- SCP-131 is a Safe Class anomaly also known as The Eye Pods.
SCP 131 may not look like it, but it just may be one of the most powerful anomalies in SCP Foundation containment. At least when it comes to their incredible ability to contain other, much more scary and dangerous anomalies. Affectionately nicknamed the Eye Pods by personnel, SCP131 are teardrop shaped creatures that have one single blue eye.

If you really can't do anything because you're trapped in a corner, your best bet is stalling it as long as you can until the MTFs recapture it.

If anyone is having doubts, no, eye contact isn't actually what prevents 689 from going wild, unlike with The Statue.
*Attention* is what 689 requires to be contained; it's all about the *intention* with it, which means that you're free to blink, rub your eyes, or even twist your head, so long as what's in your mind is the act of contemplating the tiny idol.
This also means, that even if you literally have 689 squished between your grasp and eyes, if you're not actually *caring* about the act of contemplating it, or say, someone calls you and you attend to their words, the anomaly is already loose.

One question:…why would they store those two DEADLY scps in the same site
Well, it's too hard to move them now that they're in there.
multiple reasons but primarily thier containment measures are similar and site 19 happens to be the biggest Foundation location with access to the most equipment. there is most definitely many more deadly SCPs at site 19. SCP 682 (the hard to destroy reptile) for example is, from what i understand, "contained" in site 19 as well.
Ultimately the best way to contain most deadly SCPs capable of often containment breaches is to throw more bodies at it than it can handle and site 19 has enough personal to do just that.

"Safe" Classification is for how easy it is to contain an SCP. Does not mean they are /safe/ . There are "Safe" SCPs out there. If they got out into the wrong hands. They could destroy the planet.
Though they are in such secure areas within the Foundation and the ease of containing them is still so minimal. It is classed as "Safe". I mean if a Pen and Notebook that can kill anyone just by writing their name in it can be defeated by putting it in a lockbox in Site 15 and putting standard security around it. That pen and notebook are contained and called as "Safe".
Or you have a broadcast of a creepy Clown trying to teach children how to commit acts against humanity. And to contain it is to just keep broadcasting the show in a control broadcast location with a TV as output. It is contained and 'Safe'.

The qualification is not based on overal power, but on how much resources is used to contain then if they try to escape, Safe classes usually require few to none resources to do so, since some like the eyepods would simply obey you and go back on their own will
Strength is just perception. An SCP that boils water and nothing else could kick the collective asses of most living SCP.

I think the foundation needs to make a classification for anomalies that are genuinely helpful to them, 131 and 999 have put themselves at risk to save lives and I think they should be recognized for their heroics.

Why does the scp foundation keep powerful scp together if a containment breach happens all hell's gonna break loose
they don't have too much resourses to keep EVERY dangerous anomaly separated from each other
like we have about 6000 scps
and i think keeping all scps that depend on direct observation in one site is pretty smart

For the same reason you put all the most dangerous criminals in a single Supermax prison. Because it's easier to contain if they're all in one place.
Yea but many people believe that 096 and 173 are in the same site. But they aren't. Wait, I wasn't supposed to tell that. Oh god....
1. If they're all in one place you can more easily coordinate the needed resources and set up perimeters to contain revelant SCPs.
2. Scattering them across the globe makes it far more likely they can escape to somewhere where they might be discovered.
3. Many dangerous SCPs aren't mobile.
If this combo is bad imagine if 173 and 096 got loose in the same facility haha
That isn't going to be much of a problem. So long as all staff look at on 173 and not 096 till someone comes from behind 096 and puts a bag on its head.

Edit: I guess I should clarify, I mean that they don't have some sort of specialised harness for transporting 173, I imagine they just plonked him on a pallet and strapped him down
Well it is made of concrete and rebar so the forklift would be necessary regardless, short of moving it with another scp.
