To have grown up on, and with Elvis, was absolutely amazing, but I still could not grasp his greatness while he was alive. I loved him, admired him, loved his talent and his generosity, but still could not truly appreciate the beautiful soul he possessed. He was next to the greatest being ever to exist, and I lived it in real time, along with him, his family, and in his living state of being. How could anyone not love such a kind person! R.I.P. agreed , but i think its still parker we can blame that he didn't elvis really wanted to go and should have , who else really was there that stopped him going ?!! parker dictated everything to elvis held contracts over him threatened if elvis didn't he would have to in the end cos as when elvis sacked him Parker told him he owed him $2Mil. elvis knew he couldn't get out of it he couldn't afford to pay parker off ,so had to knuckle down and accept he would never tour the world

@@gassbaggerwoods5955 yes that was terrible that never should have happened there was way too much control being exerted on Parker’s part and there is no excuse for that. sometimes I wonder if elvis put the nails in the lid of his career coffin when he first agreed to sign with Parker and leave Sam Phillips instead of letting his career unfold in a more natural and local way like what his mom would have wanted - elvis was after the big money as much as Parker was and Elvis learned too late that this was a mistake I would have made the same mistake of wanting too much too soon and of signing with someone who falsely promised it seems like a understandable mistake to make in that situation
Love this...and we get the true sense of who Elvis was by those so close to hm..there has never been another like him and there never will be.

Priscilla is a fake in my opinion. If she knew Elvis as much as she pretends to have done, then she would have stayed with him and not had the affairs with other men while married to him, or not married him at all! She was with a man for twenty two years and yet she knew nothing about him, not even his real name.
This is a money grab! Perhaps you should of had Linda or ginger here for this interview, after all ginger was engaged to Elvis at the time of his death, she could tell you more about Elvis in his adult years not only the beginning of his career.
If I sound bitter it’s because after Elvis’s death, she all of a sudden became a Presley again and yet after just a few years of marriage she didn’t want to be a Presley any longer? So why now after his death did she want to belong in the spotlight as if she cared for him and not just the fame and wealth his name has brought her?
Oh Priscila Priscilla, why didn't you get him while you were with him. You finally understand his greatness, his creative musical genius and his love and generosity of spirit decades after he died ...........Sigh. All the millions of Elvis fans around this globe saw it. We sensed it, we knew it. His beautiful emotive voice, his amazing ability for musical arrangement, his producing talents and yes even his humanity. I don't think we will see anything that will Suprise us about this master artist and this master human being called Elvis Aaron Presley. Elvis's sensitivity and vulnerability was clear and evident to us when we watched him and listened to him. Furthermore, we understood his struggles, his endemic sense of loneliness and even his insecurities about himself as he was approaching 40 years of age. We got him Priscilla.
It saddens me tremendously that you didn't. Had you have known then, what we the fans had always known perhaps you would never have left him. This was a man gifted from above with a talent and a heart as big as the heavens, the likes of which we shall never see again. You know many artists can touch our hearts, but only ONE artist has ever touched our souls. His name was ELVIS. He reached in to permeate that very sacred part of us.

