I don’t give a fuck what anyone says, that self title album was a fucking BANGER🔥🔥 sucks we won’t ever get one of those again... but who knows 🤔
But damn I can imagine how happy you guys were when ross fucking Robison was in the same room with you guys, that energy must had been WILD.
Haha I appreciate that. It was fkn crazy. So much fun and learned a lot. Hope people revisit that album sometime. -Garza
I love the album . Mass creativity. The guitar playing is so much fun
Your the only one lol
it's such a good album, motograter energy
Holy shit Garza has a podcast now that's what's up. I'll be watching attentively man
Thanks man! -Garza
Ross Robison seems like a real cool dude. I would be so honored if he worked with my music. /,,/
He is. Ross is a special guy. Im lucky to call him a friend. Thanks for watching. -Garza
@@GarzaPodcastClips his production is just the best. It's raw and dirty. I wish he'd continued to produce Korn. Maybe they wouldn't have become less frenetic and funky.
@@psychedelicfright85 Didn’t really work out with Korn III, like their debut is probably the best, but their last two, seems to work really well with other producer, don’t remember his name, but he truly brought back heavy from Korn, i think he also worked with deftknes, noe the band with Head, it’s great again, people seem to shit on Ray too much, but dude has his own groove and adds some really heavy and cool elements, I think it really works with band.
The Self-Titled Suicide Silence album is stupidly over hated.
It was a different experiment the band wanted to try.
The album has it's moments both good and bad, but
strangely it's an album that's been growing on me
100% agree. Not my favorite album but it reflects some of my teenage years in the late mid-late 90’s.
I lost all hope for SS when I heard Doris and was SOOO glad to hear them come back with that last shit.. been here since 07 and ain’t going anywhere. Just subbed to your channel man
i love this album tbh
Ross is a legend!!!
I'm not a deathcore fan much, but these guys, I've always liked. I liked the nu metal album, because I grew up on that stuff, and it was just an experiment. Some of the vocals were a little too overdone for nu metal, though Ross has a raw and dirty production style like no other. He was a guitarist for a thrash band in the 80s too, called Detente.
I love that album, fuck whoever says it sucks
I actually really like that album man.
Ross seems so dope...down to earth but will flip the script on a dime...
I loved this album honestly, I like when bands experiment for a record or 2, there are worse choices bands have made, like illud Divinum Insanis, it only had 2 good songs on it Blades For Baal and Existo Vulgore, Cold Lake is another one that just missed the mark so much, if a band can experiment and know what they're doing then kudos to them. If anybody reads this comment please suggest me some albums where a band changed their sound drastically. I need more diamonds in the rough to listen to n_n
Didn't morbid angel make that album to get kicked off the labelnornwas that deicide lol
If I were Chris, being at that point the only founding member and who honestly should be in charge of the band at this point, I woulda told Mark, Eddie and Alex to reign it in on all the butthurt videos they made towards the fans. It made the whole thing so much worse where they tried to act like they didn't care about the backlash but all they did was show that the opposite was the case. I didn't see Chris engage in any of that further cementing him as the coolest person in SS. Some of them seem kinda annoying. He should be in charge of the band.
Ross Robinson seems like a real cool man. I would be so honored if he work with my music in the future. \m/
One of the best record's they made.
One of the worst unless you’re deaf
I mean I'm not deaf
One of the best "tee hee" albums made.
I’m from And live in Barstow where Ross is from. Best thing outta B town lol
To me, that album still has VOD "Imprint" nastiness to it.
They should’ve released a re-recorded studio version in a year or so back then. To show that they couldve made it cleaner/more perfect sounding if they wanted to but chose not to.
Hermida has good cleans like on ASP, it’s just that the live recording style of ST didn’t work for most.
Thsts why you go see them live lol
..
The fact they put that album out under suicide silence expecting deathcore fans to fuck with it and then went as far as offering to fight people who criticised it, is... something I’m so glad I was alive to witness.
Deathcore is frowned upon by a lot of people, mainly for copying what Suffocation and Dying Fetus pioneered... breakdowns in death metal, and they polished it too much. I don't hate it, but it's a trend, much like nu metal was.
@@psychedelicfright85 smi would not know of suffocation if it were not for deathcore.
Ross seems like he's taken too many shrooms before the interview
Hardly, Charlie!
@@Odd_Combo Ok, thanks!
SS isn't the first or the last band that release an album that split their fanbase I didn't hate the self titled album didn't love it either sometimes you won't like an album your favourite band puts out and that's fine hopefully you like the next one and the old stuff you love will always be there
Would've loved a follow up, at least one song, on become the hunter, specially on skin tight.
Yeah, clean vocals would fit there for sure. But the high screams we got there instead were a nice juxtaposition.
@@The_JustJoshing Actually that high screaming annoys me, prefer clean vocals... And Eddie has proven he can do that better than high screaming, personal opinion
Yes love the high screams
The problem is switch a NU metal material directly with no hesitation & other fans did not totally appreciate it. Good album IMO my average given score is 7.5/10.🤙💯

Teehee
Jared Dines can be funny, and it's actually "te heh", but he can kind really pompous.
Teeeheeeeeeeeee
Recording an album with Ross at the helm is on my bucket list. The magic he brings out of the musicians he works with is inspiring. He is a legend yet seems so Incredibly relatable and down to earth.
I've noticed that the greatest metal musicians and producers have no ego or chip on their soldier. Success and fame do not corrupt their art.
Basically the opposite of Ivan and 5 finger donkey punch. Ugh I despise that band especially that whiney turd of a front man. Played a show opening for motograter and that dude was a pre Madonna and rude to everyone. The metal community should do to him whatsocial media did to Elon musk
Shoulder* fuck off spell check
