  • In this video, we go over and test all the parts needed to run dual tanks with an LS Swap. ‪@SummitRacing‬ supplies the fuel tanks and the ‪@tanksinc.8344‬ push lok -6 AN Fuel system with Corvette regulators. ‪@hotrodfuelhose837‬ provides the dual sending units as well as the Walbro 255LPH high pressure pumps. We still needed additional fittings to make all the connections. Once installed, we test both the float signals and our completed fuel system's pressure. #Chevy #gmc #truck #squarebody #c10 #restomod #LS #lsswap #tci #build #engine #trucks #greasemonkeytv #4link #fuel #summitracing #hotrodfuelhose #tanksinc #-an

    Great video! Lots of helpful information. I have a 75 stepside with dual tanks I'm looking to swap to fuel injection. Originally I was going to go with a single Boyd tank, but now I've reconsidered.

    I dont know if i likebthe pumps running the whole time. Usually they kick on, build preasure and kick off. Im planning on rumming a holly terminator. I wonder if it has a option to continuously run the fuel pumps,or of they auto shut off

    The selector valve. Where do those wires go. I’m trying to redo mine with new wires. The two plugs on the tanks maybe?

    • @GreaseMonkeyTV
      @GreaseMonkeyTV  4 місяці тому

      Pretty difficult question. The wires go from the switch, to the valve, to both tanks for fuel level sender info & to the fuel gauge plus power and ground connections.

    Man this video rocks. I wish you would review the transfer valve a bit more. I have an 87 that im starting to do this on. I have all the parts you showed minus the wiring harness. I have 2 new dorman tanks as well as 2 tanks inc tanks in my garage. Gotta figure out which tanks to use and return the other tanks. I want to keep the valve switch so i can go between both tanks. I didnt see any fuel lines going to the transfer valve. Any insight on how you plummed the transfer valve would be stellar.

      My fuel system doesn’t flow through the valve. It’s designed for TBI pressure not LS 60lb pressure. In my application, the valve just switches on the correct pump and reads the correct fuel level.

    I seen holley offered a 12-378 part number which is a oem style electric fuel pump which does everything for you. Even preset to run a certain amount of pressure. Think he said 58psi. I want to run this on a carb so ill just buy a regulator to turn the fuel pressure down to 6-8psi

    Wouldn’t the check valves do a better job on the outlet side of the fuel filter as to preventing back flow pressure on the outlet side of that fuel filter/ regulator?

  • @GreatLakesLogger

    So the harness you bought from the fellow on Facebook just runs from the pumps to the '87 selector valve, then from the selector valve to the switch. The selector valve is only used to control the electrical part of the fuel system and has nothing to do with routing fuel. Is that correct? So if i still have the original harness in the truck, i shouldn't need to buy that one correct?

    • @GreaseMonkeyTV

    I have an 1987 gmc dual tank with ls swap. the gas gauge works fine for the drivers side. when you flip the switch for the pass side tank it always reads full. would missing ground wire ore B+ cause it to read full? I would imagine the gas gauge would always fail to empty.