I have always wondered why all these people who were around Elvis could not create some kind of intervention to get Elvis into rehab?. Even though Priscilla was divorced from Elvis, she still could have intervened to get him some help. She seems to be profiting from his death and royalties and yet when she could have actually done something to interject herself in his self-destructive behavior, but she was absent, there is no way she didn't hear about it. There are several documentaries with people like Joe Esposito who found Elvis on the day he died, all of his Memphis Mafia circle who all said they could see Elvis's health was at a tipping point; but they could not stop him, but isn't that the time THEY should have intervened and get him help?. Even Elvis's father Vernon was alive when Elvis was going through all his health issues?.. yet not one of these people did anything that could have maybe saved Elvis's life. To me, actions speak louder than words from people like Jerry Schilling; who is now profiting from being Elvis's friend and that's what I find sick about most of his so-called friends and the same goes for Priscilla who had a child with Elvis and she of all people could have done something.
@@birdmanT7Yes Sir, you have echoed my sentiments exactly. Elvis could be difficult, and we have known for a long time he had a very fierce and bad temper, as reported and spoken about by many. I don't know if I'm right or wrong however its my personal belief that everyone around him was just afraid of being ousted if they pushed or challenged him in any way. The whole abuse of prescription drugs was a very contentious issue, with Elvis, he maintained continually that he needed them. People did try and speak to him about it but he shut them down very quickly. Elvis hated himself later and would apologise to anyone he hurt by buying expensive gifts for them.
Honestly any real intervention would have had to come from someone who didn't see him as a meal ticket and someone with an iron gut to take him on and make him face his demons.
You know when you truly truly love someone, you will walk through that fire . You will take the hits the rejection the explosions their raging anger to get them to see the light and to commit to real change. Nobody was either able , or willing to do that. I don't think re-hab centres even existed back then . If they did , to tell Elvis he had to go to re-hab,.... would have been World War Three for that person.
The only person that could have stopped Elvis from self-destruction was his mother, or a woman who loved him just as much . Priscilla was certainly NOT that woman. I am not a fan of priscilla's and for good reasons. This issue was one of them.
People who truly love you with all their heart and who understand your struggles will force you to face the fury of addiction and they will go down fighting with all their strength and might to save you.
Jerry Shilling once said.... "nobody could save Elvis, but Elvis". That is true.
However sometimes it takes someone to bring you to that point of commitment to change. Elvis never found or had that person in his life after his mother died.
@Diceman Thank you for your response. However, I'm sorry I can't agree. Priscilla knew damn well what she was walking into well before the marriage. They had been living and sleeping together for years before they were married in 1967. Cilla knew his lifestyle. The prescription drug addiction, the so called "hangers on". The other women. She knew it all going in. Priscilla loved Elvis Presley the icon, the name on the marquee. She never loved Elvis Presley the man. Within 13 months of their marriage, she was bedding her dancing instructor followed then by her karate instructor who she ran off with. I firmly believe Priscilla Beaulieu put up and shut up for years. She waited till that wedding ring was on her finger, the Presley name forever secured for her, and the Presley baby was had, then she walked, but not before she had permanently cemented herself in his life with those two things. She has spent almost 50 years profiting from both ever since.
Now we have her getting set to drag her own granddaughter into court in order to regain control of Graceland even after Lisa her own daughter ousted her as trustee over the Presley estate. Hec man even die-hard Priscilla fans are seeing this woman in a different light now. She has lost all credibility in many people's eyes with what she is doing now, not that she ever had any in the first place.
Neither Priscilla nor Elvis truly loved one and other, least not in the real sense of the word. You cannot claim to love someone and be cheating on them and lying to them repeatedly.
Priscilla Beaulieu has dished up to the public a very well woven fabric of half-truth, misrepresentations, and outright lies for 45 years now, since Elvis's death. For those who want to know the truth about this woman they will need to go and do a good deal of research. Thanks for your comment, Cheers.
@Diceman I just spent a good hour responding to your last post to me. I'm deeply disappointed I lost it all just toward the end when I was about to press send. I must have somehow accidently deleted it all. Perhaps it was just as well. You said quite a bit and I wanted to respond to each point you raised, so it was quite lengthy.
I'm going to have to keep this fairly short now. Anyone that takes that much time and trouble to respond in the manner that you did certainly deserves a response. You are clearly passionate about the Elvis Priscilla saga, as am I.
At the end of the day though when it comes to their story there are definitely two divided camps.
Many in their inner circle who lived with both of them and knew them for years give very different accounts of Priscilla than the narrative that she herself has given the public since Elvis's death. There are those that are team Cilla, and those that are not. That includes family members, friends, employees, and even neighbours and school mates.
There have been many books written about Elvis which of course also include Priscilla because she was briefly part of his life. Surprisingly Cilla spent far more years living with Marco Garibaldi, the man she had her son to , than she ever did living with Elvis. Not everyone's comments and testimonials are flattering to say the least where Cilla is concerned. ...... Now who do we choose to believe?
