Look at the small smile on Andy's face at the end of first demo ... he got something orgasmic there 😊 Man, i like each of your demos, sorry can't buy from you because i leave in France but you're truly inspiring for me 😉
After a couple different purchases and sales of various whammy products I got this pedal. It does everything you could want and takes way less space and costs a lot less!
that tone print feature is pretty awesome and definitely unique, but I already have a whammy and an original HOG...I can't justify buying this :/ dammit, Andy!
I've always used the Pitchfork, after trying the most popular competition, - Digitech Whammy-, and disliking the tracking, and knowing they had reliability issues.Liked the simplicity of the expression pedal control with the PF, but ,- have to admit, - some of the Toneprints are outstanding. With the proper print , the need for the on the fly control is minimalized . Def something to think about.
I have this pedal it's super cool pedal, great sounding one,the classic mode is killer the polyphony no words, still haven't digged into the Toneprint like my other Tc pedals like Hypergravity, corona, triple delay, alter ego .
I have the Pipeline, Viscous Vibes, Alter Ego and the SubNup. I have them for a couple of years and never really took the time to use the Toneprints. I do now and with 4 different TC pedals, using Toneprint, I can reach some crazy and unexpected sounds. Toneprint presets are perfect for lazy ass like me who are used to "plug and play" pedals 😂
Hey Andy, in the TonePrint application, can you set the Range of the Frequency like you can on another Octave Pedal (ie: the Brown Pedal)? Where you can set the top 3 strings to be Bass and the lower 3 to be guitar? Thanks!
I was gonna say "Get rid of those other effects so I can hear the octave pedal" until you said those effects are coming from the octave, and it blew my tiny little mind. This toneprint stuff is really clever.
These pedals should be priced based on a kit containing 1) the pedal, 2) Andy's video(s) 3) tabs of songs in video 4) suggested songs to explore on your own 5) bowl of PGS candy. (Ok %5 was a joke). I like how PGS believes in "If your customer is educated in why they want it - then they'll NEED it". Ha.
If you download a toneprint with some kind of modulation effect and turn of all the octave effects and only leave the dry, would this kinda work as a modulation pedal?
Does this work with line level via send/return. I need something to add a sub octave to vocals. Sold my MXR Pitch shifter, now it's too expensive to replace.
Anybody know if this will play nice with the Digitech drop? I tried using a Bose OC-3 to make a bass tone in tandem with the Digitech drop and the signal becomes mid when both pedals are on
best reviewer out there and he can play a really wide range of styles.Oh, and this pedal seems less glitch y and more solid than the rest . I use a ehx pitchfork but it has terrible hiss and whine issues, it is noisy.
Brian Smith can only save 1 TonePrint at a time with it and can only add the flanger or vibrato using the TonePrint editor or a TonePrint that already has it, I know there's one TonePrint that instead of the sub octave controls it replaces them with flanger speed and depth controls
Once I had the Boss MO2 for its special organ sounds with detune effect. I did not get further with this pedal as I couldn't reach a real nice clear sound despite the large panel of settings it features. Too much layers of sharp sounds eating the note and I got tired of what sounded more and more like a sonic soup (my way of playing? 😁😋) The Sub'n Up seems more attractive and musical and if it keeps the guitar sounding like a guitar, it's clearly not nauseous. May be one day...
Nice Demo !! Can u switch between the 3 modes on the fly without unplugging the power ?The reason I ask is I have a TC Flashback and it will not switch between the different modes on the fly. Is there any unwanted noise/hiss from the pedal when its turned off?
Hello, I would choose a Classic monophonic mode and just isolate the octave up signal. I'm not sure if there is a specific toneprint for Octavia but try searching the library. And yes, pairing with a low gain fuzz would get you closer. Thanks!
Hey Andy, I'm trying to decide between the Pog 2 and the Sub n Up. What's your take? Also, can you tell me a bit about that Redtail Tele? Wood? Pickups? She's a beaut!
I own a POG 2. It's fantastic, but after about two years things went tits up when all of a sudden preset switching started living its own life. Handed it over to a tech, but I think it's on its way to the graveyard. That's why I'm here. Tech says chances are there's no way a digital pedal like that can be fixed. Which is a hard thing to hear considering the price tag of the POG 2. It's a shame.
I would watch Andy demo a toaster oven. He'd probably also make the most amazing toast you ever saw, since the dude has mad skills.
69th like, finally
I genuinely just look up pedals to see how Andy uses them. Such an amazing player
Andy should get shares in every pedal company. He’d be a very rich man if he did.
Great demo, Andy! That Township Rebellion piece really took us back :)
right,no aimless blues/funk or shredding from Andy-just genres relevant to the effect...he's the best!
ll MB.
Paul Rudd is killer on guitar
What a phenomenal player Andy is. Also he is a walking juke box, which is I don't know. Obviously his life is 100% music.
Man, you can't play like that, it's illegal! Killer sounds and riff. You are an awesome player
gotta love The Rage against the machine......One of the best ever.
Clowns
I think I buy shit based on how much I like the first jam he plays....
Look at the small smile on Andy's face at the end of first demo ... he got something orgasmic there 😊

