If I was an actor, I would be so proud to have the very first aired episode of the Waltons series on my resume. Her role was especially powerful and I have never forgotten Charlotte's character. A sign of excellent writing and superb acting. Thank you so much Charlotte for visiting this channel as us viewers consider you an extended family member.
One of Charlotte Stewart's boyfriends who she talks about in her book was Jim Morrison of The Doors. He was about as far removed from "The Waltons" and "Little House on the Prairie" as anyone I can imagine!
Oh my! Charlotte's presence on LHOP brightened the show so much! I so loved the episodes in which she was featured as the main subject. She played her part well and made me believe she WAS Miss Beadle. She was such a warm, caring character. I just wish she'd been on more and for a longer period of time.
I like your interview style - you let your guests speak without interrupting. And you have a very calm demeanor. On an aside note: I bought and read Charlotte’s book about a year ago, it was a good read.
Yes, I feel the same, probably tons of us do here... Judy Norton's journalistic style is what makes these segments so peaceful and exciting at the same time. She gives ample time and space for guests to talk about their lives and how they intersected with their time on the Waltons. Funny thing is Mary Ellen is a lot more feisty, and Judy Norton is a lot more laid back. The tempo of Judy's videos is so enjoyable. I can listen to her show and be doing something else (that isn't too distracting that is) - like a good song playing 😊
Hello Judy from South Carolina, you are looking lovely as usual, honey I enjoy the stories and your soothing voice please continue to bring them to us .
Oh my goodness how I love Charlotte in everything she does . Wonderful actress who always steals every scene she is in. Thank you Judy and Charlotte ♥️
What a lovely treat to have Charlotte Stewart speaking. I must admit, as soon as I saw you were speaking to Ms Stewart, the first thing I thought of was Miss Beadle. She has certainly had quite the career
"Miss Beadle" bouncing between Eraserhead and The Waltons. LOL. Interesting. Terrific interview. What a delightful person she is. Loved the jacket story too. Never occurred to me that some studios might have actors in current-day stories provide their own costume.
loved that episode of the Waltons. loved how after they learned the little girl was deaf that they had to learn how to communicate with her. it was Johnboy after seeing the girl leave the room while everybody was laughing at the radio figured out she was sad and he got her to use sign language the first time and the rest of the family followed his lead. loved Charlotte on Little House. it was a sad episode when she left. it was after Mary went blind and then everybody moved to the city.
One of the things I love best about the entire Waltons cast is there isn't any back stabbing. No tell alls, that is so rare these days. Kudos to you all
I loved Charlotte as Miss Beadle and her appearance on the Waltons. I was surprised that was her in an old Elvis movie as a carhop. She was very funny even if her part was a small one.
Wow Judy!! You are Amazing!! Thank you Charlotte for taking the time out of your busy schedule you are looking wonderful!! I loved the episode the Foundling it not only gave us a glimpse of the love the Walton's have for each other but the strong love and bond of a Mother's love for her child and the fact that she knows her child better than anyone. The father does not even try to listen to what she is trying to tell him. We see later how incredibly bright she really is. Thank you so MUCH both of you what a great way to start the weekend!! 🥰
Wow I didn't realize she was in or worked on Eraserhead !..That was a real macabre film . .but I didn't realize she was in that . . another eye opening segment. Thanks for having her on, I loved her as Miss Beadle. Thanks Charlotte and thanks Judy !
I remember reading "The Homecoming" as a young girl, so when the movie came out, of course I had to watch it. It was spectacular. I also watched "The Waltons", what wonderful memories .🥰♥️
Thank you Judy for what you do on these videos. It’s awesome that you take your time to keep us all updated on everyone’s whereabouts and what it was like years ago to do the show and get everyone’s aspect of the shows back then.
Charolette is such a huge part of my childhood. We all wished we had such a loving and caring teacher such as Miss. Beadle. She was beautiful then and beautiful now.
Hi Ms Charlotte, Thanks for sharing with Judy about how you gotten your part on Waltons.I loved your role.I also loved your role in Miss Beetle on Little House on the prairie.
