Yeah, that was super condescending. He was like, "So you felt like you were having these problems?" as if they were imagining them. But it does confirm what I read in this memoir written by a doctor where empathy/compassion and basic social skills aren't really focused on in medical training, and these doctors are probably also holding tight to what they believe to be true and what they were taught, so they ignore potentially contradicting evidence. I'm a vegan myself but I'm not going to tell them that their experience isn't real. If that's what works with their bodies, who am I to say differently.

@Zemaphobia Ah, figures. I’m weirdly disappointed though, it would be cool if it was some rare and utterly unique flavour. All the foodies would be clamouring for the rare radioactive egg that only the “lucky few” get to try 😂
I wonder what the risk is for that type of thing. If it's radioactive I'm assuming that you can only do that test so many times in your life, and maybe doctors have to be careful around the eggs? Kind of like how doctors always go into a sideroom when you get an x-ray. It's safe for the patient because it's only a one-time deal, but it's dangerous for doctors that would be exposed all day.

They said they tried going vegan and it didn't work. I don't know why it's so hard to believe that the canivore diets work for some people. @@notaperson9831 Yes, I’m vegan and I can accept that there are reasons I would kill an animal. Most people don’t just kill animals for fun so of course you think of the extremes.

Animals have the same pain receptors as we do and you can be perfectly healthy with a vegan diet if not even more because meat and eggs get oxide when ingested and become TMAO increasing the risk of kidney disease (I can provide source just ask) so you are killing animals for taste essentially its unnecessary death and harm so would you do the same to a human? The symmetry is there because they both feel, they both have subjectivity, pain, etc
Hope you can see the correlation, why won't you hit a human? Oh because they feel pain im assuming, why won't you hit a cow? Oh because they feel pain but how about breeding them to existence and be trapped in a cage in their feces and be shot in the head with a nail gun for the taste of their meat/flesh would that be okay? It is? What if you replaced it with a human?
solsthiem all i’m saying is that manslaughter is incomparable to killing an animal. Humans live longer than cows, they form more complex relationships than cows, they are more animalistic than humans, and they have shorter memories of each other, whereas humans remember each other for life times. The question “would you kill an animal?” wasn’t “would you want to kill an animal?”. I don’t want to kill a cow but if it’s charging at me and i have a gun, it’s me or it. I don’t want to kill a human but if they were charging at me and I had a gun, I’d find it a lot harder to pull the trigger on a person. That’s my personal opinion and it doesn’t bother me ethically. i’m not interested in arguing it with a self-entitled person who’s trying to force their lifestyle on others with a “holier-than-thou” attitude. Organs are incredibly good for you. I’m vegan now due to restrictive eating (I hope to become an omnivore but my brain lies to itself and says meat is unhealthy), but before that I would talk about organ meats and how healthy they are (and I still do). I’m from the US, and my family looks at me weird when I mention organ meats. Many people do. It’s definitely outlandish here, lol. Liver is pretty normal, though, I think more so to the older demographic.
organ meat is common in Africa too, because no piece of the animal is supposed to go to waste but its definitely a personal taste thing. my mom used to eat pig liver paste until she found out what it was, because she doesn't deal with pork and i just dont like the texture of most organ meat, except intestines. when made right that shit slaps.
It’s a cultural thing unfortunately. Organ meat is eaten in a variety of places, but sometimes the more “cultured” a society gets the more they start to look down on their cultural roots and label such things as “dirty” or “gross.” When in actuality there’s nothing wrong with eating organ meat.
@@Loveanimalsdonteatthem Calling eating for survival “less gross” when it isn’t gross at all. Inuits in the Arctic need to kill belugas every now and then because they can’t grow any vegetation at all. Many people below the poverty line can’t pick and choose their diets, and have to eat whatever they can. Being able to choose your diet is a privilege, and people who can’t afford it shouldn’t be shamed. And people who don’t choose it also shouldn’t be shamed because it’s their choice.
As someone who cares a lot about animals I think being vegan or even vegetarian is such a nice and compassionate thing to do, such a shame that these hipster type people take it to the extreme and make it so crazy and political. Its just weird to make a diet into your whole personality (either way)
Here's the thing right. If more people were vegetarian (the reason is irrelevant), you would have lesser and lesser plants in the environment. Now, most animals depend on this vegetation for shelter and food. So if humans start using it all up, they'll actually start killing animals, without actually eating them. So I feel it's important for both vegetarians and non vegetarians to co-exist without trying to get more people to adapt to their way of eating. The balance is required.

