Great tips…doing my sub floor in MV1648 SC just as described. Many thanks!
I'm glad someone else thinks like me LOL!! I'm looking at doing a similar thing only my boat is a 15ft aluminum shallow V bottom with a 4.5ft beam. I'm gonna try multiple 1" vertical foam stringers to bring the bottom up to level, then cover with 1" pink foam for decking....might have to add doublers to the top of the foam stringers to support the foam deck. Finally, cover the 1" foam deck with Polywall...a similar FRP only thinner and lighter. Every thing glued together with Gorilla Glue Construction adhesive. All very similar to what you have done, Nice job!! Glad to see someone else understands about weight in a boat.
I’m gonna have to refer back to this video to see where to get that rubber roofing.
Great video, I think you’ll be good with that floor for as long as you have it.
Thanks a lot.
I guessed 100 lbs. lol. Got it! Thx. Great fro. Enjoyed watching. Watching from Ontario Canada
This looks great but are you not worried about structural loss the plywood provided?
Great idea. I dig it. Did you screw the bathroom material down to the sub floor bracing? If not, what would keep the foam from just floating up if you should take on water?
Great video man, never thought that ply would weigh that much!
It doesn't weigh that much when it's dry, this guy never coated it with epoxy or fiberglass resin so it soaked up water.
I was thinking of taking out the bench seats in my Jon sled that’s like this, then sheet aluminum riveted to the support beams. I don’t have the plug on those materials like you used. I can’t find rubber sheeting in stores for the life of me. Just small mats 😂
Camping world will have giant rolls. Also look on line for motorhome roofing. I like the sheet aluminum floors those are def forever
Hey man it's Todd 😁. Like your channel man. Big thumbs up.!!
that music though!!! ahahah
Hell yea great job and content. Much love to yall from Maryland❤❤❤
nice idea. I trying 4' boards vs plywood that can dry out after use.?
Do you think this floor plan is reasonable for a 17 whaler tri hull ? This seems to be more reasonable over cutting wood.
You’re a damn genius!
Thanks brotha. One thing I regret.. it's hot. When the sun is beating on it. It's well over 100 when it's 80 out
Killer plan .I'm doing the same except ...I'm gonna use TPO roofing .it's way tuffer than the rubber and won't heat shrink or bubble. Also gas won't kill it. It's just a superior product my dude .check it out 😉 you can customize it any way you want w a heat gun and roller and its white ! 🤔🫨 great video bruh.
anyone know if i could do this in a bass tracker 175 with a 50hp?
I'm trying to decide if I should go with pvc. I was told it would expand and contracrt too much. what is your take on it after this build?
Long as it's not too crazy tight of a fit. Iv had zero issues. Other than heat. When it's 90 outside the floor of the boat is 100
@@CAPTAINWILLY I'll be putting eva foam on the floor. thanks
Where do you get the role of rubber sheathing
Homedepot. Amazon. Camping world. Look for rubber roof membrane
This is a awesome ass video, already tried ply wood n its nasty when its old. But this is clean ass job bro keep up the great work.
Is this slippery to walk on when it’s wet?
Not at all.
Should have cleaned old paint off of it and repainted it before you started that project
How is it holding up ??????
The sealer I used on the sides. Garbage. But otherr than that still solid as hell. But my Dog dosnt like how hot it gets in the summer . Have to pour water in the boat every hour or so to keep thee floorr cool
What if rains big time ? Where’s the water going to go ?
We have had it out in total terential down pours many times. Water stays on top of the floor. Flows to the back and get pumped out with the bidge pump
😅ow yeah it’s fine 😅don’t bother looking under the carpet 😅used boat for sale
Up date how thus is holding up
Great. The tar on the sides was a mistake. But floor is rock soild still
Deadass in my head said 96lbs 😂
There is a reason boats are not built like this.
Great Ideas!!! any Tips on the final caulk you used, what kind- roof caulk?
This is gonna be a no from be dog, maybe for a small Jon boat but I'd never do this is any other boat I build.
3/4 plywood marine grade will last
3/4 plywood this boat would loose 3 Inches of freeboard. The whole point of this was for weight. Going on it's 3rd year amd has been outside this whole time. Still weighs the same as when I put it in.
@@CAPTAINWILLY Understood but anything less can be a problem with structural integrity. Many boats need 3/4 to "hold" together or the form will change or flex.
great idea! terrible music
Lol agreed