Thanks for joining us. Her book is heartfelt, sincere, racy, honest - she has lived quite a life. By her own admission made a lot of mistakes but she has persevered. It’s a good, fun read and evokes that period in Hollywood. Clearly a bit of a wild time.
My mom and I watched the first aired episode together all those years ago. When it ended, we looked at each other and said, "That's a really good show!" And we were hooked from then on. We lost Mom in 2018. This is one of many treasured memories.
I'm sorry you lost your Mom, Nancy. I used to watch great shows on TV with my sister Susan. And I remember all of those shows like it was yesterday. After Susan died in 2011, every show we watched together would bring me back to those special moments we shared, both enjoying shows we liked or loved. I wish I could've watched The Waltons with my sister. She would've loved it as much as we loved Little House when we were little. The Foundling was such a great opening episode - and many episodes thereafter just reinforced the quality and the impact of The Waltons.
@@nancymaxwell7212 Hi Nancy, I am so sorry about losing your Sister Susan. She must have been very young. It must've been excruciating for your Mom to lose a child. Your Mom had to be one strong woman. When my sister died during my Mom's long battle with Stroke complications, We didn't know how we were ever going to tell her that Susan died suddenly. Surely it broke my Mom's heart even more. Still, so many memorable times and even watching a simple yet deeply moving show like the Waltons made life shared with them so worthwhile. I really appreciated your post.
@@LisaLisa-2023 thank you. I appreciated your post too. Susie died from a fall from a 12 speed bike on her way to work. She was 21 and a new mother. Mom raised her son. As for Waltons, hubby and I purchased every season so that they're in our library.
@@nancymaxwell7212 Nancy, I've always believed that there is no greater Love than the one between Mother/Parent and child. For your courageous Mom to raise Susie's son during her own grieving journey only cements what I assumed (as a stranger looking in) that She is more than extraordinary. I don't know how she did it. Death of a loved one is painful enough, but somehow the suddenness of death (as in our sisters) seem so inexplicable. Thank you for your openness. Your post really helped me. I still think of my Mom and sister Susan so much of the time. And it really helps to know and hear about other families who face these realities and how they've coped and surmounted. ❤💛🧡
Thank you for interviewing Charlotte Stewart. I loved Miss Beadle. She was so sweet, every kid's dream teacher. I read biographies by several of the Little House on the Prairie actors, but not her's.

Thank you so much, Judy, for bringing on Charlotte and for her visiting your UA-cam channel. Thank you as we viewers consider you an extended family member. Thank you, Judy and Charlotte ❤️
Wow who knew Charlotte was Miss Beatle. Just goes to show how how great Behind the scenes is. You get to see these actors whom you haven't seen in years and find out who they really are and the different shows they acted in. It's all so relatable. Charlotte was on more Little House episodes than Walton's so I relate better with that show. Now when I see The Foundling I can say Miss Beatle. LOL Glad you had Charlotte on adn we were able to get to know a little more about her. Thank you
Me too! I had no idea Charlotte was Miss Beadle! And That Miss Beadle was the Mom on the Foundling! What a special treat and preview of a very versatile Charlotte Stewart. Her role on The Foundling was so moving, I watched it completely intrigued without breaking for a snack (btw I love nibbling on chocolate Bars Duane Barbic without guilt). Charlotte Stewart's gripping role showed such believable desperation of a Mother's love, just leaves you heartbroken and sympathetic to her plight. The little girl was exceptional too. That first show was overwhelming to say the least.
