Saladino is the man. I started using tallow a couple months ago and love it. I am much healthier because of listening to Paul. Put my arthritis in remission by listening to a previous video talking about linoleic acid. Had I not listened to Paul I'd still be on meds. Keep up the good work! Paul is a real doctor unlike the crap we have in Canada.
Think about the original McDonalds restaurants. They used ground beef from local sources. They used beef tallow for their fries. The milk shakes used real cream based ice cream. The McDonalds of the 60s and 70s was a healthy restaurant compared to upscale restaurants in today’s world.
I have to disagree with Paul here - IMO beef tallow or ghee is not as good as he makes them out to be, for cooking. He has himself stated in his previous videos that oxidized cholesterol is the main cause for heart disease, not LDL or C-reactive protein or whatever. And both beef tallow and ghee contain oxidized cholesterol, which increases when you fry food in those fats. I use coconut oil for frying, and use raw butter whenever I'm bulking to get additional calories.

It is likely not a big deal to consume oxidized cholesterol from diet if you have no pre-existing health issues, as even if consumed daily, the amount of oxidized cholesterol in food is likely a fraction of the amount of oxidized cholesterol necessary to induce pathology by itself. Animal fats have a lot of benefits that other fats do not possess.
I’d agree until I see some of his debates. He always get given nuance and he backs down do “we don’t know enough we need more research”. I’d expect that same line in his videos but I don’t see it
I live in the area where Paul sources the tallow. I go to my butcher and buy 6kg of lamb or beef fat costs me $12. Then I put it in my slow cooker and the tallows done.
And $12 of that fat makes a very large supply of tallow. My local butcher freezes the suet, and grinds it. I renders a lot quicker, as a result, and a lot more evenly. I swear by beef tallow
I was introduced to tallow for skincare by a family member last year. I haven’t used anything for my face or my skin ever since. It healed my acne, brightened my dark spots, and moisturizes my skin more than any store bought product ever has. I whip my own body butter and face balm at home from a grass fed bucket of tallow that I order every few months and I guarantee that this is what I’ll be using for body care for the rest of my life. I mix it with about 20% bees wax and coco butter as well and use it as a milking cream for my cows teats while milking, replaced neetsfoot oil for my saddles with it, use it as a hoof dressing on the horses, on scrapes and scratches, especially good extra thick on dry hands into my leather work gloves as it softens and protects them too. It can finish a little greasy because it isn't blended with alcohol. Read you hand cream label, if it says stearic acid... that's beef tallow.

Not well known: building a strong skeletal structure improves insulin resistance. Hence, Vitamin K2 has a significant impact on insulin resistance. Not coincidentally (since insulin also affects cancer growth), K2 is also linked to significantly lower cancer risk and better outcomes. At least this is my theory for causation…
The main thing is to use organic ghee, butter and tallow, then you are on the safe side. Personally, I use ghee the most and prefer it over butter. Unfortunately, Tallow is quite difficult to get near me.

Butter and ghee is great, however I have milk protein (casein) allergy. Even the tiny bit of protein that is always left in the Ghee is enough to affect me.
Last night I made the first Dr. Paul inspired dinner. Four grilled 1/4 grass fed & finished organic beef mixed with one pasture organic egg and a teaspoon of worcester. One spaghetti squash baked with butter and honey. And a side of Zucchini, artichoke hearts, non raw milk mozzarella with an olive oil vinaigrette. My wife ate everything and came back for a second patty because it tasted so good. Go figure eating food your body actually craves makes a difference and that is only day one.

