Question. Is it possible to have the day and night sockets running at the same time for 2 day lights? Like say you set both of them to turn on at 8am would they both be on or just one?
I wanted to use socket 1 for a dimmable basking light (dimmable) and socket 2 for a nocternal heat lamp. So do I have to set the the socket 1 nightime and the socket 2 daytime (times I want these to turn off as the other heat source will be on)? I also am using a mister which will go into the hum socket and 1 UVB light which will go into the timer socket. Please let me know if this works or I need to change thing around.
Yes, that should all work nicely. To get the specific setup temps you've mentioned where only one heat source is on at a time between Socket 1 and 2, I would set a very low night temp (say 45°) for Socket 1 (this will prevent it from turning on), and a very high daytime setting for Socket 2 to prevent it from turning on during the day. There isn't much information about what to do with the remote - do I leave it plugged in all the time? Does the LCD light ever turn off? Certainly the backlighting can't stay on all the time. Will the battery die?
Yes, the controller should remain plugged in to stay charged and update the Control Center, but it can be removed and programmed remotely. The LCD screen remains on as long as the controller has a charge. See the instructions on the product page for more info: zoomed.com/environmental-control-center/

The sockets for the Environmental Control Center are locked into their designated function and cannot be reprogrammed. If you need another heat controller/probe you'll need another device to manage it. Hope that answers your question.
It is preferred to plug in a device that will pair well with the operation of each outlet, but If you have another device that can be plugged into the remaining plug, you can do that, just be aware that it'll still operate to the settings and function of that outlet and should be set up accordingly for the best and safest results. Our Customer Service can help in more detail: 1-888-496-6633 Hope that helps.
I have a question...I purchased this system because I needed to control my two snakes' heat pads, not so much lighting and humidity, but I wanted something to use on both terrariums. Well, this device has clicked intermittently since I hooked it up and the remote beeps constantly...it's so annoying that it wakes me up in the morning. Why does the device click? Why does the remote beep all the time? I'm at a loss, please help!!
The 'clicking' you're probably referring to is the socket being switched on/off based on your settings. If you feel it is happening too frequently, you may need to adjust your difference period, which decides how much the temperature can fluctuate from the set temperature/humidity before it reacts to it. As for the alarm, if it is constantly going off you either need to adjust the alarm settings, or check that all of the temperature/humidity probes are properly plugged in (even if you are not using them). The Alarm and key tones can also be muted by holding the power and down arrow for 6 seconds (this does not mute error code alarms) For more help and details, please contact our Customer Service at: 1-888-496-6633 Hope that helps.

What is the refresh rate of those ? I got mine in the mail, and the temperature seems to be stuck at 40c while in my home ... it doesn't seem to update frequently ? Is there any way to make sure that it is connected to the hub ?
The refresh rate is almost instantaneous. I would suggest making sure the probes are properly connected, and testing them by changing their positions or maybe changing the temperature gauge from Celsius to Fahrenheit and see if they react to that. If they're still not updating properly, please contact our Customer Service at: zoomed@zoomed.com Hope that helps.
@@ZooMed Thank you. I already contacted the customer service. It appears that I had a defective remote, but it is already sorted out :) they're sending me a new one! That's great customer service there!
Hmm, it would depend on which sockets on the controller you're using. IF that's not what you're looking for, contact our Customer Service and they should be able to help in more detail. They can be reached at: 1-888-496-6633 Hope that helps.
To avoid weird behavior with the temperature settings, keep the setting on Celsius instead of Fahrenheit. Apparently when in Fahrenheit mode, it still rounds up/down to the nearest Celsius equivalent whole number on the backend. I may not be explaining this properly. Hopefully they fix this with a firmware update, if that's even possible.

