bouquet... I DO NOT remove the calyx... and I glue it into the bouquet.. my other secret trick is using Stephanotis from Eufloria Flowers... (www.EufloriaFlowers.com)... they grow some of the Best Steph on the planet... and I find that gluing the steph into the bouquet with Cold Oasis Adhesive (or rubber cement)... provides the best result... I do hope this is helpful... thanks for the kind comments... I appreciate it! Wishing the BEST!

    • @LifeinBloom

      Yes- I soaked the Flower foam (which is a sphere) inside the Bouquet Holder- I do this because its the water reserve for the Flowers- that keeps them fresh and looking great for the wedding... If you are using Silk Flowers- they do make a DRY Foam Bouquet Holder that was created for Artificial Flowers!

It's a hard question to answer... as it depends on the flowers and time it takes to construct ... although I feel comfortable saying that this bouquet would range from $200 to $300.. based on the content I used to create it... It could be LESS or MORE depending on the flowers that are selected!

    Float soak the Gala Bouquet Holder in Water that has been treated with Flower Food... for about 3-5 minutes... if you float soak properly... it's fast... Place the holder on top of the water and allow to float and soak naturally. No need to soak flowers for an HOUR like most people say! hehehe!

    Everyone has different elements that affect the pricing schedule. Flowers and Foliage are Perishable and usually are marked up accordingly... where the price of supplies is usually doubled. The Labor Charge for creating a bouquet can be figured by a % or by number of minutes... taking into consideration for shipping flowers or supplies... may add to the total price... and estimated range for this bouquet would be $300-$500.... based on content... remember it can be made smaller w/ fewer flowers!

    Can you use this Gala bouquet holder on artificial silk flowers? I am want this type of bouquets and my theme "Rustic Country" I want Sunflowers as the focal, burlap stemmed ivory roses from Amazon with maybe daisies and obviously greeery. We'll be making our own rustic arch with some draping and flowers using the square or rectangular flower holders with zip ties to secure. Our guest seating very simple using bales of hay covered with white sheeting and held with a heavier twine. Tents with a buffet, and for the table for the Wedding Cake on a wooden pedestal, a lounging area also made from bales of hay, covered with old quilts, some homemade burlap toss pillows, a table for eating, a metal troff filled with ice for drinks, wood signs. Unity candle in wood and for my parents and his Mom, chairs I'm hoping to borrow for comfort. A table next to his Mom with a customized candle (in a Sunflower ring) with a special poem in memory of his Dad. Your work is stunning!

    You can use the same technique in this video to create a Silk (or Permanent) Wedding Bouquet... you would use HOT GLUE instead of the Cold Glue... I used the Large Size Gala Bouquet holder... however you can use the smaller size to create a smaller version! Usually the Larger Size is BOXED by itself... they also offer a Gala Bouquet Holder with Special DRY Flower Foam that works very well for Silk Flowers!

    If you are creating an arrangement... rather than a bouquet... you could also use the gala bouquet holder in a vase... or place the handle of the holder into Flower foam... to give you a surface to extend the cascade!

    How far in advance can you make this cascade and still look fresh?

    • @LifeinBloom
      @LifeinBloom  5 років тому

      Great Question- Using the Gala Bouquet holder - As it provides a water supply- and IF You have Refrigeration to store the Bouquet- you can make it up on 1 - 1 1/2 days ahead of time... if you do not have Refrigeration- for storage of the completed bouquet- you will need to make it no less than the NIGHT BEFORE- Use... I also advise using Chrysal Professional Glory- after creating- to help maintain freshness... Thanks for the question!

    lovely placement of flowers . I am planning to make one for my friends wedding .

    Thank you :)

      +sailee ghorpade We don't record the actual number or varieties of flowers used... because I know that so many of our viewers live in different parts of the world and different flowers are in season at different times... or other flowers may be more common... and as the list of flowers change... then the amount of stems you would use also change... We highly suggest experimenting, to get a look you desire and also to practice before a big event like a wedding...

    Beautiful bouquet! I would have loved a closer view of the roses with the glitter. The tiny peek at them in the dish as the glitter was being applied didn't do them justuce.

    Hi
    Can i buy the Gala bouqet holder in England ? I have just been asked to make a very large bouquet and have been told i will have to wire the whole bouquet because of the width and length.I have just watched your video and was totally amazed at the finish bouquet. I will be using roses,lilianthus fressia,and wax flower.

    Does the shape and design of the bride's gown define the bouquet dimensions?

    • @LifeinBloom

      Not as much as the Want and Desire of the Bride- Typically the Bride tells me "WHAT I WANT" and that is what I create... Hope that helps Jann!

    Thank you I lost my confidence in my abilities as an ex florist, but you are a natural born teacher. You reminded me of so many things and some new one. I had to laugh when you mentioned the old wiring, as I was taught at college by a old lady and as my junior florist by an old lady. Both used that technique, so that is all I knew. It was very time consuming. Thanks

    It is very beautiful! Only I wonder if it could be very heavy for a bride to carry?

    • @LifeinBloom
      @LifeinBloom  4 роки тому +1

      I have only had one bride complain of the weight- in my entire career and it was MUCH MUCH Bigger than this... I always explain to the bride- if they want a big bouquet - it will have weight... so managing the expectations up front is important... big bouquets weigh more than small ones... simple fact!

    Spray white aster spoil everything, it made all boquette look cheap. Orchids and Casablanca lilium looks like an urban boquette with aster white. Mr Swanke, why you not use instead of white aster- add some more dendrobium or gypsophila if you like small delicate shapes, or your favorite spray rose, or miny pompon spray chrysantemums ?

    • @LifeinBloom
      @LifeinBloom  9 років тому +1

      Dmitry Neustroev Everyone chooses what they want in their bouquets... if you don't like spray aster... you can use more dendrobiums or babies breath... I like White Spray Aster... so that is why I used it... You can use whatever you like in your own projects!! Thanks for the comment!