@@DaveD2488 LOL Duane Barbic ( a Judy Norton channel fan ) in a separate post was giving us a healthy tip to avoid/reduce eating chocolate candy bars. So I made a defiant reference to the tip and suggested that we all can nibble away at chocolate bars (only while watching our beloved Waltons and Judy's channel) but of course, in moderation. 😋
@@DaveD2488 Yes, Miss Beadle is unforgettable as Miss Beadle - I think it was the hairstyle, that made her look like a different person on The Foundling and her long run on Little House. I also Love Little House. As a little girl, and as an older adult, I still enjoy that show too. Michael Landon was undeniably talented in his craft. Episodes that move us to near tears or have us totally spellbound are in the HALL of FAME :*)
You are so good to us, Judy, to arrange such lovely interviews. I thought you were terrific, Ms Stewart, as the little girl's Mom, a backwoods wife during The Great Depression! Whoever decided to lead with that episode made a good choice! In the Great Depression many children were given to orphanages or sent to live with distant relatives or families who could feed and clothe little ones. It was especially tender John Boy's scene helping the little hearing impaired child make the connection between ideas and hand spelling! Ms Stewart, I love your work as Miss Beadle! You're a perfect and kind one-room schoolhouse teacher of that era. Believe it or not, I saw Eraserhead! A fellow I dated briefly and his friends were big fans and showed the film one evening. I also thought Twin Peaks was a stylish cutting-edge kind of series. There's no doubt Michael Landon was brilliant! It's so good of you, Ms Stewart to take the time to chat with us fans! I don't have FB. Perhaps you're on Instagram. It's great you sew everyday! Blessings to you both and Walton's and LHOP folks everywhere. ❤💐
What a delight. I remember seeing Charlotte in several shows, but aways remember her caring momma to a little deaf girl on the Waltons. I thought her so pretty no matter her role. Nice to see she still is 😊 Thank you to you both.
Great interview! I remember my Son was a fan of Little House and when the movie Tremors came out the first thing he said when he saw Charlotte's character was " one of those giant worms better not eat Miss Beadle " I didn't know that was not the first choice for the premiere episode of The Waltons either!
I watched both shows with my parents. We had a black and white floor model. I was of course laying on the floor since being the child I was the remote and had to work the rabbit ears. Miss, Beetle was so much like my 3rd grade teacher. Both shows take me back to that family time. I lost my dad at 10, so my family still watched both with tears in our eyes, but it still makes me feel like he was there. My granddaughter is now reading the Laura Ingalls Wilder series, so I am passing down the love. We will start watching both shows after she finishes reading the series. My granddaughter will have the same joy I felt.
This is such a powerful episode. It shows that no matter what the situation people can learn and if you give a child the right tools they can become anything. The little deaf girl was the only one who knew where Elizabeth was and she was in troubled. Her dad just ignored her but when the Walton’s found her they asked where Elizabeth was and she just signed where she was her dad was so surprised when they found her Don’t ever underestimate a child take time to listen to them you might learn something too
Man, this is the beginning, where it all began; amazing episode where you see how everyone is growing into their characters and viewers could see subtle changes in the all of characters after several episodes. By episode 6, "The Star", the cast were comfortable with their roles and their tv personalities started to emerge.
Two of the best family shows that my family and I can watch together. It's great to hear the actors who are still with us get to talk about it. Mrs Stewart is still Miss Beatle too me....typecast in my mind, I've seen her in alot of the shows she has been in and she is great in all them but she is Miss Beatle. I really enjoy these.
It was nice seeing Charlotte. I Often wondered about her and other actors from my favorite shows. I spent more time than I should’ve in front of the TV growing up. I just found it all fascinating. My parents said as a baby they could put me in front of the television and never hear a sound from me. I’d just sit there watching Big Bird and cartoons. I even liked the game shows. Television these days is a mine field of what doesn’t interest me, lol. So I often go back to my youthful days to rewatch TV programs that mean so much more to me than just entertainment. These shows like the Waltons, Little House, All in the Family, Star Trek, The Incredible Hulk…etc, shows with heart essentially, formed my psyche, educated me about humanity, right and wrong, good and bad, I wouldn’t have chosen a better decade to be introduced to television than the 70’s. The shows, the actors are like my extended family and when one passes on, it hurts like hell. But then I remember, they left behind a legacy that we can continue to enjoy in their absence so they never really vanish from the world. They’re still here talking to new generations and are as alive to them as they still are to me. These Videos you do, Judy, give us a kind of intimacy of meeting each other that only the internet could give. That’s the one good thing about it. Television brought us together, but the internet brings us to the tables of our homes and we get the chance to do these back and forth conversations. I wish more actors would reach out to their fans in this way. It’s a special medium that needs more positive usage in my opinion. Anyway, I need to get some lunch. I like that painting of the flower behind you, btw. I do landscape paintings myself.