Damn. Sounds amazing and RATM vibe bought it for me.
Totally got me on that too.
Hate to throw rain, but that was probably the lamest 'riff' ever written. Not a brain cell was spared.
@@arbogash1852 must be a pretty good riff if it shredded your braincells out
It was easy. Only two bars of the riff and all cells were destroyed
I use this pedal live it adds a huge element with my 3 piece band. To fill lower end frequencies.
Incredible pedal and the price is an absolute no brainer definitely straight to the top of my pedal to get list
Andy makes you want to buy every pedal. He's just awesome!
man, the video is just perfect!
I mean the sound, the licks and the structure itself. Thank you!
Thanks, I had fun coming up with this intro medley! Andy
After a couple different purchases and sales of various whammy products I got this pedal. It does everything you could want and takes way less space and costs a lot less!
Can it make my guitar sound like a bass ??
This pedal is a cake taker. The TonePrint functionality really sets it apart from something like a POG or Whammy... Sold!
that tone print feature is pretty awesome and definitely unique, but I already have a whammy and an original HOG...I can't justify buying this :/ dammit, Andy!
The sub and up has great low end, but if you want octave up sounds, the ehx and digitech stuff sounds way way better and more natural
But that's it base sound. You can find a patch that fits you more or even make it yourself!
Agreed! I've been looking at the pog for bass, but this has a lot more functionality.

The riff starting at :40 is why im going to go buy this pedal
This is insane. Can't believe I've never seen this before. My EHX Pitchfork might just have to make way for this.
I was literally just jamming along with Township Rebellion about an hour ago :)
Can't not love andys playing!
Been looking for an octave pedal and this one never came up in any of my searches. Found it randomly! I think it's the one
Andy’s playing and reviews are always Right. On. The. Money.
Love this pedal,Sounds so funky...and great with ambient stuff!
That classic setting is special.
finally someone was able to catch up with the ehx micro pog
yep, andys style rocks! I just bought this pedal... LOVE IT !!! just love it! thanks for the review dude :)
been waiting for this one for a while! Thanks

Great demo! This is a sick pedal, I've been loving the way it sounds next to a Tonal Recall with my trombone.
3:26 man, that sounds good.
You're a great player and this pedal is sick AF!
I watch Andy to see what the possibilities are with gear and then I find the worst video to see how it will sound when I play
😄😂
This guys technique !! damn
0:41 killer riff!
PatFromHell hey what songs the riff from?! :)
@@SnipeFuzionzZ A bit late, but it's from Township Rebellion of RATM !

Conocen algún vídeo donde usen el sub n up con guitarra en un amplificador de bajo ?
I do believe this is the non distortion pedal I always wanted
1) How many Toneprint can you save on the Pedal ?

Love my Sub'N'Up! Awesome piece of gear! \m/
does anyone know if you can get an octave dive on this pedal (lonely boy black keys style) ? or is it set to be on/off?
PROOPPPPPA BO. Will be going on my new grime record i tell thee
The last setting is sick 👌👌👌

I got both
The MO-2 is cool in mode 3 and the stereo swirl is nice.
WHOO! Now get yourself a a booking in huge arena with a cupla 6X12 cabs!
Awesome demo. Thanks
Would the Tone Print function allow me to have a distorted octave setting right on the pedal?
RealSmoky yes there's a toneprint called octadrive, which adds gain as you turn up any of the octave controls.
hi is it better in the front or effects loop? if front before or after distortion thanks
Andy is such a sick player!!!
Plz tell me the song he plays at around 3:30 with the sub on, its so damn funky
I like this pedal a lot, but I have no portable digital devices like a cell phone, so I cannot use tone print. Would it be a waste?

That´s a great Demo Guys !
can polyphonic mode engage only lover strings as boss oc3 and oc5 does?
Mellowtron sound is siiiick
whats he playing on the eastwood archtop around 5 min in? really strange and interesting.
5:15 holy shit
I'm trying to think of what song that is
I'm getting this pedal.
The Classic mode also, Is Wow!!! 🦞
i want it more than ever !!😍
The pedal has such a fake synthetic sound but Andy is making it work
Hi Andy , is it possible to associate this pedal with a fuzz to recreate octavia sound from HENDRIX , and what setting do you advised ?

Sold! @ 3:30 Polyphonic Mode Sub Octave
Will this drop my tuning down to C standard?
what was the song when you did a demo of the melotron like sound?
How does the latency compare to the EHX Pitchfork?
Welp the tremolo sold me. Shoutout to tc for trying new things.
what brand is the tele style guitar he is playing the last few minutes of the video?
Trey Nabors Redtail
I'm looking into octavers for stoner/psychedelic style of music, for instance Wolfmother. What would be the best option?
What did u settle on?
So rad!
is there a tremolo effect in the pedal or is it used by a separate pedal in this demo?
Is on it, it's part of the toneprint, it's call octachop, you can control the speed with the sub2 knob
@@carloscenteno1451 I boguht the pedal and sold it cus I just ordered the TC Plethora X5, so I think I'm settled :) Thank you anyway!
hi!! Someone could tell me what guitar it´s the green one? Thnks!!
Nico Clement it's a Reverend Club King
Hi Andy are you using your index finger like a plectrum? sounds amazing!!
applicable for bass guitar?
Anyone know what kind of distortion pedal he's running at 0:46 ??
I don't remember, sorry! Most overdrive pedals will do that sound.
Andy
Hey, nice review, what toneprint are you using for the RATM sound?
Look directly at the pedal right now as playing... Then screenshot it. Zoom in and copy the knob positions. Then add an overdrive pedal.
Any chance this would still track with a bass??
It works great on a bass.
Anyone know the tune Andy plays for the "Broken Tron" setting?
KoolKatDave “Love is Blue” by Pat Mauriat 1968 instrumental version. “Heather” sings a lyrical version of this song, also in ‘68.
Is the overdrive before or after the octave in the classic mode part?
99% sure it's after
i like this. i like it a lot.
how does this sound on a bass?
