  • Well I feel like I was called out by not using a stock T in Episode 67 by @Flivverchannel. So I dug out my all original stock T and ran the Qtr (1320 feet) again.
    Now its back to the drawing board as my modified T is only 2 seconds faster than Henry's version. GO FIGURE!

    So doing a little math here, If you had done a flying start 1/4 mile in 30 seconds, that would been an average speed of 30 mph. With a standing start and time just under 30 seconds, your "trap" speed would be somewhere around 32 -35 mph. Not too shabby for an unrestored, 110 year old car that had a claimed top speed around 40 mph when new! BTW... Love your Ford's Garage shirt. I drive a Model T at Greenfield Village a few miles away. People LOVE that ride!

    I first found your channel by accident, and watched your Oldsmobile Curved Dash video, great car too! ... now I've done a collab with @FlivverChannel, I'm going to have to do a Quarter Mile Drag in my own Model T now 😂 ... that's 403 metres for me 😆 your 1913 looks great! But I'm wondering why you didn't just apply the parking brake to stop that back wheel spinning when you started it... that's what I do with mine 😊

      Gday Mitch. Brake was on. That car will flat run over you. Motor has never been gone through nor rear axle. It’s a great survivor. Saw you on Flivver. Also watched your sis drive. Good one.
      Been down under in 2018. Sydney Brisbane Newcastle coolum beach. Irwin zoo. Allora on the downs and Texas for a T rally. Meet some great T people. Hosted by the Partington family.
      Your country is beautiful. Will be back. Episode 11. Shows my Aussie friends. It’s a small world.
      By the way the Model T is still doing what it was designed to do. Take you to new places and meet people you otherwise wouldn’t have.

    I use a wireless winch instead of unpaid volunteers.
    It's an ATV winch (2500lb) & i built a "travel bag", for it, that has a small battery plus tie down chains, so it can go anywhere. Works great for motorcycles (with a good strap on the remote) because I can winch them while sitting on them ('cause bikes only have 2 wheels).

    Not super familiar with a T. Does the rear wheel spin because the gear oil is cold? Does it eventually stop as oil heats up? Did '14's come with electric lights? What tire pressure does a T need? I've read 60 psi? Neat old car.

    • @KlepsGarage
      @KlepsGarage  11 місяців тому +1

      Questions questions question a T does not have a positive neutral it has a multiple disc high-speed clutch that likes to grab. Also why it is hard to push a T. Motor acts like a brake. I run 40 to 50 in tires
      The original owner changed a lot of things on this car ie headlights. It has been driven to CA an Fl from Ohio. Back in th 1920s. By org. Owner. I have this car documented back to org owner.

    • @brianmatthews9697
      @brianmatthews9697 11 місяців тому +1

      @@KlepsGarage Thanks Bruce, I knew about the clutch, but didn't realize that's why it would grab. Wondered about the tire pressure. I knew they were higher than an A. I always like the "NO SKID" tire tread pattern. I've seen many early T's with the electric lights. Many were done years ago like you say. That is a great T, looks right. Thanks for the answers, really enjoy your channel. Be well, Brian