Thank you for having her on; much appreciated! Perhaps you could get some others like Sian Barbara Allen, Pippa Scott plus more while they’re still around. Again, thank you for your channel; I love it. God bless you and your family…….🌝
I agree with you. So thankful that Judy is taking this opportunity to share these interviews, behind the scenes, or about each show. What a great way to preserve "The Walton's". Thank you Judy.
Charlotte is absolutely delightful, I didn't want the interview to end. What an awesome idea of a Beatle Bag, I love things like that! I have never seen the 1st season of the Waltons, so I didnt know she had been on, it looks like a great episode. Thank you, Judy, what a nice visit! 😊
I find it amazing how just changing ones hair makes you look totally different. I had no idea that was our favorite miss Beatle ( no idea if I spelt that right LOL).
What a lovely woman! I haven't seen any of her other work, except Little House and I haven't watched that in so many years. (I haven't rewatched it multiple, multiple times like I have The Waltons!) But no matter - it was so fun just listening to the two of you have a conversation...both of you obviously enjoying catching up and making plans to stay in touch! And with all that she has done in her career, here is another actress who has such fond memories of her guest spot on The Waltons. I have said this before, but it is always heartwarming to have people realize the impact of The Waltons, on their lives and in the industry. Thanks, Judy, for a great "chat" shared with us!
I actually got to see you both in Lincoln, IL! I attended the breakfast where you all spoke and it was wonderful! Thanks so much for all you do to stay engaged with the fans! It's truly appreciated🥰
Sheila, I’ve heard slight mention of this IL gathering in the past. Would you mind saying more about what, where & when it was and how you learned of it? (Also, if anyone knows the first Waltons episode of the series that was filmed, not aired first, I’d appreciate knowing more about that, too.) I’ve only seen a few brief scenes of Little House. But I’m impressed with Ms Stewart’s work history & enjoyed another “welcoming” conversation. Thank you, all!
Judy, thank you so much for your interviews and shows! I loved seeing Charlotte and hearing about her experiences! I'm realizing that an actors life is really not always so glamorous. It's hard hard work! Bless you for all you've done and all these wonderful faithful actors. It means so much to us. I LOVE your hair/color on this segment. So pretty! Til next time, Rosemary
Hi Judy! I really loved this interview so much! I absolutely love The Foundling episode ❤ literally yesterday, I was just looking back on this episode and watched a video I filmed of the ending scene where everyone was in the living room after Elizabeth was saved from the box. Thank you Charlotte for talking with us and thank you Judy for having her come on your channel! And I hope you are having an amazing day ❤ Love, Jamie ~ huge Waltons fan ✨
Oh my goodness! An interview with Charlotte Stewart, one of my favorites and I've read her book. Of course, I remember her most from Little House as Miss Beadle. I feel the two best family shows ever are "The Waltons" and "Little House on the Prairie" I watch these episodes over and over again. I like simpler times, though they weren't really simple, a lot of hard times and hardships in these eras. But simple, in the fact as family and community are important and neighbors helped neighbors in both of these shows. That's why I love these shows. Thanks for another great interview, Judy!
Thank you so much for doing these interviews with actors that I grew up watching on tv. Only 3 networks in those days, and reruns during the summer, so we pretty much saw just about everything. I remember Charlotte's sweet face from lots of shows.
The first time I saw Charlotte was on the original Hawaii 5-0. The episode was called "And They Painted Daisies On His Coffin". She is very talented. She had me glued to my set. I always hoped to see her again. Then I saw her on The Waltons. I've never seen Little House On The Prairie. She's a lovely, dignified lady. Thanks for this, Judy. It's nice to see some of the guest stars from The Waltons.
Charlotte Stewart will be remembered most for being a teacher on Little House Miss Beatle I have them all for now and I love her for that . she was fantastic in this episode she played it to the max. I never saw Eraserhead. Your role as Mary Ellen was written so well except maybe the confusion of Curt dead Curt alive episodes but you did them masterfully
Oh my goodness this brighten my night seeing this episode. She is still beautiful and it was great to learn she was once married to TIM CONSIDINE. THANKS TO BOTH OF YOU. HI FROM LUTZ FLORIDA USA
Hi Judy and Ms. Charlotte. I loved the "girl talk ." Some of the stories were funny. Who doesn't love to laugh? Charlotte Stewart has had quite an awesome career. I will certainly be sure to pick up a copy of her book. Miss Beatle is definitely one of my favorite tv teachers. Michael Landon gave everyone an opportunity to be a part of those "tear jerking" moments. He was great and he is also missed. Thank you Judy for yet another lovely surprise. 😊
Enjoyed The Foundling episode. Charlotte did great in that role also played a great role in Little House as Miss Beadle. The Walton's and Little House will always be part of my life and millions of other fans!!!