As long as you’re mindful of what you’re eating and how, pretty much any diet can be sustainable, whatever you do don’t be a dick and just live your life.
@@iceice3565 I meant that we each have unique gut microbiomes. Each one of us picked up a variety of different bacteria after we were born depending on what we were fed and other environmental factors that then go on to make up our current gut microbiome. I’m not an expert in any way so please don’t take my ramblings as fact, but from my very basic knowledge, I would assume different gut microbiomes would do better with different diets. That would explain why diets might work for some while not for others, but mostly if I had to guess, I think we may have evolved to pick up bacteria that helped digest locally available food more effectively in return for a “safe host”. Then that gave us digestive systems that preferred a more specific and limited diet, while today in our somewhat “unnatural environment” we have a much larger variety of food available. This then possibly lead to us establishing more diverse diets faster than the bacteria could “catch up” with assisting the “effective digestion” of our expanding diets. Again I’m not an expert in any way, I’m a dude putting this together from what I’ve learned about the digestive system. I should also in no way be considered a factual source, I just like playing with information I learn, so feel free to educate me or tell me how I’m misinformed, I do appreciate being corrected if warranted. Anyways I apologize for rambling on, I hope it made some sense and wasn’t just a big waste of time.
@@FlubberGamer Haha, you seem like a chill dude. But I think you have your information a bit.. off. You were right when you said each one of us picked up a variety of different bacteria unique to each of us, I will give you that, but you're under the assumption that some people have to eat meat because of how their gut microbiomes are? I don't wanna assume that's what you meant.(Note that I'm no expert on the subject I haven't researched much into it, just enough for this little debate) Because our gut microbiomes are linked to virtually all aspects of our health, this is why some people tend to have faster metabolisms and lose weight easily while some struggle in that aspect or some people are allergic to some foods. And you are right when you said our different gut microbiomes would do better on different diets, as one would. But the question isn't as elaborate as "Which diet should I stick to?", the real question should be "Is this food healthy?" because the influence of the foods we eat on the gut microbiome can have effects on human health. Recent studies have suggested that the intestinal microbiome plays an important role in modulating risk of several chronic diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease, obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. When someone says they “can’t” be vegan, it’s probably not 100% true. There’s nothing so unique about meat, dairy, or eggs that you can’t possibly get the same components from plants and supplements. There are many kinds of vegan diets, and you can combine “vegan” with mostly any other restriction that needs to be observed. A vegan diet could prevent, treat and even reverse type 2 diabetes as it is low in fats and high in fibre. Eating vegan helps reduce our risk of suffering from cancer and other diseases.(Note that just like any diet you can eat unhealthy most of the candies and snacks I would eat were already vegan so vegan doesn't necessarily mean healthy but you're more conscious of the things you eat so if you ate something unhealthy it's because you knew of the consequences and continued) Furthermore, humans are opportunistic omnivores which means we can eat meat IF we have to. But in this modern society where food is readily available we have the choice, and it's a bigger choice than you would think my friend. ANYWAY this is long LOL but I hope I helped a bit and I'm not tryna change your mind and make you vegan I haven't even touched the iceberg of the benefits, ethics and environmental impact of veganism.

Tbf eating radioactive eggs isn’t as strange as it sounds. It literally just means a molecule in the eggs, probably amino acids, have been labelled with a radioactive isotope (probably heavy nitrogen or carbon). Seeing as these amino acids will be heavier molecularly speaking, they’ll be easier to track in the body when undergoing a scan. It shouldn’t have any adverse effects on your health and they’ll pass through normally. If that makes sense? I’m not sure I’ve explained this very well, so apologies if this is hard to follow.

