  • If you are struggling to remove lino flooring, give this method a try !
Works very well with the foam backed type, as shown here, which is common in the UK.
    Good luck with your project!

I can't thank you enough for this video! I recently purchased my first doer upper home after living in New builds, and I found the laminate had been glued across the entire floor and was proving very difficult/painful to lift off, I spent about 4 hours and made very little progress, I then found your video and in 25 minutes did nearly half the floor.

Excellent video. I’m getting ready to remove about 500 sq. ft. of glued down carpeting. Thanks for sharing.

Omg I love this video thank you! And your accent rocks!!! Everyone is doing it with heat guns but I like this method. Gonna go try it!

OK thank you!. Yes heat guns give off fumes which are not very nice. Make sure the drill has SDS on it (or provides hammer action without rotating). Good luck with it from 🇬🇧

The other thing to remember when lifting Lino is the older stuff was often full of Asbestos.

look up Sentinel adhesive solvent 626 or 747 Plus. Leave on 60-90 min and glue scrapes up clean and easy

Does it penetrate the actual linoleum or vinyl? Or do you use it just to remove the residue?

Can you use this tool as a jackhammer? Like for digging in rocky ground

Yes in fact I used it to remove some of the concrete footings when I put up a new fence a few years ago. However it is about on the limit for that kind of work and you would be better with something bigger. It did get hot !
It is really for removing tiles or drilling holes in brick and so on.

FedEx that looks like it'll take forever I'm thinking about using this 60,000 btu propane torpedo heater. Damn I wish I had an SDS drill right now

Heating it will work but be very careful of the fumes. Keep the room well ventilated, with a fan if possible. Or wait for the SDS drill to arrive, much more fun!

Would this work for wood subfloor? I imagine it would just destroy it.

It might scratch it but the blade is not that sharp. Concrete floors are quite common in the UK so no problem there.

And turning that adaptor required a new lathe chuck and other "essential" tooling?....

Hi John, OK yes fair enough. In the UK this is sold as Lino (with the foam backing). I'll see if UA-cam will let me change the title to avoid misleading anyone (which was not my intention). Thanks