You in particular mention the book "Child Bride". In this book many of Priscilla's intimate friends were interviewed and many others who had never spoken before. The author spent a long long time researching and documenting facts even from court transcripts before the book was published. There is indeed a lot of shocking revelations within the book not only about Priscilla but also about her family the Beaulieu's. I have often wondered why Cilla chose to only to sue Currie Grant and not the author herself Suzanne Finstad. There were many in the book that made serious accusations about Priscilla not just Mr Grant. Priscilla was said to have been a very sexual promiscuous girl at school, with a step farther, Paul Beaulieu, that was a molester of the young school girlfriends that Cilla brought home. Cilla's mother Ann Beaulieu the book states was an enabler of the Elvis Priscilla courtship because she was totally starstruck and agenda driven .
Now, you claim the book is salacious and basically full of lies, you further state it has "zero credibility"...
That is just simply incorrect, and its rather disingenuous on you part to make that claim. The author Suzanne Finstad was and is a lawyer. She knew exactly what she was saying and writing, all of which was based on recorded interviews, testimonials and court documents.
Why didn't Cilla sue the author, thats who Cilla should have gone after? Cilla didn't sue Finstad because she couldn't, everything in the book was true and accurate and Cilla darn well knew it . She picks on Currie Grant? ....well he wasn't the only one in the book who had similar things to say about Priscilla as a 14-year-old in Germany.
The truth of the matter is Elvis didn't even want to marry Cilla by 1967. He was infatuated with her pretty face but not for long, that too is a fact well attested to by many. Im sorry i accidently deleted my original response to your last post because as i stated I addressed each point you raised, however Im not going to make this response here now an essay again. All i will say is at the end of the day we all have to decide who and what we want to believe. I myself try and look for well supported facts and i might add they are not easy to find, as I'm sure you can well appreciate. Anway we can agree to disagree, and that's fine. There is something you state that is very interesting and I will briefly re-address it . You say Priscilla according to some who knew her, was not materialistic. Well, the fact is she didn't have to be while she was with Elvis, she wanted and needed for nothing. Elvis was a very generous man and alarmingly so in fact . However, after they were divorced Cilla had had Elvis in and out of the courts petitioning for more and more money, in spite of the very hefty divorce settlement she got. Her grab for money has remained to this day. You further stated there is no feud between Priscilla and her granddaughter Riley, that it's all just tabloid fodder........Really? @Diceman Well I must say I am indeed impressed with your detailed knowledge. That was an enormous amount of information you have supplied there.
I can only say one thing I am not convinced Elvis and Cilla truly loved one another in the real sense of the word. I have no doubt in my mind they cared for each other and very much so. However, there are different types of love. There is friendship love, parental love, sibling love. Whatever feelings Cilla and Elvis had for each other, they were not of the right kind between a wife and husband. Elvis took darn good care of his woman. Priscilla was not singled out that way in any special capacity. Elvis just had a big heart, and he wore it on his sleeve, and the world could see it. You know its interesting to note something here. In an interview with Barabra Walter in the mid 1980's Priscilla states she realised Elvis to her was more like a father figure than anything else. She inadvertently states she thought her feelings for Elvis were love, implying they were clearly not. Wow, talk about slip ups. Cilla forgets her very early interviews. Many of us are old enough to remember them. So, when she tells everyone today 40 years later,
that Elvis was the love of her life and how deeply they loved one another, well, she is just not believable. Cilla has flip flopped on many stories over the last few decades. She also changed her story about not having sex after Lisa was born because Elvis couldn't make love to a mother. I remember thinking, what nonsense. AS the years rolled on, she changed that and said, they WERE having sex. Well, which is it Priscilla? Another charge against Elvis she made was that he raped her, again in later interviews she changed that too and stated he did not rape her, it was just a little forceful.
From what you have written me, sounds like both camps had their own agenda's, including Miss Cilla herself. I must say though i was shocked to hear about Marty Lacker and Larry Gellar and what you had to say on these two.
In terms of the book by Finstad, perhaps I can view it in a slightly different light now. However, to be honest with you, I'm not sure everything in it is a lie. Sometimes the truth is negative and can sound salacious. The fact that the author had not sold any books in years is irrelevant really. I am though willing to keep an open mind and admit, it may not all be the gospel truth.
Anway thank you so much for your time and patience., and also too for your contribution of furthering information on the life of Elvis and his story. Die-hard Elvis fans always want to know more. We can never get enough info .
In conclusion i must say this....Cilla has always claimed she left Elvis because she didn't have a life of her own she was living Elvis's life . She further claims she had no teenage years and that she didn't know what the world was like . I just simply cannot buy those statements. Firstly, she did not spend all her teen years with Elvis. She moved into Graceland when she was18 years old. Her teen years were spent in Germany with the exception of two short visits to Graceland for a holiday and to see Elvis for a couple of weeks. furthermore, for someone who claims she wanted a life of her own when she left him, why has her whole life been all about Elvis? it's been hardly a life of her own. In many ways Priscilla Beaulieu is rather a tragic figure. I don't believe she ever found lasting happiness with anyone after she left Elvis and there have been many men in her life including several live in lovers that she spent years with. From Mike Stone to Michael Edwards a model she had a baby too but aborted, Marco Garibaldi who she went on to have a son with, and many others she was intimate with. She dumped all of them. I often think I see a deep sadness in her eyes. Perhaps she has her regrets, I don't know. It's odd though, isn't it ?.... neither she nor Elvis ever found true happiness

