Add the MSD 6A for timing control. The 6AL gives a rev limiter, but I think that’s available on the Atomic so not worth spending the extra money on the 6AL versus 6A. You can still use the HEI distributor if that’s what you’re using, and manually phase the distributor. I just made a lockout for the mechanical and made another plate for the vacuum advance. I used that to help phase the distributor.
Thanks i appreciate the comment. Funny because my cousin was talking about this a few months ago. The car is currently at the paint shop. But I can’t to get it home to get it running
I’m not sure yet. I installed the system last year it was still warm, and the car been at the paint shop since April 1 2022. Also it’s some more tuning that needs to be done. Hopefully I’ll be able to let you know more soon

My honest opinion: if it’s running good and you’re not having any issues with the carb I’ll keep the carb. I had a old carb that needed rebuilding on the car and it ran. With the EFI system I need to do some tuning and playing around with it to get it to work better, but the car at the paint shop now so I haven’t been able to play around with it lately.
@@jaycutlass1269 well I thought about rebuilding the 350 i got on there now or just purchasing a crate turnkey and install a EFI on it. But you’re right though if the carburetor is working for me I should just stick with it.
@@armygreenfj3924 I wish I did the car ran well burned rubber. Now I have more things to monitor and learn like AFRs, Monitor fuel pressure, O2 sensors with the carb was much easier to maintain. I’m running the Atomic on my 79 K5. I did a new top end and very mild cam. It’s one of the best decisions I made. I initially ran the carb - hated it. Hard starts, off-road / off camber just sucked. I put on the 87 TBI system and ran that for about 5 years. It’s under powered but it worked ok. I did the Atomic and really like it. If you have the money and you have to be smog compliant, no question, run it. I just added the MSD 6a for timing control to it today and made it even better. I’m using the stock HEI distributor with the mechanical and vacuum advance locked down. My Atomic had bad wire connections for the mag pickup. I had to redo that and it idles so much better. What the what!? I was told it has an internal regulator built into the fuel injection system?
The Holly Sniper has an internal regulator, the MSD regulator is external.
Nice work,,,, how did you make kick panel speakers fit around emergency break? I have a 1971 Cutlass. Speakers stick out to far.
