I've had knee problems for years and learning how to blade is showing me the pain comes mostly from not having crazy strong quads! Looks like I need to work on this basic position, can already feel it making my quads stronger, thank you!
This was a great video! I love how you explained everything, how you showed all of the moves, and emphasized safety. I appreciated your passion for skating as well. 🤘
Great video! I played roller hockey for 7-8 years almost every day growing up, but have not inline skated for ~15 years. I just picked it up again a couple weeks ago and as I got some muscle memory back, I realized that most of my movements were limited to short bursts of speed with sharp stops/changes of direction for hockey. I didn't really have a set position/form for maintaining speed and position over distance. The segment on the basic position was excellent! I had tweaked my body/skate angle to engage my calves and glutes more, but was not utilizing my quads as much as needed. Realized from your video that I need to be sitting way lower in my basic position to engage the quads. I expect a lot more power from each push off now! And fatiguing a lot faster...
Wow, only the Word Wow!! happy for superb pro skater sharing technique I hope I can pass 28 km/hr to 30km/hr someday with these knowledge. Thank you very much that helps
Thanks for this video it will prove helpful once I get back to roller blading / speed skating again. I had to quit in order to devote my time to my studies and have greatly missed the sport. And I can’t wait to get back to it after I’m done my studies.
I'm a rugby player. So, I'm used to being low in a rucking, tackling position. I'm 38 though, and need to lighten up the contact. I just bought my first pair of endurance inlines. Thanks for the tips! I'm not focused on speed, but more so distance so I can find other ways to stay in shape as my rugby career slows down. My son recently started speed skating! So, my marathon running days had me researching endurance skating!!
Awesome!! I used to inline skate in my younger days, but just recently jumped back in. I'm an avid cyclist, but throwing in skating for more variation. Thanks!!!
I stood up in my first inline skates today, and I was very nervous. But I watched your video first and It gave me the confidence I needed. It was great, and I didn't fall down, but this was my first time trying so I hope to do even better in the future. 😁
Great tips! Two questions: 1. When you push with your leg, what is the direction of the push? To the side (90 degree angle) ? 2. How do you maintain good pressure? By actively pushing into the ground?
1. Always to the directly to the side except when you are starting from a stop. 2. Classic technique - glide has no pressure. Double push - always has pressure.
Hi Viktor, another useful video, your skating skills are quite good 😄, but you really need to improove audio recording with wireless microphone. ANYTHING you can get !!!! Chinese one, anything else = bluetooth, WiFi wireless set of reciever, transmitter and clip-on microphone to your smartphone over 3,5mm TRSS jack or lightning connector to iPhone. PLEEEAAASE !!
Thank you my mom is buying me rolerblades its actually my first time having and using it I don't even know the safety measures of using rolerblades thanks this is super helpful new sub btw❤

I do enjoy watching your videos, its very helpful and fascinating.. i was searching a lot to find any advice about speed skates and im glad i found you cuz i have a lot of questions if you could explain 🌹😍❣️ 1. Whats better 125cm 3 wheels or your type, which brand are the best speed skates? 2. I didnt understand how to proparly stop without ruining the wheels.. 3. This suit you wear where should i purchase 4. Why do all skaters and bike riders shave legs 😅 Thanks in advance, im becoming a fan
What size wheels are you on now? Shaved legs .. 2 reasons .. aerodynamics (only relevant above 25kph) and wait until you fall and leave a lot of skin on the road, and cleaning the wound.

I'm 25yrs old and i wanted to pick up a new hobby, Inline skating looks cool, i haven't seen one skater here in our city, so i think I'll just learn it on UA-cam. 😅
I have problems with the inclination to one side of the body when I push to the other side. I feel that I'm going to fall down. Any exercises to improve the phase of inclination of my body and put external position the frame?? Thanks in advance
@@carolinavazquez3140 are you comfortable standing on one foot when in movement? If not that should help. Also when your right foot is moving all your weight should be on your left leg, that’s why it’s important to know how to stay on only one foot.
@@MA-xd9zl yes, I can go straight on one foot but my edge is center, I suppose that I should practice one one foot but changing the edges. Thanks anyway!!