It was never hers to sell. Elvis made sure of that. He also didn’t name her in his will as Lisa Marie’s executor, which speaks to how he really felt about Priscilla.

Thank all of you for your compassion and hard driving team work in making these documentaries and the Movie, I haven't seen yet but ready to get it. You know God Gave the World Elvis, a once in a lifetime amazing human being. I first heard his music in 1966, I saw him in concert in 1976 Florida, I count it a fortunate event. I am so thankful for the continued efforts of everyone to bring the real man in perspective, his life was not easy and I believe he worked hard at every thing he did to a special perfection to the world, now he is singing for Jesus
Thom Zimmy's documentary on Elvis: "The Searcher" is really the best ever made about Elvis, it's went through his entire career in such a chronological way with footage and commentaries from people who knew him. I discovered so many things about Elvis in that film, it was compelling and really moving. Elvis died before I was even 12 years old but his music has always been a big part of my life, I still consider him to be the best singer and performer of all time, his rawness and his honesty always came through in his voice and his performances.

Cousin Billy betrayed Elvis in a horrible book with Lacker and Fike after Elvis died for $$$. They are not welcome around the Presley's that I have ever seen since Vernon died. That is a very sad aspect of Elvis' life, that so many he had around him betrayed him. I have never seen this done to another entertainer. Elvis so didn't deserve that.

I wish Billy Smith was involved in any Retrospective of Elvis. He is a blood relative who is one of the only people who really knew Elvis and not accepted a cash windfall to sensationalize Elvis.

It’s amazing how Pricilla looks so much better and she’s still very dazzling, compared to the last few years, where she looked more tired. Her hair and her makeup is so well done, that she still looks very young physically, for a 75 years old woman. She got to live much longer, than poor Elvis ever lived. Why was the information from Priscilla and Jerry MORE important than anyone else’s, especially Elvis’s OWN FAMILY who were with him up until the last morning? Just wondering. Elvis was already in Germany when his mother. Parker led Elvis down a road of $$$$$$. Elvis had a brilliant mind overpowering Parker’s Carney ways many, many times. A Carney knows how to travel, they know how to grab attention from crowds and how to bribe people out of there money, thus comes the “Snowman” Why would they be surprised, they shoveled in THEIR information. News travels fast, especially Elvis Presley news.