Why would the first answer be "saving a baby from a bear" and not "bugs are animals, and we kill bugs whenever it's desired or needed" ? i.e. we squash creepy spiders and flies die on our windshields, so we obviously have decided some lives are less significant than others (based on complexity) A snake owner feeds it mice, and a lizard owner feeds it crickets. Looking at you cody XD Obviously these are disconnected from the horrors of factory farming, but we dont have to look for niche cases when talking about killing animals. We do it every day. The questions are, is eating meat needed? Is it ethical? Is it practical? The economic factors are the worst. It is not economically feasible for a minimum wage worker to get protein from legumes. But it should be. If we want animals to live and die more humanely, the change must be gradual, since the meat industry has a lot more money behind it than the beans industry.
I agree with the sentiment, but you should do some more research on vegan protein sources I think. It's actually very feasible and often cheaper to get protein as a vegan :)
I agree with the bug statement. I’m vegan and I will kill ants, mosquitos, and wasps if they get in the house. I would also kill fleas if they got on my animals
@@badgerval6886 for a minimum wage worker it’s not as feasible to be vegan as say being omnivore or carnivore, you can buy some cheap meat at a local supermarket for 5 or ten bucks, if you want to buy some organic vegetables it’ll cost more and you won’t get as full from a leafy salad compared to a burger. If you have the money and want to be vegan then go for it but the reality is a lot of people can’t afford organic products either because their income doesn’t allow it or that what they can afford isn’t enough to fulfill their appetite.

The reason why you don't get constipated only eating meat is because your body's need for fibre is directly correlated to how many carbs you consume, your vitamin & mineral daily intake needs also change. This is why keto/carnivore people need a higher intake of magnesium, potassium, and sodium; less carbs means your body hangs on to less water (1g of carb roughly holds onto max 3g of water) meaning you flush out those minerals faster than when eating more carbs.

But putting people down for things that are personal choices? That makes less sense. It's when people care in unproductive ways that it becomes a problem. When people care to influence something negatively but it doesn't affect them or someone they love, or if it doesn't oppress a group of people, that creates more issues and even resentment in society. Vegans: So you’re saying you’d kill a human??
@@solsthiem3329 I could go for a nice porterhouse right now. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
solsthiem all i’m saying is that manslaughter is incomparable to killing an animal. I’ll live my life and you live yours because even if i became a vegan, there’s billions of other meat-eating people in the world who definitely eat more meat than i do so it wouldn’t even matter.
@@emmap286 i never did or tried to, also about the last part it's not about how it changes the world is about doing the right thing if it's wrong to litter you won't do it and if it's wrong to kill animals for the pleasure of taste you won't do it you shouldn't a ocean isn't one drop of water it's little drops, it's also not a lifestyle is about the right or wrong.
the talk ab organs being gross really made me confused at first since its common as hell to eat them in turkey
It’s just gross to eat carcasses in the first place lol less gross for survival but most people don’t eat them for survival but for pleasure

Eat what makes you feel good and healthy, each and everyone of us has a fairly unique digestive system that will react to some foods better than others. As long as you’re mindful of what you’re eating and how, pretty much any diet can be sustainable, whatever you do don’t be a dick and just live your life.
No, eating veggies only is murder and you are evil.
Unique digestive system? Where are you getting this info bud.
@@FlubberGamer Sorry, and another thing about your original comment on sustainability, just know that might not be the case.

A snake owner feeds it mice, and a lizard owner feeds it crickets. Looking at you cody XD
Obviously these are disconnected from the horrors of factory farming, but we dont have to look for niche cases when talking about killing animals.

Nah it's more that you choose to kill animals by continuing to eat them, which is the normal, less extreme scenario that applies to most people. Most people aren't encountering mountain lions and bears on the daily. I'm vegan, obviously I would kill an animal if it was trying to kill me if I had to. It's a bad faith question designed to create arguments and division.
The thing is eating beef is literally killing an animal for no reason if you can easily eat something else.