I grew up in the UK watching the Waltons and Little House On The Prairie, what I loved most about the two programs is they both stood for family values and principles, and Judy you have changed a bit.❤️🇺🇸🇬🇧
If I had to, I couldn't choose between the shows for their family content & how uplifting the messages each show gave us each week! Couldn't even begin to think of choosing between Michael or Ralph as fathers... Far too hard to do truly!
Always great that you are able to bring guests to your show , best of both worlds The Waltons & Little House On The Prairie, great too see Charlotte after all these years !
She’s such a wonderful person! What a career she’s had. I’m learning so much about actors in general. They are regular people doing what they love to do as a career. Thanks Judy. Mary

Charlotte Stewart's gripping role showed such believable desperation of a Mother's love, just leaves you heartbroken and sympathetic to her plight. The little girl was exceptional too. That first show was overwhelming to say the least.
So glad these have been enlightening.
@@LisaLisa-2023 😂😂😂Never heard of that chocolate car.
@@DaveD2488 LOL Duane Barbic ( a Judy Norton channel fan ) in a separate post was giving us a healthy tip to avoid/reduce eating chocolate candy bars. So I made a defiant reference to the tip and suggested that we all can
nibble away at chocolate bars (only while watching our beloved Waltons and Judy's channel) but of course, in moderation.
Thx for sharing Judy. ❤
Thanks for watching!
Charlotte was a sweetheart Judy and of course so are you 💐Loved the interview ❤️
Thanks for joining us. :)
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Thank you Judy for all the interviews, behind the scenes, or about each show. What a great way to preserve "The Walton's".
Thanks for watching.
What a delight. I remember seeing Charlotte in several shows, but aways remember her caring momma to a little deaf girl on the Waltons. I thought her so pretty no matter her role. Nice to see she still is 😊 Thank you to you both.
Thanks for joining us.
Great interview! I remember my Son was a fan of Little House and when the movie Tremors came out the first thing he said when he saw Charlotte's character was " one of those giant worms better not eat Miss Beadle " I didn't know that was not the first choice for the premiere episode of The Waltons either!
Thanks for sharing :)
It was good to see her again. Thanks, Judy!
Our pleasure.
What a wonderful lady. Thank you Charlotte and thank you Miss Judy for having her. So cool 👍🏼😘
Thanks for joining us.
❤ awsome Judy
Thank you.
How sweet. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Judy and Charlotte! 😊 Glad to see you both.
Thanks for joining us.
This is such a powerful episode. It shows that no matter what the situation people can learn and if you give a child the right tools they can become anything. The little deaf girl was the only one who knew where Elizabeth was and she was in troubled. Her dad just ignored her but when the Walton’s found her they asked where Elizabeth was and she just signed where she was her dad was so surprised when they found her Don’t ever underestimate a child take time to listen to them you might learn something too
Well said.
Man, this is the beginning, where it all began; amazing episode where you see how everyone is growing into their characters and viewers could see subtle changes in the all of characters after several episodes. By episode 6, "The Star", the cast were comfortable with their roles and their tv personalities started to emerge.
Thanks for watching :)
So wonderful to see her...she looks great...Ms. Beetle❤
Thank you so much for watching and for sharing.
Glad you are enjoying these.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I find it amazing how just changing ones hair makes you look totally different. I had no idea that was our favorite miss Beatle ( no idea if I spelt that right LOL).
😊
Glad you enjoyed it.
I watch the Waltons with my mom when I was little and Little house on the Prarie. Now I am 61. I have every episodes of both Shows on DVD .
Awesome! Thanks.
Loved her as Ruth and loved her on Little House! Thank you again Judy!
Our pleasure.