You should always only tell people what u want them to know! Priscilla has been the driving force of maintaining the Presley brand and Graceland. She continues to be the spokesperson of 4 decades. Jerry continued to be a support to Presley family. Thanks Priscilla and Jerry for talking and sharing Elvis with us. I appreciate hearing this interview.
I enjoyed this discussion immensely but do you realize that nowhere in your vlog title or in your drop-down notes does it explain that they are talking about an Elvis documentary? I assume from the board on the easel that it is called “The Searcher”? Elsewhere in the discussion I heard HBO. So is this a new documentary on HBO or has it already been on HBO? Is Jerry and Priscilla a couple? Those two have always seemed to have a thing for each other. Jerry has been there as special Graceland consultant/music director from old west Memphis when Elvis choose him to play some pick up tackle football on his teams on the local fields
No, Jerry has been married to Cindy for a long time, beautiful couple. Jerry and Pricilla have a brother, sister type relationship and Jerry has been like an Uncle to Lisa Marie

I watched the first half of this documentary. Wasn't crazy about it. It was one third Elvis and two thirds everyone else. I may watch the second half. Not sure. Love Elvis. I don't care about all those around him 60 plus years ago.

Jerry Schilling was NOT a real friend of Elvis, He and Priscilla had sex when she was still married with Elvis! and after 2005, when Marco Garcia Garibaldi - with whom she lived for 20 years from 1985 to 2005 and in 1987 she had a son with him called Navarrone and he was 15 years younger than her - left her as she was "too old for him" - Jerry Schilling was her lapdog and went with her everywhere WELL PAID!

Well they were both Producers on The Searcher (they are usually partners in producing anything concerning Elvis, except not on the new movie). I don't think Producers are paid outright, I think they get a percentage of the profits. Why, what difference would it make?

Why does it matter? Flights cost money, food cost money, hotels cost money, everyone is getting paid in some way or another in any industry. They’re providing a service to people who are interested. They have their bills to pay and we want to see them while they’re alive. It’s a give and take- as is anything in life. Stop talking about money because they don’t have to do this but do for the fans that keep wanting new Elvis content and for their outright love of Elvis which is evident with the ABOVE AND BEYOND lifelong things that they have done for Elvis even when it was doubtful it would be successful. Priscilla had to take care of Graceland when it was in the hole financially and turned it all around! She deserves massive respect for that because I know MANY ex-wives of husbands that wouldn’t even attend their funerals let alone continue their legacy for them and that includes rather wealthy people. Some women just wouldn’t care no matter what. Give Priscilla the respect she deserves. My gosh!

The decisions also involved the people at the bank, among others. She made a good decision when she decided to find a business person who did know what he was doing. She does not do anything for the love of Elvis, or for the fans per se. She loved him so much that she left him, which is her right to do, and then very publicly did interviews praising Mike Stone, saying how wonderful he was, and really "knew how to treat a woman." She wrote in her book that Elvis raped her, and then years later after getting so much negative feedback, changed her mind and said, Well, he didn't really. She was not in Elvis' will; he deliberately did not leave her anything. After their divorce settlement she sued him two years later for more money. Elvis did not intend for her to be in charge of anything. She is today worth $50 million according to Forbes and the other business sites.

The news paper articles after divorces too used Priscilla Presley when Elvis was alive. If she got money , she had done enough for that. When they don't have the money to maintain graceland everyone told to sell but preserved it for daughter decided to open to public. At that time some of family members & friends were against this bcz they were living in that house, they wanted share too. That decision made wonders today Graceland is the 2nd most visited place in America.
