    I have really been enjoying your channel. I especially like that you don’t limit yourself to only using DT products and really enjoy that you feature larger decor items through your Wednesday sign DIYs. Thanks for sharing!

      Why thank you! At the time I was still making signs and figured why not record them in case other people want to see it and then it just became a thing haha. I’m super happy you enjoy my channel.

    A hint for the future- I find that if I hit old dried hot glue with a heat gun or even a hairdryer and heat it up it usually melts enough to remove it and anything it was holding. (as long as that was the only glue used)

    If you have a table saw you can make your own wood rounds. There are many great UA-cam videos that
    show how to make a circle cutting jig. I usually use a solid color on my rounds that I make on the table saw
    because of the need to fill the hole left in the round's center.

    Your videos are the best. I have enjoyed following you while I learn how to create and sell these - seriously thank you for putting in the time to do all of this. It looks like my local Home Depot carries the 18 inch rounds with the 1 inch depth, so I ordered 10 today to be picked up tomorrow. I know these are pine, but I also have another batch from a vendor who cuts and sands them for me - 27 birch wood 18 inch rounds with the 1/2 inch diameter. I am excited to work with both! I used the majority of your links to purchase my stains, tapes, urethanes, polycrylic, chalk paint, etc. etc. I am playing around with all of the products based on what materials and designs I am working with. Again, YOU ROCK! :) My 6 year-old daughter is also enjoying your videos, as she is riding along with me on this journey - my little sidekick.

      Tell your daughter I said hello and happy crafting with momma! You're so lucky! Home Depot's in a lot of states and cities aren't carrying the rounds right now. They're like gold. I love that you're willing to play around with a little bit of everything because Amanda, that's the only way you will learn is through trial and error. Because what may work for me, might not work for you. Happy crafting my friend.

    Hey Sammie! Just a quick question - I'm using the 813 stencil film to create signs but am having MAJOR issues with it bubbling up and cutting weird... do you have any problems with that or do you have any recommendations for a fix or alternate stencil film/mylar? Thanks! Carole

    • @UnicornDustDesigns
      @UnicornDustDesigns  3 роки тому

      Hi Carole! So a couple things could be happening:
      1. Your cut depth is too much
      2. The roll you purchased isn’t on a cardboard roll which sometimes makes it umm I don’t know how to explain. I had this issue when I first started using it. I just unrolled the entire thing and let it loosen up and it worked fine.
      Now I buy the huge roll that comes on its manufactured roll.
      I hope this helps.

    • @UnicornDustDesigns

      Karla, for this sign I am making it reversible so I didn’t put any sealant on the back before starting like I usually wood. If you watch my Q&A wood sign video I go into more depth about why I clear the back first 😊

    How do you take care of your brushes? Specially the one for the minwax? Mine got hard as a rock even after i thought i cleaned it lol

      Hello. 👋 I do not use brushes to apply my stain. I use the microfiber clothes. Since the stain is oil based you would need paint thinner to clean the brushes off.

    Another pretty round! Your tutorials are the best! I have a question about the Merry Christmas SVG. What makes you the owner of this SVG? Is it because you purchased a particular font that has a commercial use? I'm just confused as to what makes a person the owner of the different phrases & whatnot that are put onto rounds, signs, whatever. So I wondering too, if there is a particular phrase, wording that I like, can I make it mine if I use a different font & not worry about "stealing" from someone else? I hope this makes sense. Thanks!

    • @UnicornDustDesigns
      @UnicornDustDesigns  3 роки тому +1

      Hello Angela. There is not owner of this. I simply used a font .. probably from DaFont.com - don’t remember 😬 and typed out Merry Christmas. Now someone from DaFont - since the text was for free will state of you can use the font absolutely free or if it’s personal use or if you need to buy the commercial license for it. If you can recreate a design and make it your own then you aren’t “stealing” an artists image. Is any of this making sense. Feel free to messsge me on IG

    • @0711dogs

      Unicorn Dust Designs I think I understand. If I use a free font or purchase that has a commercial license I am ok…even if it’s wording someone else has used…I just need to use my font…don’t ring the doorbell dogs will bark blah blah blah. If I read correctly, Cricut allows use of their images to make things for sell, just can’t sell as SVG. Correct? I really appreciate your help. If you would like to IM that’s fine or email angelarn59@gmail.com. Thanks

    Sorry if this seems dumb (I am a total newb): There are different versions of the brand e6000 "glue." Which type do you use? I am thinking for attaching bows & greenery (plus hot glue gun).

    I see some that are much thinner but they look cheap to me what is the best wood and thickness in your opinion?

    • @UnicornDustDesigns
      @UnicornDustDesigns  3 роки тому +1

      Hello Norine. The thin ones are either basswood or plywood. I prefer the 1”+ thickness. Especially if I’m charging $45-$60 for the rounds. The thinner ones can look beautiful too you would just have to price them lower.

    My Lowe’s in West Tennessee doesn’t have any but I check the other stores close by which can be located in another city or state. I can change my store on my app and order. I have done that and it works great. Hobby Lobby has a 12 inch wood round that I do like and the regular price is $9.99 but use the 40% online/store coupon. I am working with it now and I will post the finished 2 sided sign soon.
    I have a few small 1/8 and 1/4 thick panel rounds. It just popped in my head that we can take them and glue the together but what is the best adhesive? Wood glue or E-6000?

    • @UnicornDustDesigns
      @UnicornDustDesigns  3 роки тому +1

      Both are great glues Shelly. You could use both to add even more of an hold on them. The wood rounds at my hobby lobby are $19.99 so with a 40% coupon it’s still super pricey. Luckily I have three on hand 🖐

      Unicorn Dust Designs I looked online and the 12” inch rounds were $9.99 then you can use the coupon. I didn’t see any other sizes but like all other stores different merchandise are available.

    Oh Sammie my Sammie... You ready?
    The felt flowers. First of all, you can’t be mad you make quality items! 😂
    Secondly, you applied it with a hot glue gun. How does that glue become pliable? Heat!
    Next time use a heat gun to warm the glue up to take off what you don’t need. I typically will use spare scrap felt to wipe off glue that’s stuck to the wood, and if it’s sanded first, which this was, should wipe off smoothly! 🙃 You’re welcome!! 😂

      & With the tape. A cheaper option for the different sizes is washi tape! Hobby lobby constantly has a 50% off sale on “The Paper Studios” constantly making each roll of tape extremely affordable!
      & dollar tree also has that same size tape in a 3 pack.

    • @donnaleesoucy
      @donnaleesoucy 3 роки тому +1

      Unicorn Dust Designs I personally spray a thin layer of Krylon clear in matte after tape. So you got me on a idk if you don’t put that layer.
      I did the washi bc of the bullet journaling I watch. A lot of those girls will Edge their water color paintings with it & it does good.
      Another thing I’ve done for different sized lines was put painters tape on a smooth card stock and cut it with my paper cutter. Then took the tape off and used it that way.
      I just know how expensive automotive tape can get since, in my household, there’s also customized cars and motorcycles. 🤣

    I know I've asked you a million questions, but I just need answers from an expert! If my husband and I clear coat signs, and we want to ship them together, will the clear coat cause them to stick together? Do they need to cure before we ship them for a specific amount of time so they're not "sticky"? How do you ship your signs? Apologies for asking SO MANY QUESTIONS!

    • @UnicornDustDesigns
