What he was probably getting at is that the protective caps on our DNA strands decline over time until we die, which is why we age. If that didn't happen and the protective caps wouldn't wear out, we would keep regenerating cells at a high enough rate to stop us from dying of old age. (Don't quote me on this, it's been a while since highschool biology.) But yeah, what he said was just inaccurate and not exactly trustworthy.

What he was probably getting at is that the protective caps on our DNA strands decline over time until we die, which is why we age. If that didn't happen and the protective caps wouldn't wear out, we would keep regenerating cells at a high enough rate to stop us from dying of old age. (Don't quote me on this, it's been a while since highschool biology.) But yeah, what he said was just inaccurate and not exactly trustworthy.