Hmm, I would guess either your habitat's current temperature is outside of your programmed settings to set off the alarm, or the probe is not properly plugged into the 'Temp2' port. If that doesn't work, I would check to see if maybe the probe's wire is damaged. Please reach out to our Customer Service for more help and information: 1-888-496-6633 Hope that helps.
If it's still beeping even after muting the alarm, that means it's an Error Code alarm. Check your wire connections and make sure your temps are not too high/low. Please contact our Customer Service for more info: 1-888-496-6633
If your remote is beeping, it means that the temperatures or humidity inside the habitat are not reaching your desired settings. I would first make sure that all the devices and probes are properly plugged in (all probes must be plugged in, regardless if you are using them or not). The Remote should indicate which device is not meeting your settings, readjust the settings or setup accordingly. If the video or my description aren't helping, please contact our Customer Service for more in-depth details: 1-888-496-6633 Hope that helps.
Is there any way for this to differentiate between 1 plug that has 2 switches? Example: I have a light that has a nighttime and day time bulb with separate switches. If I leave them both “on” is there a way to program power to shut off one at a time?
The Repti Rain's internal timer will reset whenever it's not active and receiving power from the Environmental Control Center. When it does receive power, it'll activate immediately and act accordingly to the Repti Rain's settings for the duration that the ECC provides it power, and then it'll reset again. Does that make sense?
@@ZooMed Yes. So it is just providing power to it and it acts as if you've done a 5 second power cycle. So you still need to have a spray duration set on the actual reptirain unit. Thank you for the response.

Yes, the controller should remain plugged in to stay charged and update the Control Center, but it can be removed and programmed remotely.
The LCD screen remains on as long as the controller has a charge. See the instructions on the product page for more info:

Does this device adjust the voltage to heat lamps to maintain the heat. Or does it just run them and alarm if the temperature goes to high or too low
The Socket 1 dimmer is the only one that can adjust the voltage and current of the plugged in device.
The other sockets operate by alternating on/off to get the desired setting.
Hope that clarifies the devices operation.
I am interested but I was wondering would it be possible to have a Deep heat projector on the socket 1 and then a UVB daytime light on socket 4? I want the Deep heat projector to stay on just change temps depending on day/night but for my UVB light to shut off at night and turn on at morning.
Yes, that setup should work.
It doesn’t matter what my humidity setting is - 0 or 100 or if I set the alarm to 0 or 100 it always beeps and now it says EE. I’m not even wanting to run a humidity unit, I just want a humidity read out. I got this thing maybe two months ago and it’s been beeping for a month. Holding down the two buttons doesn’t turn it off and the power button won’t stop it

Would any socket be able to have a t8 uvb hood plugged in? I'd like to have a halogen heat lamp, and a uvb hood, both on a dimming schedule. Would that be possible?
Yes, the Environmental Control Center is designed to handle 1000 collective watts.
How do I reset the internal clock?
See the 'Programming - Timers' section of the video at 3:08 to learn how to program the internal clock and day/night hours.
I dont understand how this thing works, im trying to set it up with my ceramic heat lamp for my treefrogs while im gone for the weekend, which socket do i plug it into? i want it to be at 85 during the day and 75 at night for temps
Did you figure this out? This is exactly why I want this and want to know if it works.
ok so i’m getting a second snake and i use a ceramic heater and under tank heat pad, is there any way to program the light sockets so i can use them for second ceramic heater and under tank heat pad? i’m worried i’m gonna do it wrong and screw up majorly. thing is i would need two more probes for the second tank… i’m not sure, any ideas?
The sockets for the Environmental Control Center are locked into their designated function and cannot be reprogrammed. If you need another heat controller/probe you'll need another device to manage it. Hope that answers your question.
does this work if you only have 1 heating source?
It can, but you would have to still set up and program the other outlets and temperature probs to avoid any potential alarms. Hope that helps.
@@ZooMed That's kind of ambiguous. Can I use it with one ceramic heat? Emitter and not connect the other one probe to anything?
It is preferred to plug in a device that will pair well with the operation of each outlet, but If you have another device that can be plugged into the remaining plug, you can do that, just be aware that it'll still operate to the settings and function of that outlet and should be set up accordingly for the best and safest results.

The Alarm and key tones can also be muted by holding the power and down arrow for 6 seconds (this does not mute error code alarms)

@@ZooMed i just checked back to this video after having this thermostat for over a year and i didn’t realize that not having the humidity probe plugged in was causing the error code as i tried for WEEKS to mute it to no avail, literally almost cried while setting it up since it was so annoying. thank god for this comment
Can any mister be used with the environmental control center? Or does it need to be a Zoo Med brand mister for it to work properly?
It should work with any mister, but be aware of the timers unique settings when setting up.
Hi I just got mine set up and everything is working properly but in the instructions it says temp control range of 0 to 199 F but I'm only able to set it to 104F? I just got this and im trying to understand it. My humidity max is set to 60 and the minimum is 50 but almost no matter what it wont get up to 60, its just staying at aroind 50. Also im not sure but the display after setting everything all the sockets say night so like socket 1 shows "Night 86°" its a bit confusing because its currently daytime and my clock is set to AM.