I found Wisconsin very own ' Marieka' raw milk cheeses and organic coffee in northern Detroit area today....I'm a remedial student in the 'raw milk' sector but not in the organic preference. Thankfully my vegetable patch is doing very well so I didn't have to spend much on vegetables... however, $3 for one non-organic bell pepper now in Michigan! The pricing in the USA is now expensive as Canada was in 2018 after 3 years of Trrudeau unfavorable 'economic' policies. Sprouts and Whole Foods Market have EPIC Beef Tallow. It's not as yellow when solid as the product Dr. Paul S. features in this video, but it is still of good quality & taste.
Has anyone looked into what are the best dietary sources of K2 and how much we need? I’m seeing that egg yolks have 3-5 micrograms, a serving of beef organs might have 5 micrograms, an oz of cheese 10-20 micrograms. The recommended daily intake for men is 120 micrograms. It would be hard to get that much daily from food. My guess is that the 120 microgram/day recommendation is wrong and maybe 30 microgram/day is what we really need. I’m confused about it and curious if anyone has any ideas.
I make my own tallow, but, I’m likely to buy it if I can find it on my grocery shelf. I don’t want to order online. Please make it available through Whole Foods, Natural Grocers, Sprouts, etc.
The problem with animal fat, is persistant organic pollutants. These pop's have an affinity for the fat in animals, and tend to collect there. So butter, cheese, and tallow can often be high in pop's, the organic stuff isn't any better unfortunatly. I'll stick with organic evoo. Tallow also oxidizes during high heat cooking according to studies, and it naturally contains transfat. Olive oil is actually really resistant to oxidation, even when deep frying due to the antioxidants.
Isnt Coconut oils more saturated and thus more peroxidation resistant? Didn't knew tallow had so much oleic acid. Here in Brazil coconut oil is very common.
I bought this tallow years ago, it went rancid after a month, so decided to make my own buy beef fat from my farmer; homemade tallow last years without refrigeration.

I FULLY AGREE with Paul and his scientific knowledge, BUT it was a major letdown when he said he sourced his product from Australia! 😔 There are PLENTY of OUTSTANDING AMERICAN FARMERS to source from!! Organic Valley COOP (HQ: La Frage WI) fell for the same trap a few yrs ago. They sourced organic beef from Australia. Until the American consumers protested (bc OV ingredients should be locally sourced). So NOW they are labeling the source on their pkgs. I try to buy local and especially American whenever I can bc it’s a choice/ freedom I never want to lose!
I follow carnivore diet. I eat ground beef chuck patties and I use NO fat at all because there is plenty fat in the meat. When I used tallow fat I got fat... then I stopped using any fat. I guess it's just me... but no need to add fat to meat.
I would agree that nobody needs tallow to cook their beef patties in or fatty beef in general. But in every other scenario where you cook non-fatty meat it shines. Like using it for eggs, potatoes or if some people like cooking vegetables tallow or any other animal fat is the way to go.

White Oak Pastures delivers and they have great tallow (or suet if you want to render it yourself)

I get a half pound of tallow for €4.50 in the local supermarket, use it mostly for frying so it does me for about 10 days.
For me , I use butter to cook almost all my food . I will use olive oil for some foods

Isn't coconut oil superior to tallow since it's about 82% saturated? Monounsaturated fat can also oxidize.

So butter, cheese, and tallow can often be high in pop's, the organic stuff isn't any better unfortunatly. I'll stick with organic evoo. Tallow also oxidizes during high heat cooking according to studies, and it naturally contains transfat. Olive oil is actually really resistant to oxidation, even when deep frying due to the antioxidants.

Here in Brazil coconut oil is very common.
coconut oil has a peroxidation index of 2. Tallow of 5. Miniscule difference. Tallow is the 2nd lowest on the index

I consider myself vegetarian and like at least a few of the things you're saying, but i like Natto so i don't like it when you ask who likes fermented soybeans. Only reason i don't eat it often is its almost impossible to buy it in large amounts. Most of what they sell is small boxes.

Pasture raised grass fed lard is pretty good also from what I understand. Can you teach me about lard? You never mention it. If you do half leaf lard half tallow it makes amazing tasting potatoes also.

I FULLY AGREE with Paul and his scientific knowledge, BUT it was a major letdown when he said he sourced his product from Australia! 😔 There are PLENTY of OUTSTANDING AMERICAN FARMERS to source from!! Organic Valley COOP (HQ: La Frage WI) fell for the same trap a few yrs ago. They sourced organic beef from Australia. Until the American consumers protested (bc OV ingredients should be locally sourced). So NOW they are labeling the source on their pkgs. I try to buy local and especially American whenever I can bc it’s a choice/ freedom I never want to lose!

I follow carnivore diet. I eat ground beef chuck patties and I use NO fat at all because there is plenty fat in the meat. When I used tallow fat I got fat... then I stopped using any fat. I guess it's just me... but no need to add fat to meat.
I would agree that nobody needs tallow to cook their beef patties in or fatty beef in general. But in every other scenario where you cook non-fatty meat it shines. Like using it for eggs, potatoes or if some people like cooking vegetables tallow or any other animal fat is the way to go.