Very nice to hear from charlotte. Always was a fan of little house on the prairie, but the waltons is my favorite.
Thank you.
OMG, what a wonderful and exciting life she's lead. She wrote an amazing book.
Yes. I’m currently listening to the audio version she narrates.
Another great post Judy! I had no idea Charlotte Stewart did all of those great shows. Love The Waltons and love Little House on the Prairie. ❤
😊
I actually got to see you both in Lincoln, IL! I attended the breakfast where you all spoke and it was wonderful! Thanks so much for all you do to stay engaged with the fans! It's truly appreciated🥰
Sheila, I’ve heard slight mention of this IL gathering in the past. Would you mind saying more about what, where & when it was and how you learned of it?
(Also, if anyone knows the first Waltons episode of the series that was filmed, not aired first, I’d appreciate knowing more about that, too.)
I’ve only seen a few brief scenes of Little House. But I’m impressed with Ms Stewart’s work history & enjoyed another “welcoming” conversation. Thank you, all!
The first one filmed was The Hunt.
So glad you were able to make it to Lincoln for our event.
@@judynorton2598Thank You! For “The Hunt”, 1st episode info
Wonderful actress !
Hi Judy I loved hearing about Charlotte Stewart and knowing that she was in the foundling an love her in little house on the prairie

Thanks for watching.
What a delight to have Charlotte Stewart on your channel❤. I loved her as Miss Beedle and also in The Foundling
Loved both shows.
So glad.
Thank you so much for joining us.
And I hope you are having an amazing day ❤
Love,
Jamie ~ huge Waltons fan ✨
So glad you enjoyed this.
Loved this! Her book was fabulous by the way. 📚
Yes - I’m currently listening to the audio version which she narrates. So great to hear her tell the stories.
Well said.
💙🔥💙Thank You Charlotte and Judy! 🌹🌹
Thank you! Judy for having. Charlotte Stewart on! her character Miss Beatle is one of my favorite characters on Little House on the Prairie 😃
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much for doing these interviews with actors that I grew up watching on tv. Only 3 networks in those days, and reruns during the summer, so we pretty much saw just about everything. I remember Charlotte's sweet face from lots of shows.
She was a steady working actor besides her 4 years on Little House.
I never realized that the mother of the deaf child was the teacher on little house 😂 still learning new things
Glad it was helpful ;)
Another great interview Judy!
I love Charlotte Stewart in little house and she was great in the tv show Coach as Stewart’s mom. So much fun! 👍❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
So glad you enjoyed this.
Thank you very much.
Oh my goodness this brighten my night seeing this episode. She is still beautiful and it was great to learn she was once married to TIM CONSIDINE. THANKS TO BOTH OF YOU. HI FROM LUTZ FLORIDA USA
Glad you enjoyed our chat.
So glad you enjoyed this.
fantastic video judy and charlotte
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow great to see her love her
Glad you enjoyed this.
Enjoyed The Foundling episode. Charlotte did great in that role also played a great role in Little House as Miss Beadle. The Walton's and Little House will always be part of my life and millions of other fans!!!
Happy to hear that.
I grew up in the UK watching the Waltons and Little House On The Prairie, what I loved most about the two programs is they both stood for family values and principles, and Judy you have changed a bit.❤️🇺🇸🇬🇧
40 years will do that :)
If I had to, I couldn't choose between the shows for their family content & how uplifting the messages each show gave us each week! Couldn't even begin to think of choosing between Michael or Ralph as fathers... Far too hard to do truly!
Both great shows. I’m rather biased myself :)
Always great that you are able to bring guests to your show , best of both worlds The Waltons & Little House On The Prairie, great too see Charlotte after all these years !
So great of her to join me.
Very interesting video. Charlotte has lived quite a life.
Absolutely. Thanks for joining us.
Two show discussions in one!! Very spoilt today, thankyou x
She’s such a wonderful person! What a career she’s had. I’m learning so much about actors in general. They are regular people doing what they love to do as a career. Thanks Judy. Mary
Thank you, Mary.
Love your interviews Judy. Always anxious to see more. Love the Waltons. Still watching, so happy they keep coming back for us to enjoy.
So glad. Thank you.