Does socket 5/6 do any sort of 30min dimming or is it just a straight on/off?
It is a direct on/off.
If they're still not updating properly, please contact our Customer Service at: zoomed@zoomed.com
Hope that helps.

Im having trouble I have one light on and my night light in how do I turn off my light blub off and only use my heat light
Hmm, it would depend on which sockets on the controller you're using. You could plug the day light bulb on the day timer socket, and then the heat bulb into your heat socket and that should get the results you're looking for.

To avoid weird behavior with the temperature settings, keep the setting on Celsius instead of Fahrenheit. Apparently when in Fahrenheit mode, it still rounds up/down to the nearest Celsius equivalent whole number on the backend. I may not be explaining this properly. Hopefully they fix this with a firmware update, if that's even possible.

or one Herpstat 6?
My Socket 2 has alarm bells that won’t stop beeping….why is this?
Hmm, I would guess either your habitat's current temperature is outside of your programmed settings to set off the alarm, or the probe is not properly plugged into the 'Temp2' port.
If that doesn't work, I would check to see if maybe the probe's wire is damaged.

how do I get the remote to stop beeping?
If your remote is beeping, it means that the temperatures or humidity inside the habitat are not reaching your desired settings.
I would first make sure that all the devices and probes are properly plugged in (all probes must be plugged in, regardless if you are using them or not).
The Remote should indicate which device is not meeting your settings, readjust the settings or setup accordingly.

@@ZooMed great thank you. I think it's the probe thing as I didnt know that i needed all of them plugged in even if I'm not using them
Proportional or on off heating
Socket 1 is for Dimmable Heat Sources, while Socket 2 is an on/off switch for heating or cooling devices.
Is there any way for this to differentiate between 1 plug that has 2 switches? Example: I have a light that has a nighttime and day time bulb with separate switches. If I leave them both “on” is there a way to program power to shut off one at a time?
No, it would need 2 plugs to differentiate the two.
Awesome!!!
how do you set the Reptirain misting machine to run according to the control center instead of it's own built in timers?
The Repti Rain's internal timer will reset whenever it's not active and receiving power from the Environmental Control Center.
When it does receive power, it'll activate immediately and act accordingly to the Repti Rain's settings for the duration that the ECC provides it power, and then it'll reset again.
Does that make sense?
@@ZooMed Yes. So it is just providing power to it and it acts as if you've done a 5 second power cycle. So you still need to have a spray duration set on the actual reptirain unit. Thank you for the response.
Mine won’t stop beeping I don’t know why
I plugged in the humidity probe and it stopped. Is there a way to have a probe removed? I don’t need a humidity probe for my snake.
Glad you were able to discover the solution. All probes must be plugged in regardless of whether or not they are being used.

@Zoo Med Laboratories, Inc. I need to plug in my heat lamp, UVB and heat mat. Heat lamp and uvb on during the day and heat mat on at night. Plus thermostat on.
Hmm, going by your description I would suggest plugging your heat mat into the Nighttime Timer (Socket 6), plugging the UVB Lamp into the Daytime Timer (Socket 5), and then have your heat lamp plugging into either Socket 1 if it's dimmable OR Socket 2 if it is not dimmable.
Make sure the controller is programmed with the correct time and your preferred day/night temperatures and should function appropriately to your needs.

I wish your printed instructions actually told you how to work the unit. We had to watch 14 minutes into a video to finally get the answer. The instructions that come with this are trash - do better
Holy smokes, this thing just doesn’t stop beeping no matter what…. Instructions are miserable… nice try but I’ll be returning this and ordering another herpstat, figured we’d give this a try because it was available locally but what a mistake….buyer beware.
A consistent beeping will either refer to the habitat's temperature or humidity not being in the region programmed into the controller, an error message, or one of the probes not being plugged in properly.
Regardless, I'm sorry this product didn't meet your standards. I hope you'll give us another try in the future. Take care.
