The final episodes of Season 5 were full of really intense action scenes, and even some of the calmer scenes were the most intense stuff ever (that scene in the apartment, if you've watched it you know what I'm talking about). I think in some aspects, BCS is way above Breaking Bad, which just goes to show how Peter Gould managed to perfect and innovate the formula they use.
@@deg1studios BCS is definitely a MUCH slower burn. The first season can be really really hard for some people to get through because it doesn't ratchet up the tension immediately like BB. however, by the third season it is on a similar pace. So it is slower. until it isn't.

Some interesting bits of Howard character building: He tells Kevin that he always wanted to be the cowboy on the Mese Verde logo (and that he had his first checkbook as a child). Kevin says he wanted to buy the horse. In an earlier episode, Howard says that he wanted to go out on his own but his father talked him into joining the firm. I really feel like Howard was more of a free spirit in his younger days and slowly got pushed into being the suit he is. It makes sense why he has a soft side for both Kim and Jimmy
@@hmp01 I think it's both! He is definitely frustrated because Chuck forced him to not discipline Kim when he was still upset. As he says later "I always pushed you harder because I knew I could expect more from you".
I think it has a lot to do with there being a strict code of honor among the criminal enterprise. Rules to be followed in order to prevent unwanted attention and unnecessary problems from interfering with day-to-day operations. Tuco kinda broke those rules and is paying the price as a result. Hector, on the other hand, being oldschool and wanting things to run his way needed to ensure that Mike would not be a problem in the future. Of course, I am just making assumptions lol.. I could be completely wrong.
Just so you know man... Peter Gould is the main showrunner on this show, not Vince.... Gilligan is a producer, and directs episodes here and there, but Peter doesn't get enough credit for his work on this show.
I agree Peter Gould should be praised much much more. Hopefully they manage to land the final season and make it the best season of Better Call Saul and have this show fulfill it's destiny. If it manages to do that, this show will become even better than Breaking Bad and I find it kind of impossible for Peter Gould not getting the recognition after that.

The one director that many think has the most in common with Kubrick, though on the superficial level they are totally different, David Lynch also got snubbed from Oscars and Emmy awards.

A Subtle detail I like is that when the Lawyer ask Kim to work for him, she at first is excited to hear that. However when that Waiter brought his drink, the Lawyer said “Jesus did you have to go to Moscow!” Right when he said “we’ll put you on track to be partner.” Kim was a two year partner at the start of the show for decades of hard labor she did for HHM. She worked in the mailroom for them and was one of their best lawyers, yet because of a simple mistake and losing one client they took her office, and put her doc review where she can’t even set foot in court. Kim was Reminded right at this moment that if she did end up with this Lawyer, she will be in the same boat but just a different name. She earned her right to be a partner, however these people don’t care. It doesn’t matter how good of a job you do, you make one mistake they will ruin your life.
I don't remember much of how I felt or what my reactions were back when I first watched breaking bad and better call saul, but I clearly remember I had the exact same reaction to that Mike's footprint trick. I was blown away for sure

Lawyers and being in an area of law is a lot more logically driven instead of being emotionally driven and I love that. I was a little slow on the uptake. It wasn't until the second time around that I remembered that Mike killed one of the twins. Which mean he killed one of the guys that threatened his grand daughter. Mike is not a sadistic person, but I'm guessing he got some satisfaction from that.

I was a little slow on the uptake. It wasn't until the second time around that I remembered that Mike killed one of the twins. Which mean he killed one of the guys that threatened his grand daughter. Mike is not a sadistic person, but I'm guessing he got some satisfaction from that.
